My mom has been staying at Cumberland Ridge for close to two months now. It's very nicely-decorated, nice, and clean. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. The services have all been very good and there are no upcharges. They have a dining room which everybody goes to to eat their meals. My mom has a single room, with her bed, two chairs, her TV, a dresser, a nice closet, and a bathroom. It's a good size for one person. They have exercise, guest preachers who come in every day, birthday parties, bingo, and a library.

We had a great visit at Cumberland Ridge Assisted. The director was very knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to answer any questions. We saw different rooms. They have different room size options, and the single rooms were larger than what we saw in the other places. They had two common sitting areas, the library, and the dining area. I saw a few of the residents here or there, just kind of visiting with each other. When we passed one resident slowly working her way down the hall. One of those staff members came by and knew her by name and encouraged her as she was slowly making her way. The rooms have individual locks, so that if they want to lock their door when they leave the room, they can. Obviously, there's a Master Pass key that the staff have. They provided a microwave, a small mini fridge, and cable as part of the cost in the room, which is nice. It's all one level.

I visited Cumberland Ridge, and I was impressed with it. The staff took me on a tour and told me what they did for the residents. The rooms were clean, spacious, and nice. They had all kinds of activities. They took them out shopping and went to stores. They had all kinds of entertainment there. They do bingo and arts & crafts too. The dining area was clean, and everybody that I talked to enjoyed the meals. What stood out to me was the easy access, and it was clean.

Both my parents are in Cumberland Ridge. It is a small facility but I like it. They are very clean and well-kept. It is one of the most affordable for my parents right now. There is not a whole lot in the surrounding areas but my mom's doctors are there and that's the biggest reason why they stayed there. My dad is 89 and has Parkinson's. He also gets all depressed. He is not yet accepting the fact that he can't go around like he used to. Nevertheless, both my parents seemed to be doing well there. It has been particularly good for my mom so far. She gets to meet with a lot of ladies and she is goes with them to do shopping and stuff. The rooms in this facility are too small. The one that my parents got is a single room for two people, so it is crowded. They are waiting on a double room though, but this facility wants $500 a month more just for an extra room and I think that's ridiculous.

This facility is refered to as the "Taj Mahal" by my friends who have family there. That's because it is quite nice. The foyer is beautiful and the facility not only looks very clean it is absent of any smells which can usually be found in assisted living or nursing homes. This looks like someone's home with lots of bedrooms. Each room is large enough to fit a persons bedroom furniture and a few other pieces from home. There's a private bathroom in each room and an intercome system so that residents can be monitored. The staff is friendly and seem knowledgable and very low key. Another plus is that the food is quite good. Also there are pets in this facility. On my last visit I saw a dog running around. It was friendly and well trained and I'm not sure if it belonged to a resident or if it was the facility pet. Either way it's a great addition. Lastly the food is quite good which is unusual. It doesn't taste institutional. The only minus that I can think of for this facility is that the parking is VERY limited. The lot is shared with a nursing home and their staff and visitors seem to occupy most of the spaces. Definitely need to expand the lot! Overall this is a nice facility for a rural town. If you're looking for assisted living I'd definitely give this one a visit. It may fit your needs perfectly.
