"The staff were really friendly. They showed us around and even introduced us to some of the clients that went there. This shocked me because usually when we visit different facilities they're really dry. Some don't take the time to talk to you or ask if you have questions. There was one time we looked at a facility and they gave us the quickest tour I have ever experienced. They zoomed right through it. That along with there dry voice and "i don't want to be here" attitude definitely got them scratched off of our list. if they can be so dry and careless with a simple tour, then that leads me to believe that they'll be careless with my grandmother. that's my biggest fear. no one wants their grandmother to be treated poorly anywhere at any time. That's why i look for quality facilities with genuine caring people. "

"Village at Manor Park is a large facility on the southwest side of Milwaukee. It has many levels of care. There is independent senior living, assisted living and nursing home. I have blind cousin living in the assisted living center and is quarantined a bed in the nursing home when the time come.Bill, has a beautiful room overlooking the court yard which is can only see the light and the dark but says he enjoys the sounds of the people out there and being out there in good weather. The faculty is geared to his condition and has made accommodations for his needs such as making more things in Braille so he can get around more indecently. He says the meals are excellent and the staff is very pleasant and helpful. He had lived in the home for the blind most of his life but says that "The Village" is much better and he feels safer there. He attends a variety of activates including bingo where he has a Braille bingo card and also plays "sheep head" with other men using Braille playing cards. They have many holiday program music programs which Bill says are great.He is very happy and satisfied at the Village at Manor Park. "

"Mercy Residential and Rehab was nice -- nothing fancy-- but adequate. The staff was good. They kept us updated as to my aunt's status and what they were doing with her. We got a shared room for her, and it was adequate. My first impression of this place was that "this isn't home," and it is not meant to be home. My aunt though commented that the food was very good. She was there for physical therapy, but they had daily activities for the residents like bingo and other games. What stood out to me regarding this facility was the caring nature of the staff. Many of them were there for the patients. When my aunt ended up in the hospital and when we went back to the rehab facility to pick the rest of her clothing, the staff that met us were all very concerned about her. "

"My mom stayed with Linden Grove for three weeks following her knee surgery. The staff was helpful, attentive, caring and did what they could to make her stay enjoyable. Linden Grove provided activities daily for the all the residents and patients, my mom really enjoyed playing bingo and made friends with other residents. Every evening Linden Grove provided a nice snack and even had cocktails once a week. My mom attended physical therapy daily and they showed my mom correct ways to place weight on her new knee, how to get in and out of vehicles and how to function in her home. Linden Grove made sure that I, as her only daughter, was involved in her care in Linden Grove and out. All of our concerns were heard and addressed to our satisfaction. The staff spent time with my mom talking to her and getting to know her, this made my mom feel more welcome and that she was more of a guest than a patient. Overall my mom's experience was a good one at Linden Grove and when she needed to stay somewhere for aftercare again, Linden Grove was on the top of her list. "

"My mom moved into Dickson Hollow. It's good, but some of the R.A.'s are questionable. The activities are very good, it's outstanding, it's just that the lower-level staff is questionable at best, but I think everybody has issues with that. My mom's room is outstanding, and she likes the food very much."

"I went to Clement Manor, but sounds like they don’t have a continuing care. You just take care of that yourself. It was very nice, and it’s a big place. I just saw a couple of places, rooms, and apartments, and they just looked really big. One thing I didn’t like is that they didn’t allow pets. The one thing that turned me off is the way she said, you can stay in your apartment if you are incapacitated, but then you have to make arrangements if you want assisted living. "

"St Ann Rest Home is an older community, but it's really good. They have a Polish staff and my dad is from Poland so it's the best fit. The service has been very good, and the food is also good, even though the dining area is very basic. They get him up to walk around and do physical exercises twice a day, they also have math every day, and a whole lot of other activities. They have a room for crafts and a library, but they don't have buses to take the residents out. The rooms are small, just single-person rooms, but the bathroom is very well-kept and modern."

"My sisters and I chose this facility because it was clean and close to all of our homes. We had also never heard anything negative about it. I visited my father 2-3 times a week-unannounced. We had purchased him some clothes, but most of them were stolen by the staff-even though we put his name on them with black markers. Even his new underwear were stolen. There were activities for the residents and the food looked reasonably healthy. The staff seemed friendly, but it seems they had a high turnover rate with the certified nursing assistants. I sometimes visited on 1st or 2nd shift and rarely saw the same CNA's. When my father became more ill, he went into the hospital. We went to his nursing home room to get his clothes because we were told by his doctor that he was too ill to be returning to the nursing home. When we arrived, they had already had his clothes packed and someone else was in his bed when we went to his room. I was disgusted by this because it showed me how important money was to this facility and that they had no consideration for his family. "

"My mother is not an easy resident to handle and she's got several serious medical conditions. The staff have always been kind and caring. A member of our family visits routinely and she has not had any complaints about my mother's care or the cleanliness of the room. The staff are very responsive and helpful to her and to those of us who live further away and check up on my mother by phone. The onsite dialysis is invaluable. We had my mother in other rehab places before this one (she'snow in long term nursing care) and we are much happier with Brookfield Rehab. I wish it were easier to get a hold of the doctors, but the nurses are all very responsive and helpful. "

"Long-term care portion was great. CNA's and nurses were very caring, dietary staff were accommodating to needs. My mom needed therapy for a short time and she loved all the therapists. "

"My mom is currently at Franciscan Place. They've missed four therapy sessions that they never made up and never told her they weren't coming. It's just frustrating, but it's better than the other places she's been. It's quieter and you don't hear people yelling. You don't have that terrible odor when you walk in the door. There are some pluses, but they're always short-staffed. She got a haircut the other day. They have a little pantry thing for the visitors, which is nice. They'd bring her meals to her room 3 times a day and help her change at night. I go there every day and I get her up and exercise her because there's nobody there to exercise her or get her out of bed. I help her brush her teeth and wash her face. When they do come into the room, I'd say 90% of the girls are very kind and good. "

"The Terrace at St Francis is part of a medical system in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I had toured it at one time. It a well kept building with studio and one bedroom apartment. The staff includes nurses and aides. A Chaplin is also available for Sunday mass for the residents. The resident enjoys their meals in a central dining room located of each of the 3 floors. When I toured was between meals, but there was a pot of coffee brewing and the residents were free to enjoy it when every it like. It also had a small general store for small items like tooth paste, denture cream and shaving cream. Each apartment had a kitchenette where the resident if able could prepare a bowl of cereal or pot of coffee. The staff provided all the medications and assisted with dressing and bathing the residents as needed. The residents that I encountered on the tour seems happy and content. I would say The Terrace seemed to be a pleasant comfortable place to live if you need assistance in your later years. "

"Mom was initially admitted for rehab in May. Therapists worked with her gently appropriate to her capabilities. Kept us informed of her progress and offered suggestions. Unrelated to the facility her health declined and was then admitted into Hospice. During her entire stay all staff took excellent care of mom and were extremely caring to us the family. Answered all our questions and sought us out with updates when we came onto the floor. Food was good and she was able to get substitutes for things she did not like. Social Worker helped us navigate through the changes with mom and gave us recommendations of next steps. The facility itself is not new and shiny, could use some updating, but hallways were wide and place was kept clean. Her care received was given by wonderful staff not by brick and mortar. I can't say enough for the facility and staff. "
