"We visited the independent and assisted living at Harmony at Greensboro. It was very clean and well thought out. They had a lot of activities and a lot of things to do there. We liked it. The staff was nice and he was showing us around. My mom got tired, so he got a wheelchair to help carry her around. The menu was good. The only thing was that you had a limited amount of meals. They had three meals a day, but you can only do one of those meals a day or something like that. We liked their amenities. They had a lot of things like transportation to and from other things, so that was positive. We saw the facilities for movies and everything, but nobody was in there at that point. It was nice because you can segue over from independent to assisted living. They were all in the same building. You can just move to a different floor, but you can stay in that place."

"The thing I like about Spring Arbor of Greensboro is that it's a single story and they have assisted living. The thing I did not like was the lack of skilled nursing. They have beautiful grounds and a beautiful building. I like that it's on one floor because it's easier to get out in case of a catastrophe. While we were there, a van and a bus came back with residents who were out on a tour. They just went to see different places but didn't get out of the bus because of the virus. They also had other kinds of on-site recreational things going on. We saw menus there and the food looked extraordinarily good. They always have two to three options and there are soups and salads with each meal. It was very nice. The staff members that we were introduced to were very nice and very professional. The building is very nice. It's about eight to ten years old, but it looked brand new and was well kept with beautiful grounds."

"Brookdale Meadowmont was excellent. The place is very good from what I saw. The rooms were nice and the dining area looked fine. They have a place to do crafts, a meeting room, and the memory unit was separate."

"Chatham Ridge Assisted Living was nice. The nice thing about it was it is all one level. The whole building is one level. It looked clean. There was one room that I saw, and there was somebody constantly packing up, folding, and re-folding their clothes. You can't say it's really homey. The staff was fine, provided me all the information, and informed us about the residents. There's a dining area, but we didn't really go in there. Most people were just sitting around the time that I went. They just had an outside patio and a garden area they could use, but that's about all I know."

"Heritage Greens offered everything that she was looking for. The place was convenient and well laid out for her to be able to maneuver. The staff seemed to be very welcoming, concerned, caring, and interested as well. The only thing that I would say would be a negative is that I am a little concerned about the fact that they have a kitchenette with a stove. "

"It was a very positive experience at Brookdale Northwest Greensboro. The lady we spoke with was very knowledgeable and very good. The problem that we had was that my mother was not ready for that level of care. My father was ready, but my mother was not. The rooms were fine; they were a nice size and appeared to be very clean. I did not smell any type of odor when I was there. Once again, it was just that my mother was not ready for that level of care. When she saw the little, old ladies in their wheelchairs, she was totally turned off. The building was very clean. I could tell it was an older building, but I think the staff is doing the best they can do with what they have to work with because it is an older building. "

"Brookdale Chapel Hill was awesome. My mom is actually going to move in there, probably in July. They did great. The staff was wonderful, and they're actually updating the design and layout of the rooms specifically for her. So, they're doing what they need to do to make us comfortable with the design. I was very happy that they were willing to change things and meet my mom's needs. The room seemed to be large enough, but we only saw what we were getting. We did not see the others, so we didn't see any of the other floor plans. The menu looks well varied. They have a library; a beauty salon; daily fitness classes; on-site OP, PT, speech therapy, and nursing; and a wonderful backyard patio with nice flower gardens that the residents maintain. They have lots of activities, so they're very active and very engaged, and they seem to be happy. They also get three meals and two or three snacks a day. It would be better, though, if they had a pool or something, but they don't."

"I thought Carolina Reserve of Durham was very nice and the staff was very helpful and friendly. It was just the memory care unit was a little smaller than what we wanted for our mother, but everything else seemed nice. It's a good place."

"I chose them for my mother, but she's now in rehab. It was excellent. What stood out was the cleanliness, the food, and the people who went above and beyond. She did not participate in much, but they have church, music, bingo, and they have their nails painted and hair done."

"Our son is here, and very happy. He has a lot of needs that must be met, and every single one of them is being met there. They have a facility for physical therapy, and one for occupational therapy. They have 3 meals a day. They have lots of different activities that are unlike other places. They have a gentleman that comes every Saturday, and he plays songs from past years and sings for the residents there, and they just love that. We haven't found anything that we disliked there. He is very happy, and they're very pleased to have him. I have only seen one incident since he's been there, and he's been there about a month and a half, in which I felt the nurse was a little impatient, but I think it was because she was scared. The man had pulled his oxygen out, and he really needed it, and so I gave her the benefit of the doubt, because that was worrisome to her. She did not want anything to happen to him, but other than that, the people are real gentle and kind. A lot of times when I call my son, I know that they've been by and checked on him. It's a very nice place."

"Springview is a small facility, but I chose it over the larger ones because they are small. The aides that work there are ANGELS on earth. They show patience, compassion, respect and love to all of their residents, from the owner down to the aides. I have nothing but praise for them. My Mom has been there a little over ayear and these are wonderful people and the answer to my prayers about the care they give to her. It takes a special kind of person to do this work, and all of them at Springview are this type. They care for Mom just like I would, and better. Their food must be good, my mom has gained weight while she has been there. Bless them all! "

"My brother was at Making Visions Come True. The thing I liked best about it was that it was very clean and organized. It was a small assisted living facility. The staff members were very attentive and they cared about my brother. But one of the employees would get very frustrated with things and yell a lot. She yelled at my brother, and he didn't like that. With regards to amenities, my brother is a smoker, and they had a designated area for them to smoke apart from the building. They provided for them, so that was a good thing. However, they didn't have any comfortable chairs for them to sit inside the building. There was an area where they had lots of chairs for the residents there to sit and watch TV, but no comfortable chairs. So to me, that was the downside."

"Golden Years has me on the fence for a few reasons. The staff was wonderful; nice and energetic and very intelligent. The grounds and some of the things I noticed with the building just did not sit well with me. I did not like the fact they did not have a lot of flowers and trees surrounding the area especially flowers. Let the guests plant the flowers. I bet they would love that. I would even volunteer it. Spruce up the place a bit. The inside just needs redecorating I guess. Do not get me wrong, it does not look like bad in there but I think it just needs changing around. "

"Warren Care was recommended to us. They came and they were very nice people. They had been so good to my son. The place is so nice and clean. I had no problems with them. "
