My mom was in Golden Age Nursing Facility. Her experience was very good. They provided the level of skilled nursing care that she needed. She was there for rehab, so they did a great job with her in getting her strength back so she could walk on her own. The staffing level was good. I just felt like she was well taken care of. She was happy. The food was good. I had no complaints at all about her care there. The room was large. It was a private room that had its own bathroom. It was large enough that the family who wanted to visit had enough seating. There were windows, and it was bright. Her room was right outside the dining room, so that was a great location. She didn't have to go far to go to the dining room. It was comfortable. The place was maintained well, and the decor was nice. I didn't see any kind of maintenance issues at all. The hallways were large and open. Medicare paid for all of her time there.

My mother-in-law has been at Golden Age. I observed the staff was helpful, very quick to respond to her, and she just thought they were wonderful. She used to work in a nursing home for many years and she did bookkeeping, and somehow they let her think she was helping them with the bookkeeping. She never really did something I don’t know if they let her hang around, or if it wasjust all in her head. Everybody was really sweet about it. I like that it she had a private area. They had two or three rooms I think and they had their own little sitting area and dining table for the three rooms. It wasn’t like she was always out with a million people, and that was really nice; we liked that. I would definitely recommend them. We really thought it was great. The only handicap wasn’t their fault: she was too far away from people she knew. She was very happy and satisfied.

I visited Golden Age Nursing Home. When I walked in, I liked the feel and the appearance. It just had a homier atmosphere to it. The staff that I met with is very helpful and very informative. I don’t know that any nursing home is affordable; it's not out of line with anything else. I'm not really sure, but I think they have a gym and a swimming pool.
