"My mother is in Bethesda, which has 24/7 life and medical care. Right now, she probaly doesn’t need all the medical care, but this is the best for her because when she is no longer on private pay, she can stay in the same place and go on to Medicaid. They have the same activities and things like that as other communities. They have activity rooms, a dining room, and a living room. For activities, they have something going on every morning and every afternoon. Usually, they have someone come and get my mother to take her to the dining room for meals, and have someone to come and get her and take her for activities or to get her hair done, then take her back to her room. She can go outside and sit and someone will take her outside. Family can take her outside to eat if the weather’s permitting. It is very nice. I don’t have complaints about it whatsoever. "

"NHC HealthCare Cookeville is very nice. It is where my sister is now. We usually eat with her every weekend. They have choices with meals. She could have a dinner-type meal at lunch. Another option would be to have a soup and sandwich for lunch, and then she could have a full meal at dinner. Her only complaint for breakfast is that there is so much food. Then by the time lunch comes, she's not ready. The staff are very compassionate. Her room is very roomy and sunny. In terms of amenities, if you're up to it, they have bingo and those type of activities. There is a beauty shop, so she can get her hair done, cut, or whatever. There is somebody who comes to see if you want your nails painted. They have a little common area, where we had a birthday party for her."

"My mother is in Signature HealthCARE of Putnam County. There's nothing I like about it. When we went over, she had not been cleaned up. There are no activities, she's just lying in bed. It was clean. Her room has two beds, and you can't even turn around. She has no TV and no phone. The layout was nice and they have a patio."

"My wife was at Standing Stone Care and Rehab. It's absolutely wonderful. She got a shared room which is like what you would expect to see. They basically were side by side and nothing between them. They have little games and things that they play, but not nearly as many as the activities in the other place. They have long-term care there, too. It's a fairly large building. And you can go down one hall, down the other hall, back up this hall, back up to where you started, and so you can have a nice walk. They also allowed me to go out front, which my wife really liked. They had an overhang thing and a couple of benches there. They have the bedrooms, and then they have a large room with lots of chairs and tables. That's where they have the TV, and where they spend all their time there. It was all covered by Medicare. The main thing in that place was the staff. They were so wonderful, and the building was pretty nice."

"After having double knee replacement, I needed a place to recuperate for just a few weeks after the surgery. I was hesitant about going to a nursing home, and I also felt a little awkward because I was younger than most of the residents. However, I was made to feel most welcome and was well taken care of. I was able to get all of my physical therapy done on a daily basis and rest afterwards. My family was allowed to come and encourage me, and I proceeded with my rehabilitation very quickly. In fact, I continued with Lifecare‘s physical therapy for another two weeks and was ready to be out on my own. I was walking without a walker or a cane after just four weeks! (The doctors had estimated 10 to 12 weeks with walking assistance such as a cane or walker. ). The staff was fabulous, friendly, and accommodating! I have also visited many friends there in the nursing home and assisted living areas. I would highly recommend this facility, and if any of my loved ones needed their care I would not hesitate to use them."

"Nhc Healthcare, Sparta is OK. The nurses are on their toes with my husband. Whatever he needs, they can get it. The only thing that I would have to say is they don't really have enough people working there to keep things clean. Things could be better, but they just don't seem to have enough maintenance people there. My husband's room is comfortable. The food is good and he has never complained about the food. It's like home cooking. They have puzzles, and the other day they had pumpkin painting. They also have activities in the cafeteria for them daily."
