My brother moved into The AbbeWood. Everything's been going fine. The people are nice and polite. They check on my brother and are concerned if he doesn't show up to dinner, if he's not feeling well, or whatever. I don't think I have a negative opinion of them. The facility is very nicely kept up and updated. It looks nice. They've got breakfast and dinner for them as part of the plan. They have an exercise room. They have different activities that they can participate in.

The AbbeWood is like an upscale hotel when you come in. It has good security, and the people are friendly and helpful. The person showed me an efficiency suite and a one-bedroom suite. I chose the one-bedroom because the efficiency was just too packed together for me. I'm still moving in, and I'm still bringing in boxes from the house. Everybody's been very helpful. There is a beauty shop, a snack bar that's open 24/7, and a gift shop where you can go and buy stuff. They have different religious programs, there's a Catholic mass, you can go to a Bible study, and they have people coming in presenting programs of various kinds. There's always somebody here to help if you need it. They'll help you go down to dinner if you need that, or they'll bring it to you if you can't make it down there at all. They're very, very nice and kind to you. They're willing to compromise on most things. I like scrambled eggs, and they will make them fresh for me. The residents seem to really enjoy the activities. They have card games, bingo, exercise classes, outings, and buses that will take you to your doctors' appointments.

We toured The AbbeWood for my parents. The community was beautiful. It was well kept up. It was gorgeous. The problem for us, it was too big. It's out in the middle of nowhere, first of all, so there is no place where my parents could walk easily to get a sandwich or go shopping or any of that. The facility was beautiful, but too many levels, and so my mom would have literally become a hermit, and she would have stayed in her room because she would have been afraid to get lost. The apartments were gorgeous. Everybody we met was very friendly, very nice, organized, but a little less personable than the other facility. They were more about how things would get paid for and making sure that money wasn't an issue. They were more concerned about that than finding out ways that they could help. There were not many activities at that time because of COVID.

I've lived in The AbbeWood since last November. They told me that it is independent living, but I would have to qualify it as a nursing home and not an independent living. It's not run like what I'm used to. I am very unhappy and I can't wait to get out of here; I just don't like it. I have the strangest feeling here. I'm not comfortable at all, and I want to get out. The staff is fine, the front-desk people are very good, they're very friendly, and the beautician is wonderful. The food is terrible, though, but the facility is adequate. The apartment is adequate. I have a studio apartment that's very simple and very plain. It's adequate; it does what it's supposed to do. With what I pay for rent, I don't think that I am getting my money's worth. They don't have a garden, although they're making one. They don't have an outside -- there's nothing outside. In other words, if you want to go outside to take a walk, you can do that: there's a sidewalk out front. As for a place to sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery, there is no scenery, and there are no outside areas at all. I wouldn't recommend it if you desire to have an outside place to sit, like I used to do at my former place. I would sit out in front and it was so nice. Here, there is nothing to look at except traffic and another building -- that's it.

My mom resided here for about 1 year. Staff were always wonderful, food was good and the grounds and room were clean.

My mother was a resident of the ABBEWOOD for over 10 years. She was independent living for most of those years! It was not like anything I had ever thought a IL facility would be. The staff was amazing (yes there was some turn over in that time period) but everyone we came in contact with was caring and compassionate. They all went out of their way to assure that not only my mom was comfortable, but that we as a family were also! My mom's apartment was kept very clean as was the rest of the facility. There were events going on many days and they would even go up and remind my mom of these and walk her down! They had staff doing nails on Mondays, guest speaker and singers and bingo. There outings calendar was always filled and it helped to make the residents feel as if they were independent but also cared for. I can say it was a positive experience and I was very sad when we had to move her due to declining mental and physical health! The Abbewood is amazing and well worth the visit if you are looking for a caring, clean, well run and fabulous place to reside!

Abbewood is an exceptional, caring place with good care and very good food. My mother is enjoying herself immensely there. There's a beautiful pond in the front yard and a courtyard inside that she can always access. It is very attractive outside. She has the studio that is large enough for a bed, TV, two armchairs, and a table and chair set. There are a lot of musical events, bingo, and religious services held in the chapel.

The Abbewood is really nice. The rooms were clean, the people were nice, and they've got a lot of things to do. They've got transportation if you want transportation, but the rate was a bit high. They've got Bingo, different trips, card games, and different groups coming in. I liked the musical groups.

My grandfather is in The AbbeWood. When I first saw it, I thought it was very nice and very clean. The people are very friendly, and the rooms seem to be very nicely done and kept up. If you have a question or if you want them to come in to do something, they’re right there. They have senior exercise groups every day and bingo, trivia groups, cards, and a library facility there. They have three different areas where people can join in things and do puzzles. They had a movie night one night and a nice little chapel. They have entertainment that comes in once in a while, like people playing guitars or accordions. There is a men’s club that meets once a week and a laundry facility for those capable of doing their own laundry or housekeeping that comes in every two weeks to take bedding and towels and to wash them, plus clean the apartments. They have bus services that take them to different things. We’ve been very satisfied with what he has, and he seems to be adjusting very well there.

I visited Abbewood. The staff had given me a tour and so on. It was lovely and well kept. Everything was super-nice, but for $2500, she lost me right on the spot. The rooms were a little small. They have an activity calendar. At Abbewood, they have a full calendar of lunches, field trips, and speakers. The staff who gave me the tour was good though. She was very pleasant and thorough.

This is an exceptional community with friendly and caring staff. The management is involved and works side by side with staff and residnets to ensure safety and security. This is a fun place to visit and the Residents are always engaged and active. Assistance is there is needed and independence when you don't. Would recommend as an A++, great job Jeff and staff!
