The staff at Cherry Tree was alright, I guess. The rooms are all semi-private, and I am sharing a room with another person. The food was good and they had different activities like bingo. They must have private rooms.

My husband was sent there for rehab/PT yesterday. I warned him not to go to that place. I went to see him after work. The place smells like straight piss. He would call someone to come in and they would just come in and turn the call button off. They were giving him meds. that he is not on and does not need. I was threatened that if I sign him out AMA there would be consequences. If you have a loved one. DO NOT SEND THEM TO CHERRY TREE. THEY WILL END UP LOSING THEIR MIND.

I’ve been in Cherry Tree from February to May last year, and it was a nightmare. I was there a month before I got a shower -- it was all sponge bath before that -- and I’ve had my vital signs checked 3 times in three months. They were very understaffed. On each of the two floors, they have one phone for roughly 50 residents. It was very frequent that I had to remind nurses about my medications.

I was not impressed with the care the patients were getting here, and some of the nurses have nothing better to do but harass the visitors that go there. They are very poorly staffed and that makes for a grumpy crew. They keep the residents in their rooms when sickness is going around and that's fine but a month is a little long for them to be confined to their rooms. They also do not like if you visit often and it makes me wonder why, can't help but think they are not as they appear. These patients pay a lot of money to be there and getting fed and changed should be done without question. Would shop around if considering this home.

I could write a novel about this facility. As far as the staff, many seemed overworked and tired most of the time, but nearly everyone was trying his or her best to serve the residents, even when the residents got unruly. The facility was pretty new when I visited, so everything was clean, well presented and visitor-friendly. There were several options in terms of food, activities and other events that made the residents comfortable. It's hard for me to be too rough in criticizing this facility, but at times it felt like it was understaffed and that each nurse or "helper" could at times be overwhelmed and it would take them too long to respond when a real emergency happened. Again, I realize how incredibly stressful a job like this is, and I understand that sometimes things take precedent and every emergency can't be handled at once. Overall, it's a clean facility with helpful staff that I would definitely recommend to anyone who needs to place a loved one in nursing care. However, my only gripe is the current staff is overworked and too stressed while they are at work. A couple additional hires would go a long way, I'm sure.
