Newhaven Court at Lindwood was very clean. The people were very, very friendly. They had a good therapy center there and several different choices of activities for the people to go to or to do. The staff was wonderful. There was not one thing wrong. The cost just didn't fit our budget. The director who took us around was just wonderful. He followed up with me a couple of times. The individual apartments were just beautiful and perfect for what we may have needed. I talked to some of the residents that were eating the food and looked at their menus, and the residents loved the food. They have two different choices at each meal. Also with an extra one, in case you don't like that. The resident said that the desserts were wonderful. They do a different homemade soup every day so you can have soup and from talking to those who tasted it, they were very pleased with it. I thought the facility was absolutely beautiful, peaceful and so thoughtfully done. I just loved every part of it.

Newhaven Court at Lindwood was very professional and clean. The rooms tend to be on the small side. The staff gave me lots of good information. I did talk to the woman who does the activities, and it looked like they have a lot of arts and crafts. They had a beauty shop. The dining area was very nice, but I did not sample the food. The facility was very nice.

Having toured several Assisted Living facilities in the greater Greensburg area, I knew making a decision was going to be no easy task, that is, until I experienced Newhaven Court. Upon arrival, I was impressed with look. The building appears as a large stately home surrounded by a horse farm in a beautiful countryside setting. Next was an inside tour of exquisitely decorated well maintained common areas and in my case a good sized one bedroom apartment. Lastly, I spoke with Greg and Mike, who were not only personable but also welcoming to any questions or concerns I had. Since being there, I have had the experience of interacting with the staff. Whether it’s members of management, the friendly and helpful receptionists or the capable staff of housekeeping and caregivers it’s clear they like working there and want to do their best for your loved one.

I toured Newhaven Court at Lindwood. It was very clean and very nice. It was kind of like in a rural setting, which would be better for my parents. The facility was very nice. I saw a studio and a one-bedroom, and I thought they were very nice, too. There were plenty of common areas throughout that facility. I saw their activity calendar that they had, and it was pretty good. It's like a senior community where they have their own little places with little kitchenettes and all that stuff. They had transportation for shopping and doctor's appointments. They had lots of benches to sit around. It was a rural setting, so it was very nice.

My aunt moved into Newhaven Court at Lindwood 2 weeks ago. The place is beautiful. The staff has been very kind and caring. She likes the food there. They have bingo, movie nights, casino parties, exercise classes, and they do outings. They have a salon, a theater room, and they have restaurant-style dining.

We chose Newhaven Court at Lindwood for Dad because the staff was very friendly. They had been there for a long time. They don't have a turnover so they must enjoy their job and what they're doing, which makes you realize that it's a good place. If they're happy in their job, they're going to be treating your loved one well. The place is beautiful. It's clean and the care has been wonderful. They answer all of our questions. They constantly have activities and they try to get my dad involved. They have a library, a sunroom, a therapy room where they have therapy dogs/pets that come in, and a little store that's open for them to go and buy stuff like if they want snacks, extra food, or extra little things for their apartment. They have what they called neighborhoods and each of them is a group of little apartments. There's maybe like three or four to a group and then there's like a little sitting area outside of that. If you have more people in your room, you can go up there and sit. Then there's a balcony area to sit outside of each of those. Some of them have views of the golf course or the horses. Right now, there are a lot of baby horses so the residents are looking at that as well. My dad especially, has seen the baby horses. They have a big piano when you first come in. They have beautiful courtyards as well. Dad said they have different types of soup every day at lunch and that every single one has been fantastic. He said they have the best soup he ever had and he's picky about other things. So, he loves their soup. The other thing that they do and that they had on the schedule is having a meeting where residents could go down and discuss with the chefs what they liked and didn't like about the menu. So, they could put in their two cents to say what they would like to change or see more of or get rid of. Every Monday they have a milkshake. They have a different flavor every Monday. So, my dad's been putting on weight, which is good. He must like it.

Newhaven Court at Lindwood was very nice. It is a beautiful place. My husband will stay here while I'm out of the country for two weeks, and then I'll pick him up and bring him home. The people were very nice. They showed me a room that is similar to what my husband will be in, and it's just very nice. I like the way the place is decorated and cared for. The three people that I met were very nice. Upkeep is also very nice. They have a patio there. Today was too cold to sit out, but it was nice. They had little flowers and pots, too. It's just really beautiful.

My husband stayed at Newhaven Court at Lindwood for respite care. I really appreciated the fellow who interviewed us, and he was very good. My husband liked the food the best, and I watched him enjoy it. His room was always clean and it seemed well kept and very nice, and it's just been redone. He had a TV, a refrigerator, a microwave, a chest of drawers, a bed, a chair, table, and lamp. He complained about the exercise classes though. He says it was a funny SilverSneakers because they sat down. He enjoyed the meals and the conversing afterward, and they had them doing something else, too. They have a nice walking trail, though he was disappointed he didn't get to use it. The weather didn't cooperate. It's a beautiful facility, and they've got a nice dining area and a nice entranceway. Everyone seemed content and friendly. The patients were dressed well. The staff during the tour was very nice. The one thing that impressed me was, as we were getting off the elevator, one lady started going the other way and the staff called her by name, and just pointed for her to go the other way, and she went laughing. I was amazed that he knew her name and was able to direct her and she didn't get upset by it. They had a cat there owned by a resident who passed away and he took the cat home. They really seemed to care about their residents. The value for the money is good. Like every place else, they need more staff, but the staff that was there was dedicated. They had pets there frequently, and the people sitting around in the chairs really enjoyed seeing them. They gave the best that they could with what they had, and they were very pleasant about it.

We went to Newhaven Court at Lindwood. It was amazing. It was a beautiful place. Everyone was very friendly. The staff who toured us was very knowledgeable and very friendly. He went into quite a lot of detail on the amenities that were offered. He showed us the entire campus. The apartments were nice and private. They have their own living space. The size is adequate for two people, and they were very well taken care of. They showed us the activity rooms and the dining halls. There were some residents having lunch, and it looked very nice. They just go to their tables, and the aides do all the serving for them. It was restaurant style. The food smelled delicious, too.

I liked Newhaven Court at Lindwood. Everybody that I ran into that was working there that time was great. The gentleman that took me around knew other residents' names there and spoke to a lot of them and a lot of the workers. It was very cheery. The views out the window were nice. It's like a farm place. You can see barns and fields and it was just very nice. It was very clean and I liked the layout.

Appearance-wise, Newhaven Court at Lindwood is fine. My mom is in memory care and her room is OK. I've met a couple of the aides and some of them are nice. She has cable in her room. I provided a television for her. Their visiting hours are very minimal. On weekends, it's only 10 a.m. to 2 and on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, you can get in the building until 5, but 5 is the dining time and I'm not allowed to be there when she's eating. So, I'm limited on when I can visit my mother there. I hope they could extend that longer.

I visited this facility

I went to visit Newhaven Court at Lindwood, it was excellent. It's off of any main roads, it's rural and they have built housing that's kind of encircling the place. It used to be a large farm and it's so quiet, very airy, and very attractively maintained. The staff who gave the tour was excellent. he was very thorough, very hospitable and caring. They had an offer of lunch. At the time I toured, their kitchen was being renovated so it wasn't available. The apartment that I toured was a nice size and newly redone. They said that as a rule, if possible, the carpet would be cleaned, but if it's not possible, then it would be replaced. They do that all the time.

I liked the way Newhaven Court at Lindwood was laid out. The rooms weren't one room right after another. The prices were a little less than what I had seen and I certainly liked the people that handled the place. The visit and the location for me were perfect. The staff was very informative. They answered any question that I asked. They also have outdoor spaces in the front with tables and chairs for the residents to use.

I visited this facility

I toured Newhaven Court at Lindwood and we thought it was very, very nice. But they didn't accept my mother, and they said it was because of her condition. They didn't think that she would fit in. She's got first stage dementia. It was a little less expensive. When you're paying out of pocket, you've got to watch your dollars. One part of it is memory, and the other is assisted living. I visited the assisted living. She wasn't really diagnosed with dementia back then. After Newhaven visited my mother, they diagnosed her as dementia, so they weren't going to accept her. The rooms were pretty much decorated the way the patient would have it done. You were allowed to bring anything in there. You had to bring your own furniture. Some of the rooms were really decorated nice. Outside of each four little quadrants is a special gathering room for those little groups of friends and people to go out there and mingle, have their coffee, and watch TV, rather than going to the main rooms. I was probably going through there for a total of 30 minutes. They just took me all through the rooms, the hallways, and the dining rooms. There was nobody in there eating at the time, but it was all very nice, and I was very happy with that. That's why we were anxious to have our mother move into the facility. I met only one staff member and he put me on a tour. He was quite friendly, well-versed, and well qualified on the entire residence. He answered every question I had. He was very polite, and he spoke well. I saw no fault in the place. I was really happy about it when I went to visit the place. They had an outdoor garden and he told me that they would have hotdogs and cookouts during the warm months. People would sit out there and enjoy the fresh air. Some of the residents have cars and they were able to come and leave. You do have to have a code or key to come in and out. You ring a buzzer, then they would come to the door and bring you in.

My father has been a resident at New Haven for 3 years. We visited many facilities prior to making our decision. Newhaven is the BEST we visited, and we made the correct choice for my father. The facility is a 5-star community. The old adage, "you get what you paid for", Most facilities are priced about the same, and we feel we got a bargain, Newhaven was above and beyond our expectations for the price and family atmosphere. My father is treated like family, and he feels respected, they address the residents by name and most importantly, he is Happy! The community is very clean, and all employees are friendly. The residents have choices with their meals. The activity staff is outstanding and has a great assortment of activities to give all the residents choices. The Nursing Staff is Outstanding and are compassionate and understanding of the resident's needs. Visiting times to visit and taking the residents out are very accommodating. I would recommend New Haven, without hesitation!

Newhaven is a beautiful community , very well maintained and gorgeous scenery all the way around. The way the apartments are set up in neighborhoods make it seem very home like. Their rooms are spacious and very pretty. Two community pups joined our tour which I loved and I saw the residents seemed to throughly enjoy as well. All the staff were kind and I overheard interactions with residents including some I Love Yous passed on . They have a packed activity calendar , I’d like to join some of their programs! We can’t wait to move mom in when she’s ready!

I can't say enough good things about this community. I was so nervous to move my mother anywhere and I cannot tell you how quickly my mind was put at ease as she simply flourished.. My mother has been here for sometime and has had a great experience. The staff is always very kind and helpful. She loves the activities they provide there are usually 8 or so programs scheduled daily, her favorite is bingo of course and the weekly outings. I was always very impressed and continue to be impressed by the way they handled covid and kept everyone safe. Highly recommend

We are waiting to move into Newhaven Court at Lindwood. It was very good. They welcomed us, showed us around, and explained everything. We saw people that were sitting and playing trivia. They were happy, and they were laughing. We went to visit a lady in her room. She was very accommodating. She told us how much she liked it there and all that. They have activities every day in their game room, like bingo and that type of thing. They have trips every other day or so to different areas. When we were there, the following day they were going to Flight 93 memorial in Somerset. The dining area looked very nice; it was empty when we were there. The apartment has a bedroom, a living room, and a kitchen. The rooms were small, but they satisfied us.

May aunt is in Newhaven Court at Lindwood. It's fine. They've been in quarantine for quite sometime now because of the COVID-19. She moved in by the end of November. The staff is fine. My aunt says the people there are very nice. She hasn't really experienced any of the social events or crafts or any other stuff because everybody's kinda stuck in their room right now. I haven't really heard from her on anything else other than her just being stuck in the room like everyone else. The meals are satisfactory. She says some days the food is just mediocre, but some days it's really, really good. I actually did a tour of that place two years ago. It was a very, very nice place and everything was updated, as far as furniture and stuff like that. They painted her room before she moved in and had everything ready, so I believe they did the best they could.

This is not a very good place to put a loved in. The whole place is understaffed. There is not enough aids to care for the residents needs. The housekeepers are over worked cause there isn't enough of them. Management seems to always be standing around when they could be helping. The aid Shannon and the housekeeper from life stories should be fired, they are always complaining about the residents and saying things like they need chloroformed. They don't seem to care who hears them putting the residents, there bosses and there coworkers down. If this is how this facility is run I sure won't be bringing my loved ones here.

Newhaven Court at Lindwood was nice and I had an okay visit. I only had contact with the receptionist because they forgot about my visit -- which was a little annoying -- so I met no staff members. I looked at a room that was being refurbished and it was nice. The grounds were very nice as well.

We're so sorry for the miscommunication. We strive to greet everyone who walks through our door, especially those who've made an appointment, and we hope we can make it up to you. We'd love to invite you by for lunch, or even one of our upcoming events too! Please give us a call and we'll be happy to arrange it 724-853-2505

I liked Newhaven Court, and I placed my mother there. She's in the memory care unit, and it's so much better there. The staff don't yell at them, I liked the way the patients were treated, and they know what to do. There's sun coming in the window, it's pleasant, and there's a little courtyard where the patients can go outside at any time. I'm satisfied with my mother being there, and she's been there since March. The layout is nice, but the hallways are a little bit dark, and they should make it brighter. They tried to make it pleasant and to make it seem more like a nice house. The door is always open, and you can drop in anytime.

That place was very beautiful too, although it was very spacious. It was too big for a facility for my aunt. She’s elderly and cannot get around that well. The rooms were beautiful -- just very, very nice. I toured it on a Saturday, and they had a volunteer around which I wasn’t impressed with. I don’t think it’s appropriate to have a volunteer show me around. She could answer very few of my questions. They never called me back or did any follow up. To me, it didn’t really show that they were really committed to getting the residents there at that time.

Provider Response

Thank you so much for stopping by! I'm so sorry we weren't able to greet you as we should. Your aunt's mobility is obviously a concern of yours - and would be for us as well. For residents who need extra help to get around, we regularly offer that assistance, and will do our best to encourage residents to enjoy all the wonderful activities and events we host every day. I would love to show you around with a more in-depth tour, and perhaps even enjoy lunch in our dining room. Please give me a call at 724-853-2505 and I'd be happy to arrange that.

I am a friend or relative of resident

The staff at Newhaven Court tries to be as attentive as possible with the often short staffing that exists. The facility is lovely and very clean and well kept. My family member was a resident for 1 year. He often smelled bad due to poor hygiene. Assistance with hygiene was not consistent. I believe in part due to short staffing. The food was good and the dining room staff were very friendly and helpful. One must remember that this is a for profit facility, so their main concern is the bottom line and they must make a profit to stay in business. That being said, whomever is responsible for paying must be diligent in reviewing bills and "extra" charges are often added. For the amount of money necessary to have a loved one live at Newhaven Court, I would not recommend the facility.
