"My mother is now at NHC Place, Sumner. So far, it has been phenomenal. The staff are really, really nice, and they work with her so well because she didn't come as far in her recovery as what we were hoping, and what she thought she could. They've just worked with her every step of the way. Food is very good, I think it's good, and they have a wide variety of choices. They have an activities director, and she does the usual activities. She has the musical things, they have a theater, and she does game things. They also have the exercise program where they do like chair yoga, and they have a balance exercise group. They have enough for everybody. They have Bible study groups. They have things to keep them interested and busy. They have numerous outdoor areas like a courtyard, they have a movie theater, they have a game room, and they have a beautiful baby grand piano, and that's where they do their singing and their hymn singing. It's the staff that makes the whole place."

"This facility was very tidy. The residents were up and about. Some were playing cards, some were just chatting. Their caregivers were right there with them making the residents feel they were right at home. Everyone of the staff I met were very nice. The patients seemed extremely happy. No one that I saw on my visit was dirty or soiled. "

"We have chosen Hearthside Senior Living. We got our names on the waiting list there. We met with the manager of the property. He gave us some brochures, and told us all about the property, the cost factors, and so forth. It is a nonprofit, so the cost factor is considerably lower than in other areas. I think they have 30 units in total. They have two two-bedroom units, and the rest of them are three-bedroom in a gorgeous layout with two car garages, a large great room, a kitchen, and a living area. Then on the particular unit, we went into was a screened-in patio out back and nice large bedrooms. The master bedroom and master bath are good size. The kitchen is a good size and well-appointed. They maintain everything except your washer and dryer. The floorplan is just gorgeous from the inside out. All units are occupied right now, but they have an agreement with one of their people to let you come in and look at the facility. You can go into the assisted living facility and you can eat your three meals there or you can get them and take them home. They've got game rooms that you can participate in. It's top-notch. All of the people were very friendly at the assisted living facility where the office was. "

"I toured McKendree Village. The staff member who assisted me was very friendly. We didn't have much touring given. It's just directions, more so of how to get from point A to point B. I really like the room size. I saw a two-bedroom, and it was very nice to be considered assisted living."

"My grandmother resides at this facility, and I can tell you that it is wonderful. The staff is extremely caring, and polite. My grandmother has never been happier, and she has lived in 2 other Assisted Living Facilities before. The food is wonderful, and if she doesn't like something they are having, the dietary staff is very happy to provide an alternate food item. They have wonderful activities, both on the property, and off. The administrator makes every effort to get out, and get to know both the residents and their families, and tries diligently to accommodate requests. Her door is always open, and I have personally seen first hand, how she and her staff take the time to address issues regarding their residents with their families. She has welcomed me into her office several times, when my grandmother was being difficult, and we as a family, worked with the staff at Richland Place to work toward a solution. I love this facility so much that when the time comes, I will be placing my mother here! Wonderful Place! "
