"My aunt moved into Brookdale Lawndale Park, and they were very accommodating to my aunt. Everything was handled professionally with no bumps at all. It was a very easy process. They have welcomed her and made her feel very, very comfortable. She's very picky and doesn't find the food to her liking, but the food may be just fine. It is a very loving, warm environment with lots of hugs, and my aunt is driving there. I have been so pleased with how they have welcomed my aunt and how well she has settled in with them."

"The only place I had visited was the Carolina House, and it was a nice place. The staff was polite and courteous. Everything looked good. They had areas for card playing and socializing. "

"My parents and my aunt moved into Harmony at Greensboro. I liked the broad range of activities regardless of the person's physical capabilities; they're very inclusive of everyone. They have a very nice dining menu with lots of options, so the resident doesn't feel like they're locked into just the special of the day. They have lots of other everyday options. The staff has been very caring, responsive, and loving with the residents. It's a new facility that's less than five years old. The facilities are super clean, nice, spacious, and airy. They have a lot of outdoor space for those who can get outdoors. The food is very good. It's better than expected for that type of environment."

"I toured Carolina Estates yesterday. I liked how happy and well-pleased the people were. I sat down with two gentlemen and a lady during dinner, and naturally, I asked them questions about how they felt about the place, and I didn't get one negative review. They had a seafood bowl yesterday, and it was delicious. The staff who gave the tour was very informative, very nice, and polite. I also looked at the people who were on the ground floor, and I liked the way they did their landscaping. They had little sculptures in their yard. My only complaint was their parking. I use the aid of a walking cane, and I had to park almost at the back, which meant I had to walk to the front. They had a workout room, and they had a physical therapist. If you don't want to go down the buffet line, they would come to your table and take your order as if you were in a restaurant."

"Spring Arbor of Greensboro was very active. Some folks were gathered in different areas visiting, talking, or whatever. I liked the circular layout of the buildings, not just the assisted living, but also in memory care. Upkeep and maintenance were excellent. They have different types of rooms. The staff was very knowledgeable and very helpful."

"Nicole, the owner/director of Rockbridge, is incredibly kind, compassionate, efficient and knowledgeable. She has a passion for eldercare which manifests itself in every aspect of the home...from thoughtfulness about diet/exercise/programming to staffing. I feel so fortunate to have found Rockbridge for my mom. I can't imagine a better place for her care. When I came to visit one day and found that a staff member had given her a manicure, complete with nail polish, I cried. Everyone, and the house, is always immaculate, content and cared for. "

"Brookdale Meadowmont was excellent. The place is very good from what I saw. The rooms were nice and the dining area looked fine. They have a place to do crafts, a meeting room, and the memory unit was separate."

"They took great care of my mom in Horizons...she was not the easiest of residents either...they really treated her great! We since had to move her to skilled but we miss everyone here!"

"My Father was in their Assisted Living unit. Our family was very happy with the care he received. The Med Techs and Aides were very responsive and caring. Whenever Dad pushed his call button staff came quickly. The management was great with their communication and was very accessible. My Das has been in 2 other Assisted Living facilities before we moved him to Heritage Greens. It definitely is so much better than the other 2 he was in."

"Carolina Pines Retirement Community is a new facility. It's very nice, and it's not very far from my house. I've gone to their seminars. They had just opened before the end of the year. From what I have heard from a couple of people that I know who live there, they're very happy with it. The food is good, too. I got a bulletin from them last week about the activities they will be doing for the month of August, which is very good. They get lots of entertainment. I like it because it's in the community where I live now. I can get to that location in less than 10 minutes. They have an exercise room. They don't have a swimming pool or a tennis court. They don't have those, but inside, they have an exercise room, a theater, a lounge, a room for art activities, and a beauty shop. They don't have garages, so if your car is not used to sleeping outside, it has to get used to it because there's no garage. With regard to upkeep, it's clean, well-kept, and bright. At the seminars, the food has been very good. They have very good chefs who are working there. If I had to choose between three places in North Carolina, one would be Carolina Pines. I will go there because it's still in my community, and I could keep my routine like the hospital and doctors. Everything is right here."

"I went through the assisted living at Brookdale Northwest Greensboro. I felt very well taken care of. I think it was a busier facility than the other place, but there were plenty of people that were sitting in groups chitchatting, and going down the halls. Some people spoke to us. The staff knew them by name. I liked the fact that they feel roomy inside. It's not like you put a single bed and a dresser in there and that's all you get. You have a living space as well as a bedroom. It was very well-maintained and clean. The staff was great. The meals in the dining room looked great."

"We toured here. It was in a nice location with nice views. The staff that we met there were helpful. They looked similar to the other place I visited. They had a gym, a courtyard, a library, and a chapel. The place looked clean."

"I am living in a new facility called Inspire Briar Chapel. It's beautiful inside. I saw the model room, and I immediately liked what I saw. My interaction with the staff is wonderful. They're very friendly, warm, and very informative. The residents that I've seen so far are very friendly, too. They have made me feel welcome. I'm in a one-bedroom apartment. It has a full kitchen. It's like 925 square feet. They also have different floor plans to offer, but I'm not sure if it's one- or two-bedrooms. There are all kinds of activities and amenities. There's a saltwater pool in the middle. The staff is excellent. They don't serve meals every day. Once in a while, we can have breakfast. Every so often, they'll have some food. Like this afternoon at 2:00, they'll have some kind of a spread. I've read through the schedule of activities, and it's a busy schedule. They're also reasonable compared to other places. This is a lot cheaper. It is a new facility, it's not an old one that has been revamped, so the value for money is excellent."

"I visited Holiday Durham Regent, and I liked the options that they have. It's kind of like an apartment complex with one-level cottages right across their main building. You have an option to have your own home that is fully equipped with a kitchen, washer and dryer, and a refrigerator. It has everything that you would want in your home. It has a living area, two bedrooms, two baths, and large closets. They also have a similar setup right in the main building where you don't have a washer and dryer but they can do your laundry for free, and a kitchenette type of thing, but without a stove or anything that is flammable. The staff was nice, very kind, and had a great attitude"
