"We toured Discovery Commons Brookfield. I viewed a one-bedroom apartment. It was very nice. It's a beautiful facility. It's quite glamorous. It's larger. I thought it looked nice. They take care of their employees very well. I was told that they're really into making their employees happy, which will make the residents happy. They offer a lot of care for assisted living. My first impression is that the people aren't quite as sick as they are at the other facility. They rejected my aunt at the last minute. They did an assessment, which was rushed. Maybe they don't feel capable for people who need a lot of care and daily attention. My aunt is still somewhat bedbound. It hasn't been that long since she had her surgery. She needs a lot of physical therapy. She's 100 years old. You can't expect her to be in the condition of a 70-year-old, I guess, which is what I'm getting at. The staff that I met, the director and her assistant, were good. It's very clean and organized. They had a library. It's two-story, and the hallways are so long. I mean, I kept picturing my aunts navigating those halls."

"Very lovely community with exceptional clinical team! This is our third community in 2 years and I wilsh our senior advisor showed us this community as this is the right fit and the communition is just what we were looking for. We really enjoy the new rent Cafe website to see what the meals are everyday and activities as well as mapy our invoices. If I could give them 10 stars, I would as nothing else in Brookfield stands out like the Auberge!"

"I started with Oak Park Place in June of 2022 for my sister. She was first in assisted living, in a very nice studio but being used to her own home it was difficult for her to adjust, slowly she was also getting more forgetful. She then transitioned into memory care. Like many facilities there were staff changes, issues that needed to be addressed. We went thru a couple directors and now have an excellent Director in Candance who has seen to updating many areas. Hiring new competent staff as needed and always addressing any concerns or questions I may have in a timely manner. The receptionist, Stephanie is outstanding as are many of the CNAs like DeeDee. The Alisha the RN on staff is highly qualified. I know my sister is safe, clean, fed and looked after. I also know if I see anything that needs to be taken care of like laundry or her room straightened it will be addressed that day with an email from Candance affirming. I have been in other facilities which range from 5 star deluxe to below average. I feel Oak Park Place has been improving in many areas since 2022. Am happy with my sister's care, staff and environment, with all things there is always room for improvement and Oak Park Place had done nicely."

"My father has been transfered between the hospital and the Lutheran Home several times over the past 6 months. He has received excellent care. The hospital staff has called the Lutheran Home to compliment them on the care provided as my father's health is quite complicated. While the new rehab facility is beautiful, it is the staff and the cares they provide that matter. Each and every member of his care team - the MD, the RN's, the aides, the Wound Care specialist, the therapists, the dietary aides - all provide caring and competent care. "

"Cost was not real high at Brookdale. It seemed the food was good. They showed me the menu that they had. It seemed like a nice place. "

"Brookdale Brookfield was a possibility for our situation. The rooms were nothing much different than any of the other place. They had a big dining area, places for recreation, and a salon."

"I have a lot of friends here. It's really easy to meet people because there are a lot of activities. We just had a big St. Patrick's Day celebration. Usually the celebrations are followed with a meal in the cafeteria. They have special programs with music or dancing. We had Irish singers and Irish dancers here. We have a lot of standing committees, like a Parkinson's committee that meets. We also have a council meeting and programs for art and painting. Right now, we only have a Catholic service, so I'm trying to get a Protestant service going. I just wrote a book of prayers that they are going to publish. It will help people who have trouble knowing what to pray for or how to pray. It's a good choice. There are people that are mostly independent, but they have somebody doing their laundry. We have housekeepers that come in once a week. If anything happens, like you spill on the carpet or something, they will come in off schedule. They will clean the carpeting for you and help you clean up any mess you make by accident. The staff are very sympathetic. They have a lot of work to do, but they have a good sense of humor. They always greet you in the morning. In the afternoon, they ask how things are. When you put your call light on, they come pretty much on time. They provide meals three times a day, plus they have a bistro with snacks. Food is not very ethnically related. I think people would enjoy having different types of foods, like Italian and Mexican. They have some of that, but probably not enough. This is a beautiful, beautiful place. It is always kept very clean. They vacuum the carpeting every day. They pick up any messes that are left in the hall. We empty our garbage outside of our door, and they always pick it up (practically before you close the door). They are open to new activities. I would say that the value for the dollar is good."

"We moved our mother into Oak Hill Terrace Senior Living. Of the two that we looked at, Oak Hill was by far the smallest and most close knit. It's a nice place. It's under renovation right now with new owners. The family that had owned it for many, many years had retired and a new group had bought it. It's multilevel care, so you can be independent and you can have also assisted living up to a level four. They also have memory care available. They have a super nice and engaged staff. They recognize us by name when we see them and when we call, they address all of our issues and concerns. It was quite a transition and they were very helpful and very supportive and could answer all of our questions, so we were very comfortable with making that move. The rooms were very nice. A one-bedroom apartment is where my mother is. A lot of it is undergoing renovation and updates, but it's a very up-to-date and nice community. She gets meals once a day there and she likes it. She likes the soup, and she likes the variety. Not everything is her cup of tea, but there's always an option for like a hotdog, a hamburger, a grilled cheese, or scrambled eggs with every meal if you don't like what the main course options are. It's very good. They have lots of activities. They have a whole calendar they publish every month and there's stuff from music to bingo to everything. They do a lot to keep the community engaged. They just don't sit in their apartments. They want them all to come out and be together and talk to one another and kind of be a community. It's a great community. The skilled nursing staff, all the people from dietary to the business management, the people who helped us make the transition, they're topnotch. They're working on remodeling and updates to it. It's getting a facelift and it looks great. They have something every day. It's not just one thing once in a while. It's like a day full of activities. It's an adjustment for us from where mom was. To bring in skilled care for her and to do the things they're doing, it's not cheap, but it's a good value, especially if you shop around and look."
