"My father was at Cameo Care Center after a recent hospitalization. The facility was in good repair, no odors of urine that I have experienced in other facilities. The residents appear to happy and are engaged in activities whenever I visit. If I have a concern or complaint, there are staff members available to assist. If they cannot help me, they get back to me in a reasonable amount of time. I have a large family and each member can have different expectations. The facility tries to accomodate each one of us to the best of their ability, even when we are being difficult to deal with. They try very hard to make sure that dad is comfortable, safe and adjusting. He is picky with his food preferences, and changes his mind frequently and the kitchen staff does whatever they can. Our family has had an overall good experience at Cameo. "

"I went to Clement Manor, but sounds like they don’t have a continuing care. You just take care of that yourself. It was very nice, and it’s a big place. I just saw a couple of places, rooms, and apartments, and they just looked really big. One thing I didn’t like is that they didn’t allow pets. The one thing that turned me off is the way she said, you can stay in your apartment if you are incapacitated, but then you have to make arrangements if you want assisted living. "

"Long-term care portion was great. CNA's and nurses were very caring, dietary staff were accommodating to needs. My mom needed therapy for a short time and she loved all the therapists. "

"VMP Healthcare & Community Living seemed very clean, but it's more institutional. There's a main desk and then it's all corridors going off from there. The lobby area was not as welcoming. I saw the calendars of activities and they were on par with everybody else. They have music, arts and crafts and bingo. The rooms were smaller, more like a dormitory. There's a little more wear and tear on the building. The building itself was a little older or looked a little older. They don't have central air, and that was an issue. The staff was very kind, welcoming and knowledgeable. They can improve on building maintenance. The windows looked pretty old and they have in-window air-conditioners with pieces of wood holding them in place. It looked kind of sloppy."

"The Terrace at St Francis is part of a medical system in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I had toured it at one time. It a well kept building with studio and one bedroom apartment. The staff includes nurses and aides. A Chaplin is also available for Sunday mass for the residents. The resident enjoys their meals in a central dining room located of each of the 3 floors. When I toured was between meals, but there was a pot of coffee brewing and the residents were free to enjoy it when every it like. It also had a small general store for small items like tooth paste, denture cream and shaving cream. Each apartment had a kitchenette where the resident if able could prepare a bowl of cereal or pot of coffee. The staff provided all the medications and assisted with dressing and bathing the residents as needed. The residents that I encountered on the tour seems happy and content. I would say The Terrace seemed to be a pleasant comfortable place to live if you need assistance in your later years. "

"My grandmother was a resident of St. Ann's. This Catholic nursing home is also the home of many retired nuns who live in a different part of the facility. I have seen a few different nursing homes due to my aging grandparents, but this nursing home was one of the better ones. There were ample activities such as crafts, music, games, and even field trips for the residents. From what I saw, they were treated with respect and kindness. The most negative thing I witnessed had to do with lack of staffing. When my grandmother would ring for help, it would take quite awhile for anyone to come and I would have to go and find someone to help my grandmother to the bathroom, etc. The facility itself was very clean and the people were always friendly. They would come and take my grandma to the facility's chapel every week. They would make sure she was eating and try to get her to socialize. Even when she became very sick and she only had days to live, they called a resident nun to come sit with her and pray for her. It was comforting. "

"My mother was in rehab at Tudor Oaks Senior Living. She loved it. She said the food was really good, and that's one of the important things to my mother. They brought her snacks, and the therapy was there every day working with her. I was there when they did an evaluation, when they thought she could go home, and they were very thorough with that. They did very well there."

"Mercy Residential and Rehab was nice -- nothing fancy-- but adequate. The staff was good. They kept us updated as to my aunt's status and what they were doing with her. We got a shared room for her, and it was adequate. My first impression of this place was that "this isn't home," and it is not meant to be home. My aunt though commented that the food was very good. She was there for physical therapy, but they had daily activities for the residents like bingo and other games. What stood out to me regarding this facility was the caring nature of the staff. Many of them were there for the patients. When my aunt ended up in the hospital and when we went back to the rehab facility to pick the rest of her clothing, the staff that met us were all very concerned about her. "

"My aunt has been to 3 other places I can honestly say that Allis is the best so far. The therapy department is AMAZING. She is here for a stroke and has come such a long way in a very short time. Granted the building needs a little upgrade. After seeing the ratings, I was a bit skeptical but my parents asked me to tour anyways because not many other places accept her insurance and they refused for her to return to the other 3 places she was at. So I came to tour and found parking to be a little challenging but was welcomed warmly. Then as I waited for the admission person to come give me the tour, there were a few men in the lobby discussing the Packers and I asked them how they liked it here. They had nothing but nice things to say. One did point out the food was not the greatest. When my aunt arrived, her room had welcome balloons outside her door and she had a nice gift basket on her bedside table filled with all sorts of things she can use during her stay. It was a nice pick me up. None of the other places did anything like that for her. My parents live in FL so I come here daily to check on my aunt. The staff are always willing to talk my parents when they call and and the staff answer all of our questions. I even am able to talk to her doctor who follows her here Her aid lets me know if she participated in activities or if she is a little under the weather. When she does not go to any activities they have someone who comes into the room to talk to her or do something with her at her beside. I understand not everyone has a good experience and people seem quick to write something bad but I wanted to wait until I was able to have enough time spent in the building to make my own assessment and I am very pleased. I guess you get out of it what you put in."

"My mom stayed with Linden Grove for three weeks following her knee surgery. The staff was helpful, attentive, caring and did what they could to make her stay enjoyable. Linden Grove provided activities daily for the all the residents and patients, my mom really enjoyed playing bingo and made friends with other residents. Every evening Linden Grove provided a nice snack and even had cocktails once a week. My mom attended physical therapy daily and they showed my mom correct ways to place weight on her new knee, how to get in and out of vehicles and how to function in her home. Linden Grove made sure that I, as her only daughter, was involved in her care in Linden Grove and out. All of our concerns were heard and addressed to our satisfaction. The staff spent time with my mom talking to her and getting to know her, this made my mom feel more welcome and that she was more of a guest than a patient. Overall my mom's experience was a good one at Linden Grove and when she needed to stay somewhere for aftercare again, Linden Grove was on the top of her list. "

"I was impressed by the level of care at St. Camillus. I liked the variety of activities that they offered and the rooms' layouts. "

"The staff were really friendly. They showed us around and even introduced us to some of the clients that went there. This shocked me because usually when we visit different facilities they're really dry. Some don't take the time to talk to you or ask if you have questions. There was one time we looked at a facility and they gave us the quickest tour I have ever experienced. They zoomed right through it. That along with there dry voice and "i don't want to be here" attitude definitely got them scratched off of our list. if they can be so dry and careless with a simple tour, then that leads me to believe that they'll be careless with my grandmother. that's my biggest fear. no one wants their grandmother to be treated poorly anywhere at any time. That's why i look for quality facilities with genuine caring people. "

"Lutheran Home was more of a hospital type of place. They were very busy, but they took the time to show me around, and they showed me everything. So that experience was very good, and I think they do very well with the people. They had different sized rooms in which some may have the bathroom in-between one room and another while others were private. They had some activities, and I thought you get good care there. "
