"Jennings Terrace is a very special place. My mom is there and she is 100 years old. She lives on the independent living side, but she is surrounded by people who care for her and love her for who she is. It’s not the kind of place that wants to gouge you. It’s the kind of place that sincerely cares about people. The staff is exceptional at what they do and exceptional at understanding people from different walks of life. They are able to have compassion for my mom and her health or mental health difficulties that we all have at times throughout life. I am so thankful that my mom is at Jennings Terrace. There are a lot fancier places, but I don’t think there is more skill or care or compassion in those places. This is home for my mom and she is happy there. We decorated her room and she loves it. She goes and sits out by the big cozy fireplace and watches a movie with other residents when the weather is cooler. And, when we walk in are usually greeted by someone who gives us a smile or a group of people playing games and laughing in the game room. This is home for my mom and I am so thankful to Esther Daphne, Diana, Keosha, Diane and all the other staff members that I haven’t named that make sure that things run smoothly. I live out of state and I know my mom is cared for, and it means so much!"

"My parents are at the independent living portion of Franciscan Village. It is really nice and recently renovated. The staff has been good and my parents seem really happy. They also really like the apartments, it's brand-new, has a full kitchen where my mom can cook, and has a patio where they can get outside and get fresh air. The grounds are really pretty, it's around 40 acres so mom can take really long walks. She's an artist so she really enjoys a lot of their classes. Another thing that we liked about Franciscan is that they have independent living, assisted living, and then basically hospice care, so they won't have to move later on."

"In general, I think that this is a beautiful facility, obviously upscale, but in extremely good taste. There is a library and a little shopping area with candy and jewelry. There is a very nice dining area. The lobby is spacious and comfortable. The receptionist is friendly and helpful. The one draw back is the parking in the back of the building, which is often full and it is hard to find parking on the street. This is definately an urban setting. Many of the patients are Holocaust survivors. The staff are very helpful and will work with the patient and the family if there are financial or other problems. The facility offers an array of activities -- opera programs, ice cream socials, current events, etc. The facility also provides religious programming and services for the mainly Jewish population. There are individual apartments where residents can live in an independent living situation. There is also continued care and nursing home facility on other floors. On the top floor is a lovely activity room with glass windows. Sometimes there is a pianist who plays music. Patients can go up and get an icecream cone or can go out on the roof patio when the weather is nice. I would highly recommend this facility. The patients that I talked to seemed happy because there are many activities that are offered. "

"I liked Marian Village very much. It was a Catholic community, for one, and I am Catholic. Also, I thought their accommodations were better. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were adequate, and the residents seemed happy. I thought it was clean. "

"The staff at Bella Terra in Bloomingdale truly did an awesome job of taking care of my friend John for 10 months. The nursing staff and CNA staff truly did a wonderful job of caring for my best friend John. The receptionists and maintenance and cafeteria personnel were compassionate and caring also. The place is very clean too. Thanks for the end of life care you amazingly provided for John. God bless you always!!!!"

"My sister is a current resident. All I can say is that the staff has been wonderful. Things are never going to be perfect, but they are trying to help my sister. The staff is caring and attentive. When I visit, even on a weekend, all of the residents look clean and well groomed. My sisters case is a difficult one, but they are really making the best effort to treat her well and assist her. There may be glitches in the process, but the most important thing is staff is kind and understanding. "

"Overall we are VERY pleased with Alden Valley Ridge in Bloomingdale. I am thankful that they were willing to admit my sister with her specific needs when other places could not or would not (i.e., isolated room, IV nutrition line). The team really seems to care about the patient and is responsive to doctors orders, patient needs and family requests. The team gives my sister more attention then prior facilities have. Patient has been through quite a bit this year and we are impressed with the care she receives and progress being made. I recommend this location."

"My brother has been a resident at Abbington for 6 years. I know if it was not for Janet Cantelo and the other staff that my brother would probably not be with us today. He's been through a lot. Janet and her staff are the most caring, professional people that I've been involved with. From keeping me informed of his health and status, to calling me (out of state) to keep me informed and work with us to get the best available care for him. They were never too busy to take my calls or work with me to get him to where he needed to be. I live in Arizona so I can't be there every day. I would recommend Abbington in Roselle to anyone who has a family member going through issues that they need help with. Because of their care and the way they care for the residents, my brother has made amazing progress over the years. I owe Janet and her team more than I can express. Also he has had issues with things in his room and they are fixed or replaced as soon as possible. If necessary, he was moved to a different room until the original room could be corrected. They are the best."

"My grandmother has stayed at this facility on multiple occasions. Her first stay was when she had her hip replacement. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The center is fairly large with multiple wings and appears to have various areas targeted for people with various types of special care. From what I have seen the facility is extremely clean. My grandmother doesn't speak any English but she was still comfortable during her stay there. She said the nurses would check on her quite often and she didn't feel neglected. I have toured the facility mostly because of my curiosity but the physical therapy rehab center was quite large and had multiple types of equipment. My grandma has needed knee and hip replacement so she has been in the facility because we have not had full time care givers at our home to watch for her. There are ample amounts of windows to allow adequate natural lighting into the facility and individual rooms. Each bedside had its individual televisions and lighting which also makes it easy for residents who have mobility issues. "

"My aunt is at Windsor Park Manor. They provide all levels of care, and you need to buy-in to be able to live in the place. For my aunt, the place is very good. The apartments are beautiful, but you furnish it yourself. "

"She’s in a place now. They were very helpful, honest, straight up, and they did a really good job. They actually have enough help on staff and the place didn’t smell like a hospital. It was actually close to where she lived and to the Alexian Brothers Center there initially. The rooms are pretty good. She needs full medical help, and the rooms are good for that basis. The only bad thing would be the communication between the front desk and the nurses. "

"Beautiful facility- state of the art; Spotless; Outstanding attending physician; Responsive Director; Close to major hospital; Staff treats all as their special guests! ALl staff are accomodating and if there is a concern; it is addressed immediately! "

"My relative was in rehab at Briarwood Healthcare Center. The staff was good, but it was more institutionalized compared to others. The food was very good. I didn't pick that place for memory care because it was very cold and had a hospital or an institutional feeling. It was fine for rehab, but it's like being in a hospital room when you're in memory care."

"This facility located in the southwest suburban part of Illinois.The grounds are very well-kept. The colors in the building are very warm and inviting.This facility has a state-of-art thearpy room,and the halls of the floor are covered with beautiful tile. This facility accepts no psychiatric referrals. They do accept majority of insurances for payment. There are normally two to a room, with the option of having a private semi room in some cases. There is no on-site dialysis center, and the meals are served buffett style. While there, I noticed how attentive the staff were to the residents, and how the residents communicated with the staff in a positive manner. I would rank this facility a 5 out of 5 stars. "
