"My brother-in-law was a resident of Heritage Square Health Care Center. That's a good one because he was very hard to please and hard to get along with. They did good, but he wasn't always happy, but that was partly due to the problems he was having. He liked it better there than in the hospital. He could be great one day, and then a little challenging the next. But under the circumstances, I'm sure they understood them. It's clean and nice. The people were very friendly and accommodating. He liked the food."

"After falling and breaking a bone in her leg, my mom stayed at Golden Living Centers. The staff here were wonderful. They provide a free meal for the family and the meal was served at their "bistro". We had a choice of two entrees and were served like we were in a restaurant. My mom was kept very busy with activites like bingo and movies. All the other patients were friendly, happy and outgoing and my mom made many friends, some cried when my mom left. The staff took the time to treat the patients as people, listend to their wants and needs, doing what they could to fulfill the needs. My mom talks about this being the only place she would go back to for rehab. When leaving the nurses that were discharging her welcomed her to come and visit whenever she wanted. Her stay at Golden Living Centers was a wonderful experience. "

"Village at Manor Park catered to individuals that are recuperating from hospital visits and so forth. They also have long-term and short-term care. Very nice and very good staff. They had PT areas for the geriatric care as well. "

"SouthPointe has four different levels of care. Mom was in there barely a month before she passed away. My daughter took her there because it was recommended by the social worker. At the end, they had like a hospice unit and it worked out nice. We live a half mile from here, so I didn't have to travel 20 miles out of town. The rooms were good and the food was good. It was the cleanest and I had been in some places before with other family members, it was horrible. They were constructing, so everything was on one floor. After a while, my husband put in hard wood floors. We kept the carpeting, but I had mats, so everything was real smooth so it was easy for her with a walker. I knew some of the nursing staff, they were very nice. A couple of head nurses were really nasty in there. Mom's personal doctor doesn't interfere because they have their own doctor who takes charge. He takes charge the way the nursing home wants him to take charge, and nobody's going to ever fix that. Family physicians should be able to come in with the family. I don't like the policy of physicians appointed to facilities and taking over somebody who's in a critical state. "

"My aunt was recently here for rehab. I will admit we were worried once we read online reviews and we were hesitant. The first few days were hard for her to adjust coming from the hospital, but the staff was very understanding and helped with the process. My aunt isn't always the friendliest person either. Staff treated her like a person and listened to her concerns. The Dr. seemed to visit regularly and therapy was great. Staff always seemed to smile and were pleasant. I believe every place has pros and cons. To me it is how a situation is handle if one arises, and they addressed everything and made us feel welcomed. "My father was at Cameo Care Center after a recent hospitalization. The facility was in good repair, no odors of urine that I have experienced in other facilities. The residents appear to happy and are engaged in activities whenever I visit. If I have a concern or complaint, there are staff members available to assist. If they cannot help me, they get back to me in a reasonable amount of time. I have a large family and each member can have different expectations. The facility tries to accomodate each one of us to the best of their ability, even when we are being difficult to deal with. They try very hard to make sure that dad is comfortable, safe and adjusting. He is picky with his food preferences, and changes his mind frequently and the kitchen staff does whatever they can. Our family has had an overall good experience at Cameo. "

"My aunt has been to 3 other places I can honestly say that Allis is the best so far. The therapy department is AMAZING. She is here for a stroke and has come such a long way in a very short time. Granted the building needs a little upgrade. After seeing the ratings, I was a bit skeptical but my parents asked me to tour anyways because not many other places accept her insurance and they refused for her to return to the other 3 places she was at. So I came to tour and found parking to be a little challenging but was welcomed warmly. Then as I waited for the admission person to come give me the tour, there were a few men in the lobby discussing the Packers and I asked them how they liked it here. They had nothing but nice things to say. One did point out the food was not the greatest. When my aunt arrived, her room had welcome balloons outside her door and she had a nice gift basket on her bedside table filled with all sorts of things she can use during her stay. It was a nice pick me up. None of the other places did anything like that for her. My parents live in FL so I come here daily to check on my aunt. The staff are always willing to talk my parents when they call and and the staff answer all of our questions. I even am able to talk to her doctor who follows her here Her aid lets me know if she participated in activities or if she is a little under the weather. When she does not go to any activities they have someone who comes into the room to talk to her or do something with her at her beside. I understand not everyone has a good experience and people seem quick to write something bad but I wanted to wait until I was able to have enough time spent in the building to make my own assessment and I am very pleased. I guess you get out of it what you put in."

"Long-term care portion was great. CNA's and nurses were very caring, dietary staff were accommodating to needs. My mom needed therapy for a short time and she loved all the therapists. "

"The therapists at Brookfield Rehabilitation & Specialty Care Center were wonderful, and everybody was friendly and accommodating. They had music, and they had a poetry talk session to get you involved in poetry. It was very good. "

"The staff is very caring. They are certain to keep residents active and entertained. They care not only for residents, but the supporting family as well. The facility is very clean and the food is very good. "

"We currently have my mom at Kensington Care and Rehab Center. They are friendly, caring, and very, very helpful. Her room is nice and fairly large. She stays in it all the time so she wouldn't have any idea of how the living atmosphere is, but for me being out of the room, it feels like a family thing. The facility is pretty, it's well-maintained, and they've got nice decorations. They decorate for the holidays and they always have postings on what activities are coming up or the little special things that they're doing. It's a nursing home but we're paying less there than we were at the assisted living and it's much better care."

"The Terrace at St Francis is part of a medical system in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I had toured it at one time. It a well kept building with studio and one bedroom apartment. The staff includes nurses and aides. A Chaplin is also available for Sunday mass for the residents. The resident enjoys their meals in a central dining room located of each of the 3 floors. When I toured was between meals, but there was a pot of coffee brewing and the residents were free to enjoy it when every it like. It also had a small general store for small items like tooth paste, denture cream and shaving cream. Each apartment had a kitchenette where the resident if able could prepare a bowl of cereal or pot of coffee. The staff provided all the medications and assisted with dressing and bathing the residents as needed. The residents that I encountered on the tour seems happy and content. I would say The Terrace seemed to be a pleasant comfortable place to live if you need assistance in your later years. "

"The residents always look like they are having a great time. Very great rehab department that goes that extra mile to take care of their patients. Always something going on in activities from games, movies, bingo and weekly entertainment. I recommend the place."
