Atria Cary was bright and open, with lots of light. We looked at several rooms and they were all very nice and bright, but they had small closets and small bathrooms. The staff who assisted us with the tour was helpful and friendly. The food that we had was good. People were eating at the same time we were and we talked to some of them. They had some gardens in some waist-level containers that the residents used for gardening. There was a bocce ball court.

Atria Cary is a brand-new building. Right now, they're probably more than halfway filled. The two-bedroom units, which we're probably going to be interested in, went very quickly. They're, at this point, getting hard to get, but they have some one-bedroom and one-bedroom den units. It's a four-story building. It's very beautiful. It's got just about everything you'd want. It's interesting because you're walking on the first floor, but because it's built on kind of a hill, the swimming pool, the workout room, the movie theater, and the restaurant are on kind of one floor down. You've got four floors of apartments, and then the downstairs is where everybody hangs out. They had a nice outdoor area in the back. They've got more plans for bocce and a little dog walk and a few other things. It backs into Hemlock Bluffs and the Swift Creek section, which is all county park, which is very nice, so it will never be built on. If you look out the front, right across the street is a lake, and there's an amphitheater where they have entertainment, and they just had the big 4th of July with thousands of people last week. Right now, we're very impressed with it. It's close to shopping, close to a lot of restaurants, WalMart, and everything else, but still not on a major highway, which makes it really nice. The apartments were very attractive and had full kitchens, even though three meals a day are included. The people we met were very nice. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. We were there for lunch. It was buffet style, and it was very good and ample, more than I could eat. There's a hospital about a quarter mile or a half mile away, and I think they send a doctor and a nurse over weekly to do blood pressure tests and things like that.

We had a very good tour of Atria Cary. It was very informative. We saw a couple of two bedrooms and one-bedroom units. We also saw the gym and the nice pool area. They also had entertainment come in. They had a dining area and a bar area. They had enough grounds and it was nice and spacious. And even though it was in a pretty traffic area, we couldn't hear any of the traffic, which was good.

We liked Atria Cary because it would be close to where we are right now and the price would be a little better. The staff we dealt with was very good. The facilities were excellent. They would keep us active and from being able to find friends and mingle with everybody. They have a gym, a salon, a courtyard with bocce, and a putting green. It's also set up for entertainment.

My mother will be moving in at Atria Cary next month. The facility itself was relatively new and I think they're probably at around 50% occupancy right now. So, they're aggressively looking for new residents. We had a great site visit. The salesperson who worked with us was knowledgeable about the company and was patient and took her time. The facility itself was beautiful. It was impressive. It's got plenty of natural light. It's well-located. It's close to Western Wake Hospital. It's right across from Symphony Lake, which is a nice lake. Regency Park is there where the North Carolina Symphony plays a summer series at. That's kind of the front view of the facility. And then the back view is the Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve in Swift Creek. It's got nice amenities that include walking trails. The rooms were very nice. My mom is getting a 1-bedroom apartment with a den, and it is spacious. The design for the kitchens and the other areas has been thoughtful. They've got cabinets placed where people can reach them. I think they just paid a lot of attention to what the elder care needs are. The rooms also had a washer and dryer, and a complete kitchen, just what you would expect from independent living. We were pleased with the other amenities. There's a saltwater pool. They've got a nice outdoor area that includes a Bocce court and a putting green. They've got on-site physical therapy. They've got an arrangement with one of the local hospitals to provide therapists, but it's more than physical and occupational therapy. It had all the things that people could need there. They've got a salon on site, and the restaurant looked nice. They would serve 3 meals a day. They had a happy hour every night at their bar from 4 until 7, and it just looked like a welcoming place. My mom is excited about heading over there. They probably had about 8 different room layouts from small one-bedroom apartments with no den to three models of one-bedroom with a den. The floor plans were pretty open floor plans, and the ceilings were high, so it felt airy and had good natural light. I had some questions that they promptly responded to. The process of putting a deposit down, and all the financial parts was really easy. They were pretty efficient. They were very professional and very friendly. They also had a really interesting referral program that I had not seen before. If my mother makes a referral to a friend, she'll get a $2,000 credit on her rent and the person she referred gets a $2,000 credit on her rent as well for 3 months.
