"My mother has moved into Red Cedar Glen. The thing I like best about it is the care that the residents get. They're caring out there. The rooms are nice and very spacious. She just has a microwave and a refrigerator. They have a calendar that they go through every month and do activities for the residents. From what my mother said, the food is pretty good."

"The lady who gave me the tour at Viva Senior Living at Wilson was the director. She was very knowledgeable and very personable. She gave me some good information about other things that can help my senior friend. I was very pleased with the facility. I did not sample the food, but I asked the other residents and they felt the food was good. They showed me the dining room and several different sitting areas and I was able to see where they held activities. Their apartments are comparable to other places that I've seen before. I liked the one-bedroom better than the studio."

"Everybody at Brookdale Goodlettsville is very friendly. They have a lot of activities for the residents; it seems like they do a lot of stuff. They were doing exercises in their wheelchairs when I came in. They were doing exercises and they get them out, and then take them to different places, maybe to the grocery store. The tour was good, they showed me around everywhere. The person who showed me around was very knowledgeable and answered questions that I had. She's virtually just very accommodating. Their rooms were nice and spacious, and very accommodating with railings for disabilities or handicapped, and spacious closets. The facility makes a circle and right in the middle of it is like a garden, it was really pretty. It's nice, where people can go out, there are little benches, chairs and flowers and all kinds of stuff. It's kind of like a little courtyard in the middle; it's nice."

"The staff is exceptional. They really make the residents feel welcomed. They make sure all the residents are always in a involved in group activates. It is a safe environment and very clean. Its just a great community for my dear friend. "

"I'm at American House Lebanon. The staff is caring and attentive, but they have a hard time keeping staff. The food is good. They just serve too much chicken. It's old, but it's very clean. They have bingo and biweekly trips to Wal-Mart and out for lunch. They have a large communal dining area. The courtyard is grassy with a nice well-lit path. I have an average-sized room with a kitchenette, bedroom, and bath. The atmosphere is homey and inviting."

"Mom moved into Harmony at Mt. Juliet. It's on the new side, so everything's nice. Everything's clean. She talks about how good the food is. So far, the staff has been good. They've got everything. They've got a library, an outdoor courtyard area, a bar area, a movie room, and multiple seating areas with TVs. They've got all kinds of activities. They have a walking group, bingo, a knitting group, and a bunch of different stuff. We got a pretty good rate and we locked in for two years. So far, value for money is pretty good."

"We were really pleased with Trousdale Senior Living Center. They took great care of my mom while she was there. The staff was amazing and very helpful. She did like line dancing, and she had her hair done, but she was only in there for a few months. The food was good. "

"Belmont Village is where we have my dad. There are a number of really good things about this place. First of all, it tended to be a bit less money than some of the places I've visited for the quality. It is in a very good neighborhood in Nashville and, unlike some assisted living facilities, it doesn't require a large or any upfront investment. Some of the better facilities here require that you have a buy-in, which could be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, but this is not like that. This is just rent, and the price is reasonable. The people who work there are extremely professional. Everyone from the administrative staff to the nursing staff is very good. The place is animal-friendly, so if you have a pet or a dog, they will walk them there, which is unusual. They also encourage lots of artistic creativity whether it is people playing music or whatever their hobbies are. It is a nice social community of people who are infirmed or old, and it is a very friendly, very cheery place. I've visited a number of other places here in Nashville, and they were depressing to me; I just didn't like them. I just love the people here. They are such nice people who run this place. It is really one of the best facilities in Nashville. "

"This facility was very tidy. The residents were up and about. Some were playing cards, some were just chatting. Their caregivers were right there with them making the residents feel they were right at home. Everyone of the staff I met were very nice. The patients seemed extremely happy. No one that I saw on my visit was dirty or soiled. "

"We toured NHC Place, Sumner assisted living. We liked it because it was close to family and stuff. The only thing mom didn't like was it was on the second-floor level and she's not comfortable with elevators. I told her it would be a while before she could get a room on the bottom floor, and the bottom floor was way more expensive than she would've been able to pay. The staff was friendly, nice, considerate, and very knowledgeable. She was in rehab at that same place, so we just kind of went from rehab to there over that afternoon when I went to see her. They offered 24-hour nursing care, laundry facility, cable, phone, three meals a day, and snacks."

"I liked them because the memory care was smaller and it seemed like more of a family atmosphere and less like a hospital. The staff who assisted us was very nice and she knew a lot about the place. I will give her a high rating. The facility is very clean."

"They could not keep my Dad from getting outside on a busy road. They do have a special floor for Alzheimer's Residents with a locked door. But he was not watched close enough because he went out as someone was coming in. This happened at least 3 times so we had to take Dad out. "

"I very much liked Maple Cottage. It's family owned and operated. The mother, the father and the two children are all active in running the facility. It's certainly a memory care specialty place. It's very small, and it's like being at home with the family. It was nice and I would've considered it, but it was too small. I wanted it a little bigger so my mother had more room to roam. There was only one open common area in the middle of the facility. Other than that, it's the residents' rooms. The common area was also the lunchroom and the activities were all done in this one room as well. The rooms were relatively small, but very nice. They like to keep the residents busy and it's more of a one-on-one thing, which I really liked, but I was more comfortable with a facility that provided more common areas to be able to roam."
