Mom has moved into Brookdale Brookfield. It is an excellent care. They communicate well, they accommodate my mom not wanting to eat meat on Friday, and they get her to church. I don't have any problems whatsoever. The staff members are available, proactive and friendly. My mom is in what they call The Crossings. The Crossings is when you don't qualify to live on the first floor because that's more assisted living. The second floor is for people who all have short-term memory care. However, they all gather every day to partake in activities. They're all very friendly. They may not remember your name, but they'll remember your faces. They're very good. Everyone is very happy on that floor, which is assisted/memory care. My mom says the food is pretty good. The place is beautiful. It is expensive, but as far as getting everything for the buck and they're going above and beyond communicating is great. Value for money is a 5.

I toured Brookdale Brookfield Woelfel Road. It was very clean and very organized. The staff was very professional. They took the time to answer my questions and they gave me a nice tour. They had cards and games. The room looked nice and it had a good size. The whole facility was nice and pleasant.

We toured Brookdale Brookfield Woelfel Road and we were not impressed with it. It didn't smell good when we came in and it was expensive. The only reason I could see for that was the location because Brookfield is more of an upper-class kind of community. But we didn't see anything that warranted a more expensive fee. It was more institutional. The rooms weren't very good. It was an institutional kind of bathroom, not a homey feel at all. The carpeting wasn't nice. I don't think they even had kitchens in the rooms. I don't think they had very much going on at all. While we were there, they had an activity going on in a common area where they were trying to think of animals that start with certain letters. They had a very small library. The dining room looked like a nursing home dining room. It was nice, but the tables were very, very far apart from each other. The lighting was just regular institutional lighting. It didn't have a homey or restaurant feel at all. It was a nice building. The common areas look upper class - the entryway and the lobby, but not the apartments.

Brookdale Brookfield seemed nice. I thought it might have been a little dated. It could need a little more sprucing up in regards to newer things. The TV and lounge area was really good. The outdoor patio and outdoor area were very good. The staff was very nice and professional. The rooms seemed very nice. I wish it were a little bigger, but the bathroom was wonderful. It was a very nice, large bathroom. The shower and bathing area were very, very nice.

The Brookdale facility is very nice. They have many activities, but my mother is in a transition right now. She will be switching on to the family care program in the next year and lots of facilities they would not accept that. They have a memory care area that we were looking at.

My mother chose Brookdale Brookfield because it was closer. However, two weeks after my dad was there, he was moved to hospice. It had everything every other place had, including laundry services and someone who would come in to give him a shower. They seemed to give good care, but we found some things were lacking, like the bathroom was not clean enough, the bed was not neat, the clothing did come back from the laundry when he needed it, etc. They needed to improve on checking them to make sure they were clean. If the nurses saw something that needed to be checked up, then they should tell the cleaning people. If they noticed that there was only one shirt or whatever, they should find out where the laundry was. They tried to take his blood pressure while my mother was there, but the blood pressure pump did not work. So, they had to go to another floor to borrow a blood pressure pump. If he had to go to the doctor’s, we had to bring him because we could not afford the van.

At Brookdale Brookfield, the rooms were nice; I liked the way they were laid out. What really bothered me at the time was that some of the people I saw eating looked like special needs people. The people sat there leaned over, and people had to help feed them. That wasn’t the kind of place we were looking for because my mother-in-law is not that way. However, the staff was very friendly. Everybody was very nice. They offered plenty of activities.

Brookdale Brookfield accommodations were nice for assisted living but not for independent living. They didn’t have independent living. If I was looking for assisted living, it would be very nice. The rooms were spacious.

Mother is at Brookdale Brookfield for about a week now, and from what I can tell they are doing a good job with her. It’s the only facility that would allow her to take her cat. It's also a smaller community, with just 20 residents, and that's what I was looking for.

I was not impressed with Brookdale Brookfield because instead of having apartments, they just had rooms; I didn’t think that was appropriate for my mother. Any of the assisted living places that I’ve seen even before were all apartments, and this was just a room. I can’t see why anybody would want to just sit in a bedroom. Their explanation for this was that it was community living and they want people to come out and do things, but that’s up to the person. There didn’t seem to be a whole lot going on there, but the staff was very nice.

I had a nice tour of Brookdale. The staff was very friendly and informative. It was a nice facility, and it was close to me. It’s in the city of Brookfield, and yet there’s a lot of nature around, trees and places to walk outside. I saw a one room area and wasn’t aware that there were other choices. The food was pretty good.

Avoid this place! They are consistently understaffed and managers and supervisors are unsympathetic to the needs of the residents. They will promise you anything and charge you for it. If you have a loved one there you must be vigilant and then you may still be unhappy with the care your loved one receives.

Brookdale Place was very nice. We looked at their model two-bedroom and two-bath unit. It was not spacious, but it was nice and certainly livable for the two of us. I thought the sanitation was all right. However, I was shocked at the price per month.

Cost was not real high at Brookdale. It seemed the food was good. They showed me the menu that they had. It seemed like a nice place.

I am in Brookdale Place Brookfield. They have very nice people, but the staff is changing quickly. They are not paid enough. You will have care, but you have to know exactly what you want because they are in within a minute, and then they're gone and turn to someone else. They have a lot of people they have to care for. If you ask them to do something, they may or may not do it depending on the job, and if takes five minutes, you'll probably not have it. My room is a mess. It looks like a teenager lives there because it is very difficult for me to clean something up, especially when I have no place to put anything, so I ended up messing it up more than anything else. That's what I am looking at, more space and a one-on-one type. They have very good food. They have activities, but we don't go out more. However, they are very expensive. I am being charged $50,000 a year to live here, and I don't have an income like that because my income is only $43,000 a year.
