"The tour we had at Luther Manor went very well. It's just a bit of an older community home, and the physical layout of the building seemed very cramped. We visited one studio and a one-bedroom and they were both very small, but the staff was very helpful. The dining areas were very large and very spacious. Then they have courtyards and patios, too."

"My mom was in the rehab center. The staff is great, very caring! The facility is beautiful and the food was terrific. We felt the pt team was super! I strongly recommend Congregational Home for you or your loved ones. "

"I was in here for the full time that Medicare allowed for broken ankle. I had some problems initially because I arrived on a Saturday and that completely threw them off, and so my wheelchair was too wide and didn’t fit me. They knew I needed a wheelchair, a walker and a chair, but the wheelchair was too wide that I could barely roll it and the walker was too low for me and couldn’t be adjusted because it was broken. And then, I sat on the chair and it went down and wouldn’t go up. So I kept complaining that I needed a different wheelchair, a different walker, and a different chair. Eventually, on Monday I got all the right stuff. It’s a big residential place and a lot of people live in the apartments. This was a separate 20 or 30-bed unit and I was there for a short-term stay, and so I had very intensive therapy every day. I could barely turn around and there was another therapist there, and they really made you work, which is what you’re supposed to do. So I had a little time to do other things than eat and sleep and then went home on time as scheduled. I got excellent care from the therapist but I wasn’t crazy about the nursing assistants. The rest of the staff was very cooperative. The nursing care was good; they listened and did what they needed to do. The meals were always good. There were a lot of fresh fruits. My menu always said diabetic on it, but they never really restricted what they brought me. They have a lot of different pieces of equipment, but they are not the elaborate commercial kind of things."

"I am giving Franciscan Place a 5 star, not because "everything" is perfect, that would be realistically impossible. However, they do take very good care of my mom and they strive to do their best. My mom has been in their care for one year. She came in on Rehab and it was determined after returning home for a very short time that she needed to be in LTC. She returned to Fran as a full time resident in May of 2018. I was hesitating whether or not to name caregivers who my mom talks about and whom I've witnessed give exceptional care, I really don't want the others to feel they are in anyway less appreciated. You all are a great team! Having said that, Cliff has been a Godsend. I work in an assisted living/memory care facility myself and I witness this young man just do so much right! He comes into her room and the 1st thing he does is get down to her level to talk to her. My mom has hallucinations and gets very scared and upset. She knows when Cliff is on, she is safe. He will take a moment to pray with her, to chase away whatever she is seeing and never ever laugh or make fun of her. ...and he always brings her fresh water (which she tell me about too). Then there is Hannah, one of her day nurses...Mom loves her "Haddie" as she calls her. "She's the only one who knows how to put my hearing aids in right" according to mom :-) And Rae, the evening nurse. When she is on, mom tells me "My Mother" is on tonight. That is not a bad thing! Mom says I can't make a move without her coming in to see if I'm alright.....Ummm, Mom, that's a good, attentive nurse. If she hears something fall she does run into the room, I've been there when she has done so. I'm convinced that woman can hear a pin drop. I also appreciate all the activity workers making sure she gets out and stays involved! So BRAVO Franciscan Place! Christine Brown"

"The residents always look like they are having a great time. Very great rehab department that goes that extra mile to take care of their patients. Always something going on in activities from games, movies, bingo and weekly entertainment. I recommend the place."

"The therapists at Brookfield Rehabilitation & Specialty Care Center were wonderful, and everybody was friendly and accommodating. They had music, and they had a poetry talk session to get you involved in poetry. It was very good. "

"The staff in ManorCare Health Services (Heartland Health) in Pewaukee are all very professional and good, they work hard, and they do their best. They have shared rooms with two beds per room. Everyone was really nice except for one staff member that I met. The food is like hospital food, breakfast is the same every morning, but lunch is different because my husband has to have low-sodium diet."

"Lutheran Home was more of a hospital type of place. They were very busy, but they took the time to show me around, and they showed me everything. So that experience was very good, and I think they do very well with the people. They had different sized rooms in which some may have the bathroom in-between one room and another while others were private. They had some activities, and I thought you get good care there. "

"St Camillus is a Catholic assisted living home/apartments. They are well kept up and very clean. The staff of nurses and aides is exceptionally good. They are attentive to the residents and their needs. The meals are served in a large bright dining room and are home cooked and I am told very good tasting. The meals, when I visited, looked very appetizing and smelled great! Breakfast is optional for the resident because many of them just have cereal in their room. The private apartments are not very large but adequate for one person a small kitchenette to make a pot of coffee or light snack. The bathroom is handicap accessible and has a walk in tub and elevated toilet seat with a call light right next to it and the tub. The residents can do their own laundry if they wish otherwise the staff does it once a week for them. The residents are assisted with their bathing and dressing as needed. "

"My mother has been staying at Glendale Care and Rehab Center. Her care was very caring and impeccable. The facilities are clean. They always smell fresh. The people in here are caring. My mom's room is good. The trash is always empty. The CNAs are very attentive. They do listen. They play bingo and puzzles. They have a church service."

"My experience with Colonial Manor was a poor one. My mother was a resident there for about 5 months or so. The receptionist was rarely able to answer any questions when she was there to answer the phones. Calls to the nurses stations frequently went unanswered and when they did answer, they were usually reluctant to give information. My mother would be left in bed for hours at a time and her calls for assistance were ignored at times. There was one particularly disturbing incident in which my sister went to pick my mother up after my mom had returned to the facility from an appointment and my mom's wheelchair was missing. When my sister inquired about it, the staff claimed to have no knowledge of its whereabouts. As my sister was leaving, she noticed a patient in the lobby sitting in my mother's chair. One of the care providers had entered my mom's room while she was gone and took her chair and gave it to another patient. The caretakers were often rude and would say things like "I'm not going to keep coming in here to help you!" "

"My aunt has been to 3 other places I can honestly say that Allis is the best so far. The therapy department is AMAZING. She is here for a stroke and has come such a long way in a very short time. Granted the building needs a little upgrade. After seeing the ratings, I was a bit skeptical but my parents asked me to tour anyways because not many other places accept her insurance and they refused for her to return to the other 3 places she was at. So I came to tour and found parking to be a little challenging but was welcomed warmly. Then as I waited for the admission person to come give me the tour, there were a few men in the lobby discussing the Packers and I asked them how they liked it here. They had nothing but nice things to say. One did point out the food was not the greatest. When my aunt arrived, her room had welcome balloons outside her door and she had a nice gift basket on her bedside table filled with all sorts of things she can use during her stay. It was a nice pick me up. None of the other places did anything like that for her. My parents live in FL so I come here daily to check on my aunt. The staff are always willing to talk my parents when they call and and the staff answer all of our questions. I even am able to talk to her doctor who follows her here Her aid lets me know if she participated in activities or if she is a little under the weather. When she does not go to any activities they have someone who comes into the room to talk to her or do something with her at her beside. I understand not everyone has a good experience and people seem quick to write something bad but I wanted to wait until I was able to have enough time spent in the building to make my own assessment and I am very pleased. I guess you get out of it what you put in."

"The staff were really friendly. They showed us around and even introduced us to some of the clients that went there. This shocked me because usually when we visit different facilities they're really dry. Some don't take the time to talk to you or ask if you have questions. There was one time we looked at a facility and they gave us the quickest tour I have ever experienced. They zoomed right through it. That along with there dry voice and "i don't want to be here" attitude definitely got them scratched off of our list. if they can be so dry and careless with a simple tour, then that leads me to believe that they'll be careless with my grandmother. that's my biggest fear. no one wants their grandmother to be treated poorly anywhere at any time. That's why i look for quality facilities with genuine caring people. "

"A number of family and friends relatives have been in the facility. The facility is clean bright and homelike. Physical therapists are friendly and push just enough. The staff is short, so sometimes a longer wait. Only real issues we had was the food service. One was on a diabetic diet and they sent banana breads and sweets, even after 2 weeks of telling them she could NOT have them they were still on the tray. They were very helpful with accomidating her large frame and helping her rehabilitation and get home. "
