"Oak Park Place is a very nice place, but it's also the question of money. It's incredibly expensive. I know other people who have put some parents in there. Nice grounds. Everything is beautifully taken care of. I really didn't get to talk to the staff. That's a huge factor. You want to know the staff and who's taking care of your mom. "

"It was wonderful. Though the apartment that I would want for my mom, she can't go in because she doesn't have a dementia diagnosis. None of the other apartments were appropriate, but it's a wonderful, beautiful, stunning place. I loved it, but it was just not right for my mom. The facility is fantastic and beautiful. The apartments were nice. There's no furniture or anything, so you have to furnish everything yourself. A lot of the places have at least the bed and dressers, and they have nothing in there. The person who gave me the tour was phenomenal. He was wonderful, I can't say enough, he's newer, and he just did a wonderful job. They have activities, and they try to engage the people. The only issue that I had was, it wasn't right for my mother because she doesn't have the right diagnosis to stay on the dementia side. Then on the other side, you have to walk. It was a distance for me to walk to get to the dining room, so you'd have to be pretty darn independent or in an automatic wheelchair. It's just too far for her to walk, and she's not going to go in a wheelchair for the dining room. Their menu looked wonderful; I was drooling when I was there."

"Mother is at Brookdale Brookfield for about a week now, and from what I can tell they are doing a good job with her. It’s the only facility that would allow her to take her cat. It's also a smaller community, with just 20 residents, and that's what I was looking for. "

"I toured Hart Park Square Senior Living. I liked that they showed me several models. I liked that there's an emergency switch in each of the models, and they said you flip this one switch by 9 a.m. because if your light doesn't light up, they call you on. If you don't answer your phone, they come up and knock on your door. And, if you don't answer that, they use the key to come in and check on you. They supply all the appliances, like a stove, refrigerator, and microwave. The staff was congenial, answered my questions, and didn't rush me."

"My brother and I toured Layton Terrace Senior Living together and we both liked it. The lady who took us around was very helpful and very informative. If we had a question, she answered it. The rooms were sufficient. What they would have for my mom is almost like an efficiency apartment. It was all in one room, but it seemed to be designed well and we were fine with it. Then they had areas where a memory care resident could go outside and sit sometimes. They also had areas where they would gather together at meals and do activities. They would play bingo there, do some artwork stuff, play board games/cards, and have some entertainment on occasion. So, we were pleased with them."

"We went to look here, and it was beautiful inside. It was close to the capital drive, so I was concerned about the noise and stuff, but I didn't hear anything inside. They have different levels of care. Everything was so well done and pretty. It looks like a nice place to be. They have a washer and dryer. The staff who gave us a tour was very nice and showed us every option. The facility was super clean. The dining room was very nice."

I was exceptionally pleased with the 2 bedroom apartment and the beautiful grounds with raised beds for residents to do their own gardening. Very clean building. "We toured Villa St. Francis Assisted Living. They were very organized, and someone was waiting for us to give us the tour. She went through everything. She gave us a brochure listing the services and cost. The room wasn't big, but it was nice. It had a small refrigerator and a big closet. The bathroom size was good. It was a very clean place. They have a beauty salon, a church, and a chapel, which is nice."
