My experience with Holden Heights has been nothing but delightful. Based on the bad reviews I've read here, I felt it necessary to let future and present families know that this place was a God-send for me and my family.

The staff do not care of their residents, and even make fun of them. My sister broke her hip while being given an inadequate walker. After her hip surgery and recovery, our family found a different facility for her. If you care about your friend or relative, I would look elsewhere.

Look elsewhere for a place for your loved one. No one is responsible or accountable there. And no one wears name tags. How unprofessional. It's probably because the staff turnover is so great. Seems like every time I drop by (most unannounced), the staff is busy eating rather than caring for residents. It could be any time of day. And it shows. On the weekends, the staff is scarce/elusive. My family member was always dressed like a homeless person, wearing someone else's ill-fitting clothes clearly marked with someone else's name. In Dec 2018, I visited after informing them I was coming on 3 separate occasions prior to my arrival. I asked that she be clean, dressed, and fed prior to me taking her to a medical appointment. None of that happened. When I arrived, she was filthy and unkempt and wearing clothes that didn't belong to her, sitting in dirty diaper. The smell was offensive. There was not a stitch of clothing in her closet for which to change her. They said they were all in the laundry; she had enough clothes to last at least a month. Really? In the laundry? Everything she owns, except for a coat and bathrobe? I had to go buy her a new outfit to wear to her doctor appointment that day, else I would have been cited for abuse and neglect once arriving at the appointment. And she sat in the dining area for over an hour waiting to be fed (while I was shopping for clothes for her to wear to the appointment). She was never fed nor offered food during that time, despite my request to do just that. The place is filthy and gross. I have never seen anyone cleaning the facility. The elevators are constantly broken, making the residents confined to their floor/room. They are unprepared to evacuate residents in the event of a fire. It starts at the top. With the administration. Look elsewhere for a place for your loved one. I feel bad for the residents who live there.

Facility Holden Heights is understaffed & most workers are doing other things than looking after residents. My loved one was there 2 weeks before she had a bath & then I gave it to her. Place is not clean & had bed bugs. No activities for Memory Care. They are put in the room where they eat & watch TV with no one to watch them. My loved one had Medicaid & we paid also & they refuse to issue a refund to me.

I would not recommend Holden Heights as facility has major problems: Safety: Four story building that has 2 elevators, but usually only 1 is working. How do you safely evacuate 100 residents in an emergency? Electrical: Had electrical outlet in room, after that appeared smoldered. After a week management said it had been fixed. No, they had only cleaned outlet cover as outlet cover screws were still in tact and not chipped! Staff: Mostly only visible on weekdays. No uniform attire or name badge. Weekends, if there was a staff member they were accompanied by friends and family behind the nurse's station..children, too. Staff ignored patient call bells. Lax in administering medications, always found pills around in patient room. Communication on all fronts non existent between Executive Director and family and staff. Same goes for in house pharmacy, Guardian Pharmacy Piedmont with questionable billing and medication charges. Sanitation: Fruit punch drinks left in room until it grows mold on top! Housekeeping: New vinyl floors in patient room not cleaned regularly: usually just center area, if attempted. Bring your own "swifter" and remember to change the sheets, too! List goes on and on with laundry and business office. Don't move your family member into Holden Heights as you will regret that decision. Everything I thought it couldn't get worse, it did from my experience that past 2 years.

I really like Holden Heights where my mom is living. I am in the community several times each week and it is always clean. The entire management and staff have been so supportive of my mom and our family.

A family friend lived at Woodland Place, now Holden Heights. During my visits I was never really happy with the facility. Rooms that I saw were all cluttered and not clean. Staff was always friendly and my friend was happy with them. In the past year it seems to have went downhill. Staff changes alot and to me it really seems understaffed. I have seen cock roaches numerous times and heard there was a bedbug problem. I would not personally put a member of my family there.

I went to see Holden Heights and was not impressed with them. Their rooms were too small, and my dad is 6'2, so it did not meet his needs. They were in a flood zone, but that was never mentioned while we were there. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Actually my father did not want a fancy place. So Woodland Place is not fancy, and it is reasonably priced. They seem to have much of what everybody has. I believe that the rooms were actually larger than any of the other places I looked at. That was one of the major deciding factors. The staff was very friendly and took the time to show me around. They were informative and very welcoming.

Woodland Place is clean. It's very expensive for us. It's hard to get a call back from them but they're pleasant enough when I was there. They have activities but I can't remember anything in particular.

Over the past two years i have been going to Woodland Place Assisted Living two or three times a week to visit my grandmothers childhood friend. Every time i go there i have noticed the friendly smiles that the faculty staff gives you. It does not surprise me that my grandmothers friend is happy to be living at this assisted living facility. The whole place seems to be clean to very high standards. I noticed that they clean the residents room two to three times a day, sometimes more if needed. Another great thing is that they are really understanding about visitation hours so they are willing to let you visit during hours that are most convenient to you. My grandmothers friend seems to enjoy the group activities that they have every day. She feels like the faculty staff cares for her a lot, since they don't keep her confined to her room all day. Overall i would say this place should be given five out of five stars.

Located near the Four Seasons Mall, this Assisted Living Center did the bare minimum on what it had to do to stay open. I was not pleased at all with the staff or anything else. I walked in near lunch time asking for a small amount of time for a quick tour and it took someone forever to get to me to begin with. They told me to have a seat. Then I was asked about 15 minutes later why I was there again. I am former military so I was not getting agitated by no means but this was getting on my nerves. Finally I got some brochures and I never got my tour. Patients did not seem like they were enjoying themselves except for a few which seemed to not really care. A few caretakers were talking by themselves and not paying attention to the patients. I know this is assisted living but it is all about the patients, not socializing. At that point, I just walked out. If you care about your family or friends, I would find another facility.
