Excellent doctors onsite, and full fitness center with trainer. its a place with a heart and soul! "My aunt has been to 3 other places I can honestly say that Allis is the best so far. The therapy department is AMAZING. She is here for a stroke and has come such a long way in a very short time. Granted the building needs a little upgrade. After seeing the ratings, I was a bit skeptical but my parents asked me to tour anyways because not many other places accept her insurance and they refused for her to return to the other 3 places she was at. So I came to tour and found parking to be a little challenging but was welcomed warmly. Then as I waited for the admission person to come give me the tour, there were a few men in the lobby discussing the Packers and I asked them how they liked it here. They had nothing but nice things to say. One did point out the food was not the greatest. When my aunt arrived, her room had welcome balloons outside her door and she had a nice gift basket on her bedside table filled with all sorts of things she can use during her stay. It was a nice pick me up. None of the other places did anything like that for her. My parents live in FL so I come here daily to check on my aunt. The staff are always willing to talk my parents when they call and and the staff answer all of our questions. I even am able to talk to her doctor who follows her here Her aid lets me know if she participated in activities or if she is a little under the weather. When she does not go to any activities they have someone who comes into the room to talk to her or do something with her at her beside. I understand not everyone has a good experience and people seem quick to write something bad but I wanted to wait until I was able to have enough time spent in the building to make my own assessment and I am very pleased. I guess you get out of it what you put in."

"My mother has been staying at Glendale Care and Rehab Center. Her care was very caring and impeccable. The facilities are clean. They always smell fresh. The people in here are caring. My mom's room is good. The trash is always empty. The CNAs are very attentive. They do listen. They play bingo and puzzles. They have a church service."

"My experience with Colonial Manor was a poor one. My mother was a resident there for about 5 months or so. The receptionist was rarely able to answer any questions when she was there to answer the phones. Calls to the nurses stations frequently went unanswered and when they did answer, they were usually reluctant to give information. My mother would be left in bed for hours at a time and her calls for assistance were ignored at times. There was one particularly disturbing incident in which my sister went to pick my mother up after my mom had returned to the facility from an appointment and my mom's wheelchair was missing. When my sister inquired about it, the staff claimed to have no knowledge of its whereabouts. As my sister was leaving, she noticed a patient in the lobby sitting in my mother's chair. One of the care providers had entered my mom's room while she was gone and took her chair and gave it to another patient. The caretakers were often rude and would say things like "I'm not going to keep coming in here to help you!" "

"My sisters and I chose this facility because it was clean and close to all of our homes. We had also never heard anything negative about it. I visited my father 2-3 times a week-unannounced. We had purchased him some clothes, but most of them were stolen by the staff-even though we put his name on them with black markers. Even his new underwear were stolen. There were activities for the residents and the food looked reasonably healthy. The staff seemed friendly, but it seems they had a high turnover rate with the certified nursing assistants. I sometimes visited on 1st or 2nd shift and rarely saw the same CNA's. When my father became more ill, he went into the hospital. We went to his nursing home room to get his clothes because we were told by his doctor that he was too ill to be returning to the nursing home. When we arrived, they had already had his clothes packed and someone else was in his bed when we went to his room. I was disgusted by this because it showed me how important money was to this facility and that they had no consideration for his family. "

"The Terrace at St Francis is part of a medical system in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I had toured it at one time. It a well kept building with studio and one bedroom apartment. The staff includes nurses and aides. A Chaplin is also available for Sunday mass for the residents. The resident enjoys their meals in a central dining room located of each of the 3 floors. When I toured was between meals, but there was a pot of coffee brewing and the residents were free to enjoy it when every it like. It also had a small general store for small items like tooth paste, denture cream and shaving cream. Each apartment had a kitchenette where the resident if able could prepare a bowl of cereal or pot of coffee. The staff provided all the medications and assisted with dressing and bathing the residents as needed. The residents that I encountered on the tour seems happy and content. I would say The Terrace seemed to be a pleasant comfortable place to live if you need assistance in your later years. "

"Village at Manor Park has everything, they're a continuum community and they have everything. We toured independent living, we toured their long-term healthcare, but we didn't tour their memory unit. They also have rehabilitation. The Aurora Health Care has a community clinic on their campus. It's a very large community, and we have been trying to get accepted there because it's certainly at the top of our list. And they will accommodated you. For instance, if they don't have the room you want they will put you someplace when you're ready to move, at least until a room opens up. What stood out to me was that the person we spoke to sat down and asked what we wanted, and we just dropped by there unannounced a couple weeks ago. The people we've engaged in the halls seemed to be very happy to be there. This is the place where the amenities excel every other place we've been to. They have literally a catalog, and they have a program for people of the community. They might take you by bus to the outskirts of Chicago to a play, they might take you to Madison, or other places. These are all the commercial buses, it's not cheap (it's $80 a person per trip), but that would include a meal. We have seen nothing that matches that in terms of what they offer. Also, their location is a few miles away from the Medical College, Froedtert Health Center, West Allis Memorial Hospital, and St Luke's, which is an internationally-known cardiac hospital. So the location is excellent, and they're in a residential neighborhood. The building is aged, and it varies. One of the unusual things is that they're connecting their newest routing with another independent residence that they have abridged over the drive. It's actually a very large and pleasant space that takes you over, and they have ground parking. The rates there are unbelievably low, and include ten meals a month, for a rate of $2,200. And the apartment they made arrangements for us to see was very adequate. All of their buildings are connected either by a bridge or by tunnels. They have a fitness program, a bistro, and a formal dining room, and their chef has been there 15 years."

"Long-term care portion was great. CNA's and nurses were very caring, dietary staff were accommodating to needs. My mom needed therapy for a short time and she loved all the therapists. "

"We visited several facilities all around this area. We were so impressed with the Congregational Home because it was so friendly. During our visit everyone greeted us - residents, custodial, nursing, and other support staff. Everybody and everything seemed clean and well cared for. There were activities offered all day long, including an additional program especially for socialization and memory. We also liked that there is a chaplain there. Very impressive! "

"I went to Clement Manor, but sounds like they don’t have a continuing care. You just take care of that yourself. It was very nice, and it’s a big place. I just saw a couple of places, rooms, and apartments, and they just looked really big. One thing I didn’t like is that they didn’t allow pets. The one thing that turned me off is the way she said, you can stay in your apartment if you are incapacitated, but then you have to make arrangements if you want assisted living. "
