"Howard Village Senior Living is pretty much what I am looking for. However, I wanted a better exercise room, and they only have a few little things: a bike, but not a full gym. The staff was very welcoming, very friendly, and very thorough. The building was excellent. It was very clean, very neat, very bright, and had a welcoming environment."

"Harbour Village is wonderful, but it is not for me. The people who assisted me were very helpful and very informative. I talked to the chef. He basically said that because I have severe allergies to seasonings and am gluten-free, it would be difficult for him to handle. They showed me all the amenities, and they were very nice. They showed me the exercise room, the units, and several different studio styles. The set-up of the room was very nice. It is a room with a kitchen, a bedroom, and a living room. They have bingo. They go for walks, and they have the usual activities. The place is very nice, but it is not for me."

"My mom will be moving into Layton Terrace next week. I had a physical tour, and it was great. I met a few people who were just walking through, and they told me what their job is and how my mom would be treated. The staff gave me a tour of a few of the apartments, and then I decided on one of them. I'm really happy with it. I only looked at the assisted living apartments. The studio apartment has a full kitchen, and it's almost 500 square feet. It was lunchtime, and they were serving the people there in the dining room, and it smelled awfully good. I didn't ask for a menu to see it, but the staff told me they had two options. They had more comfort-type food and a healthy menu. She has choices between different menus, so that sounded good to me."

"Hart Park Square Senior Living had no openings. My daughter had a friend who was living there, an older lady who was 90, and she had a nice apartment. That's the only one I got to see because the rest of them were all full. The apartment was very nice, and I thought the price was reasonable, but there are only three apartments in the building. The place seemed very nice, but there was no opening. The staff who assisted us was good. It seemed like they had quite a bit of activities because she had talked about it. What I liked about them was they had a Pick 'n Save. A truck comes in every day, and you can go out to the truck and buy groceries, so I thought that was kind of nice. The building itself was very nice."

"My mother moved here. It's awesome; they work hard to make it feel like a community. They assured me, and I was able to see happy residents. So I know that my mom is going to be cared for. There's so many amenities and those are wonderful as well. She can get her hair done, she can get a manicure and pedicure. My mom is a southern belle, so she likes to have those things available to her, and they have those there, including a hand massage and foot massage. We visited eight places, and this one was the best. I didn't get to sample their food, but the residents seem to brag about it. The facility is beautiful. They had a bird expert come in and talked to the residents about birds, and they have happy hour. They have a rosary group once a week and a prayer group, and that's important for my mom. There's a couple of people that play cards and poker, so they're going to do a poker group on Tuesdays."

"My aunt stayed at Discovery Commons Brookfield, which was very nice but pricey. The people who worked there were wonderful. The facility was new and clean. It was state of the art, but parking was also a problem there. The rooms were smaller than the ones I looked at for my mom, but they were very nice. They did have very nice walk-in showers with a seat hanging from the wall, which was very nice so my aunt could be independent in showering herself. I ate lunch with my aunt, and the food was very good."

"I have had a relative who was a resident at Laurel Oaks Senior Living and a couple of friends who were residents there. So, I'm fairly familiar with the facility. It's an older facility, but it's very clean. The staff was accommodating, but not quite as visible in some instances as with the other places. Sometimes, I've gone to the front desk and there's no one there right away and we had to find somebody. The apartments were reasonably well kept. There was a nurse there for a certain portion of the day and CNAs around-the-clock. They've done some recent updates in the dining room and it's pleasant enough. Since my relative was there, they've added a theater, which was very nice. They had a library. It's a quieter place. There were not as many people roaming around in terms of staff, but I was pleased enough with it that I would have taken my loved one there again."

Review of Oak Crest Blakewood Home
Oak Crest was very clean, and the people were friendly. It was nice, and we really liked it. What we didn't like about it was you can't go from independent to assisted living in the same building....
