My mother is currently staying here. My mom has dementia and a year ago she was staying with me. She fell a couple times and broke her pelvic bone. The surgery aggravated the dementia and she went downhill pretty fast requiring 24 hour care. She has been in 3 different homes on the east side and when she was still able to convey her thoughts this was the only home where she liked the staff and told me that she knew they cared about her. To me that is far more important than any other factor. I know she is as happy as she can be under these terrifying circumstances. As of 12/5/16 I signed her up for hospice care that works closely with the staff here to improve her care even more and from my observations once again they have come through with flying colors in caring for my mom.

My husband has moved into The Residence at Salem Woods. I think they’re a little disorganized. Sometimes, I don’t think the right hand knows what the left hand is doing. I like the staff, though. They take good care of my husband. The room is big, and it fits him in his physical condition.
