"Harbour Village was fantastic. The people who took me around their memory care were great. The only thing I found was that it was fairly expensive, but it was all very beautiful. It was like a high-end hotel and everybody was nice. It was very clean. They seemed active. The people have been gracious, very caring, and very willing to listen."

"My brother and I toured Layton Terrace Senior Living together and we both liked it. The lady who took us around was very helpful and very informative. If we had a question, she answered it. The rooms were sufficient. What they would have for my mom is almost like an efficiency apartment. It was all in one room, but it seemed to be designed well and we were fine with it. Then they had areas where a memory care resident could go outside and sit sometimes. They also had areas where they would gather together at meals and do activities. They would play bingo there, do some artwork stuff, play board games/cards, and have some entertainment on occasion. So, we were pleased with them."

"I toured Library Square. It doesn't have memory care there, and mom has Alzheimer's. We don't think she needs memory care right now, but I wanted her to be in a place where she doesn't have to move again. I was very happy with Library Square. I toured two assisted living rooms there, and they were very nice. They were two one-bedrooms that varied in size. The first one-bedroom was 700 square feet; it was really beautiful and very large. The other one-bedroom was more like 550 square feet, and that was fine, too. They were both very nice, just different sizes. The person who gave me the tour was very helpful. I've been on the phone with her several times, just planning on sending my mom there. She did a good job."

"Howard Village Senior Living is pretty much what I am looking for. However, I wanted a better exercise room, and they only have a few little things: a bike, but not a full gym. The staff was very welcoming, very friendly, and very thorough. The building was excellent. It was very clean, very neat, very bright, and had a welcoming environment."

"We toured Discovery Commons Brookfield. I viewed a one-bedroom apartment. It was very nice. It's a beautiful facility. It's quite glamorous. It's larger. I thought it looked nice. They take care of their employees very well. I was told that they're really into making their employees happy, which will make the residents happy. They offer a lot of care for assisted living. My first impression is that the people aren't quite as sick as they are at the other facility. They rejected my aunt at the last minute. They did an assessment, which was rushed. Maybe they don't feel capable for people who need a lot of care and daily attention. My aunt is still somewhat bedbound. It hasn't been that long since she had her surgery. She needs a lot of physical therapy. She's 100 years old. You can't expect her to be in the condition of a 70-year-old, I guess, which is what I'm getting at. The staff that I met, the director and her assistant, were good. It's very clean and organized. They had a library. It's two-story, and the hallways are so long. I mean, I kept picturing my aunts navigating those halls."

"Hart Park Square is a 5 for the people, everything that's going on, and it's really nice when you walk in. The staff was really good, the dining area was really nice, and it was very warm, and comfortable. I was impressed with the amenities. The only problem was the location. We were looking at something farther west of the area."

"I visited Oak Hill Terrace Senior Living's independent living two years ago. They were in the process of remodeling. They had older-looking facilities, but they were in the process of making them more cheerful. The rooms were quite big, and the hallways were good. They didn't have separate laundry facilities, but they had free laundry facilities, so you'd have to go down the hall, but it was free. They had dining service, and they had some kind of system where you could pay for a portion of it, like you'd get a meal every couple of days or something like that. They also had regular religious activities. They used one room for all their activities, and they had a piano there too. It was not fancy, but it was regularly attended. The only main problem was that the parking was outside. I thought the staff was very good. The rooms had carpeting, they had a hallway between the bathroom and the kitchen, and a view outside the living room that was foliage and things like that. There seemed to be enough room, too. I thought it wouldn't be that hard to keep the place clean. They were also on the bus line, which was good."
