My mom moved in and she seems happy there and well cared for. Debra, the coordinator of the memory care unit, is wonderful, she's really great, and since we can't visit, she actually sent us some videos. The director of care is also wonderful, and everybody that we've had an interaction with has been great, just top notch. From what I've seen in the video call, in the hallway in the memory care unit, they have these wall puzzles instead of framed pictures that the residents can stop and play with, and I was impressed by that. The rooms were small, but they seemed nice from what we've been able to see on the video.

I toured TerraBella Hillsborough. The people there seemed to be very nice and attentive. Some of the residents there seem to be happy. So we got a chance to talk to a few of them. The facility was clean and just looked like a nice place. They have a meal plan every day. They have an activities director that tries to encourage the residents to do some activities. They take trips so you can sign up for and go out to meals or other events. They're able to help the residents. They have different levels of care from level one to level five depending upon the needs of the residents, so they have a good staff of people to assess that. The dining area looks small.

Please think carefully about sending your loved one to terrabella hillsborough. It looks pretty but the resident to staff ratio is not adequate for the needs of residents. My mom had more than 3 accidents and hospital visits while living there. The executive director has no compassion for the aging elderly and their needs. I wished I had moved my mom out sooner than later. Check out terrabella on the state of NC as well to see the violations and they are not a 4 star facility as they advertise to be. Do not send your loved one here. Trust me. I was there everyday for over 2 years. I saw it all...

TerraBella Hillsborough looked like it had been updated. It was extremely clean and quiet. They seem to have a little bit better furniture for the common areas. Their rooms are a tad bigger than the other facility. I talked with a couple of the staff, and they were helpful. I did the tour with a lady, and she went over and beyond. She took plenty of time with me.

Mice… Ants… Filthy briefs thrown in the shower… Cold food… Residence not attended to for hours after ringing their call bel… School lunch menus that don't address nutrition needs for the elderly… Please do not send your loved one to this place. Some staff members were very attentive while others did not care for the elderly at all. Residents constantly complained about the activities being boring and ending too early.

I love TerraBella Hillsborough, but it was self-pay. I wish my uncle could afford it there, but it was lovely. People were smiling. The rooms were nice and very clean. They have hand sanitizer and masks at the door if you want a mask or whatever when you go in. They have memory care there, which I like. The staff showed me the rooms where they go and exercise and work with them and stuff like that. The dining area was nice and big enough. There are four people at a table. It was nice and clean there.

We had to move my mother resident since mid 2020. This facility is now a home of never ending lies and empty promises of improvement. Glorious change is forever on the horizon This facility was purchased by Discovery and changed into Terrabella Hillsborough in 11/21. Most of the good employees left. There are a few wonderful folks working there, but management has been offsetting their efficacy with short staffing. -The food is on par with Juvenile detention. -Meal delivery was held until the dining room was finished serving, effectivly punishing "room eaters" with cold meals. The ExecDir is more interested in the paint job and landscaping than the quality of food served to residents. She never accepted invitations to break bread with the residents. -Medications are frequently given late.. often after 10am -Weekends are short staffed. -Call button response was often over an hour. -Terrabella Hillsborough subcontracted with LifeSource for 3rd party Psychiatric support. A LPN put my mother on medication without our POA permission or consulting with her Dr's. This person prescribed Trazodone as a 'sleep aid'. This medication is counter indicated for her heart condition and medication.

I toured TerraBella Hillsborough. It's a very attractive facility, and it was small enough that it could be managed successfully to meet the needs, the requirements, and the comfort of the residents. I'm very impressed with the friendly and courteous tour guide, which was Kelly. She is very knowledgeable. It's a place where my partner would end up going to, and I would recommend it to anyone else. It's very nice and clean. The rooms were very satisfactory. They're empty rooms. You pay your entrance fee and then your monthly fee. And the fact that you put your own furniture there makes the person who has to be there feel more like the comforts of home because they've got their own personal, familiar items, like their own bed and their own chairs and all that stuff. It's very nice. They were also playing bingo when I was there. I met the front desk lady, the receptionist, and the tour guide. I also saw the nurses down the halls. The residents were in the dining room, and they were playing games. It looked very, very inviting.

I like TerraBella Hillsborough because it was smaller than the other place, and it was not so spread out. I went to the memory care unit. They had an outdoor space, and it wasn't that large. It needed some tidying up, but they were in the process of remodeling inside and working on the outside. They had a kitchen and a refrigerator, where they could store food and reheat it for them. They had a separate area for residents that had to be fed. They could group them together and assist them all at one time. They also had a little activity room that they were going to redo. The person during the tour was very animated and very excited about what was going on there. She had a degree and really wanted to work with these residents to keep their cognitive function and activity level up as much as possible. I was really impressed with that. The lady was really energetic in a very positive way with what they were trying to accomplish with the residents. The only thing that rang a bell with me is that when patients reach a certain stage (which is where my mother is now), I don't want her got up at 7:00 in the morning. I want her to be able to sleep in. She's 88 years old. She's getting into the end stages of dementia, and I don't want her pushed to do activities. I would have discussed that in detail with them before placing my mother.

I toured TerraBella Hillsborough for my mom. They are kind of small. I talked to residents as that's one of the things that I do. The residents wanted more things to do. They were bored. The building was nice enough. The rooms were smaller than in the other community I saw. They were adequate, but they were very reminiscent of hospital rooms in size. They showed me an activity room. It looked like an art room with a big table and crafts and things. It was very small and there was nobody in there. I talked to the residents for quite a while before I walked in. Several ladies were in rocking chairs, and they said the food was okay. It was hit or miss, some days better than others, which is what I expected. You can't please everybody all the time. They did say point blank that they didn't have enough activities. The staff were nice to me. I didn't have an appointment. That's very, very close to my house and I was essentially stopping by for brochures and maybe to make an appointment, but they gave me a quick tour anyway, so they were nice.

We liked TerraBella Hillsborough a lot better than the other facility. We also got to tour their dining room. The residents in memory care seemed happier, and the facility was not as aged. We observed them performing activities. It just seemed a little cleaner and a little bit more well-kept and the rooms seemed slightly bigger. They were adequately spaced for a memory care resident. They had a salon. We didn't get to see it at the time, but they did have that. The entrance was very nice coming in, so for family members, it's more appealing to the eye when you come to visit the place. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable.

I love TerraBella Hillsborough. It was beautiful. It's got lots of trees around it, lots of bird feeders, and rocking chairs. So you can sit and watch the birds and squirrels. The inside was beautiful. I like the rooms. The staff was very pleasant. I got a lot of smiles and hellos from other residents. Everybody was very social. The grounds were beautiful and very well-kept. I was very impressed compared to the others.

TerraBella Hillsborough had very polite people, and the place was very clean. Everybody was glad to help me no matter what I was doing in any way they could. They were easy to talk with. They responded to my questions and my phone calls right away. They could take care of my father's needs. The room I went to had a bed, a real nice shower, and a big closet. It was more like a studio. They got music, religious stuff, bingo, a library, and a big dining room where people can sit at the tables and eat. They help bring them in if they need help to be brought in. They had their amenities and activities all posted on the bulletin. They've been very helpful. They said if I had any problems, to please contact them. I didn't go over the whole area, but the part I saw was laid out well.

I like the fact that they have a 1-bedroom apartment that has a separate living room area and a separate bedroom area. The place looks lovely, too. The staff members I met were very nice. The tour was wonderful. It is one that is on our list. They also have a dementia unit. They had an exercise class going on while I was there, and I saw a lot of people exercising. They have an art room and they have a full kitchen where you can use it for Christmas time, holidays or group activities. They have an afternoon snack, and they have art classes. The staff who gave me the tour was wonderful. She's really helpful and caring. Their dining area looked wonderful, too.

I really liked it. I came in to this big open all windows area with a baby grand piano, and the residents were sitting about there. If it was cold, the fireplace would have probably been going. It just looked so inviting. We actually talked to one elderly resident, and she said that she really liked it there. The person that I called to talk about this place or getting my mother into was so helpful. When she needed more information or she needed to tell me more, she would call me at home. She informed me that they were going to do everything they can to help get my mother there. My mom grew up in the country, and she likes looking out the window at the flowers and the birds and all the rooms were such that she could see such right from her bed or her wheelchair. She could have seen all that and would have absolutely loved it if we could have gotten her there.

I was warmly welcomed there. Katie M. was mainly the one who gave me the tour and the one I was dealing with, and talked about all the paperwork. I didn't have the chance to meet much staff because they were having a big staff meeting when I was there. The facility looks fine and that's the one I've decided where my husband will be moving in in a couple of weeks. The place was clean. The model room they showed me was fine. The bathroom was okay, the shower is accessible and he will have his own closet. He's going to have a roommate. He's not happy about that but that's what we can afford. I think my husband will adjust and be comfortable with it. Overall, it looked all right so I'm happy and satisfied. One big factor in choosing this facility is its home-like atmosphere. It's all on one level. He can walk around and there are like outdoor porches, sitting rooms, and that's what appealed to me.
