"LiveWell - Cary wasn't something that we would be interested in, but I'm sure it served the purpose. It's a very small home. It was a nice little group setting for somebody that would need that. It was secure and it was clean. They had shared bathrooms. We saw a common living room, an outdoor area, a dining area, and a kitchen. Everyone seemed to have pretty close care."

"I went to Brookdale MacArthur Park. They offer them breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the cafeteria. They had nurses and doctors on-site to come to visit them. My mother wouldn't have somebody there with her all the time, but they would check on her every day if she didn't check-in. I didn't have anything bad about it. I loved it. It was a beautiful community. Everybody was very professional and gracious. It supplied all the needs of the tenants. The staff was very personable and very informative. He was one of the managers, and he's very professional. They made me feel like they would take good care of my family member if they were there. They had a garden patio, a library, a beauty salon on-site, and several physical and occupational therapists there on-site."

"I toured Sunrise of Cary. Their facility is so neat and clean. Their charges are too high, though. But according to their service, they are providing most of the good stuff. The staff has called me many times back and offered to help with everything. He is very good, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. He is responsive to any questions we have and he keeps up with all the potential clients. They have a salon right there, as well as 24-hour nurse visits to the patient. They also have a case manager there. I like the ambiance. I like their cafeteria, menu, and their family gathering places. They also arrange for special events. Their program is awesome, with so many good stuff. They have a balcony where the patient can sit privately or have an outdoor time with the family. You can just reserve that in advance, let them know ahead, and they will arrange everything, even lunch, dinner, or anything. It's like a five-star hotel or like living in a resort. They gave us a loaf of specially baked bread, which is a bread that's more like a cake. They have invited us to many occasions to meet and mingle or have a family member come and enjoy the meal while we discuss, but I have never gone."

"We chose Woodland Terrace for ourselves. It is away from the very busy streets, so it's very quiet. It's just 2 blocks from Trader Joe's and all those places where I buy fruits. To me, the location was great. We only have 180 residents. We have a pond with a walking trail and ducks on it. The people here are extremely friendly. I just came back from a friendship committee where I am a volunteer. There are a few things that I would personally want different. But to me, the things that were of high concern were the heated pool, the walking space, the fact that it's not too big, and the freedom we have in this community. We have breakfast. You just get bacon and eggs and other choices. By 11:30, we have lunch. If you want dinner, you pay an additional $200. We cannot eat two of these meals. It's impossible. We eat fruit in the evenings and that's good. They offer the activities that I need and they have good facilities here."

"We toured the Reserve at Mills Farm. The person who showed us around was very charming and knowledgeable. We told her what we were looking for, and then she gave us a tour of the facility. She sent us home with some paperwork, information, and maybe floor plans. She did take us to a unit. The ceilings were tall. It was lovely. All their units have a patio, which we'd be very interested in for a little outdoor space. The patio is small. It's just enough for two chairs, but enough to sit there and have coffee in the morning. She showed us all around, like a game room, dining rooms, outdoor spaces, and common areas."

"My sister is in Spring Arbor of Cary. It has a nice appearance. It's clean. The staff are very friendly, they're knowledgeable and it seems like they care about the patients. They have a country kitchen where they can cook. They do exercises and they do say that they'll take them out, but my sister has only been there for such a short time, so I haven't gotten to see all those things. They have a group dining room, which is good because then the patients get to see each other. The dining area looks like a restaurant with nice tables and stuff, and the food looks okay. It looks good. It's cut up so that they don't have to use knives or anything."

"What I like most about Brighton Gardens of Raleigh is the residents. They were so pleasant that you knew they had to be happy there to be that pleasant. The atmosphere is also very pleasant, and they're attentive to any of your concerns. Suzanne helped us and she was great. Anybody we saw interacted with us and they were very pleasant. They were having a social that afternoon, and several times they invited us to stop by if we could, and we just couldn't do it, but they really encouraged that. Everything was very clean and very nice. I was pleased with it."

"My dad stayed at Spring Arbor in Apex. The staff was very attentive, would check on him, was very helpful, always smiling, knew him by name, and knew me by name. He thought the meals were boring, and they were often not very hot, but he enjoyed the people there, and for the little time he was there, he was happy to get his hair done. He was happy with the rehab that he was able to attend. So, as a facility, it ticked all the boxes except that his health degraded to the point where he exceeded their care capacity, and he was hospitalized. I didn't see anything wearing or tearing. It's just that the facility has been there a while, but they're keeping it up and lovingly taking care of it, which shows commitment. They publish their activities for the week, which are at least five days a week. They had something going on at multiple times of the day. People could pick and choose what they wanted to do. Some residents wanted something to do and led it themselves; others were staff-led. It was an active community."

"Lorraine is the bomb. I have had wonderful experiences here at Sunrise of Raleigh with so many staff members. The latest was a part time staff member, Lorraine. I came by to check on mom and bring some items to her. Lorraine greeted me at the front desk offered me a mask, took me to mom’s room and ordered her dinner to be brought to her room. She followed up on the meal delivery to keep things on track. I wanted to know what medicines mom was taking so I asked Lorraine to check for me so I would know. She did everything I asked with a smile and promptness. On my way out she checked me out and took down notes of what she was to follow up on for me, read them back and asked if there was anything else I needed? All with a smile and she just fills in every now and then. Surprised me! I thought she was full time and just hadn’t met her yet. Very friendly, professional and I’m relieved and happy to have such a caring place for my mom. A. Johnson"

"I toured Springdaile Assisted Living. Springdaile was bright, clean, and cheerful. The residents seemed to be okay. The staff was very informative and professional. She seemed to know what she was talking about and seemed to like her job, and that was a big plus for me. I'm looking for a place for my husband so I wouldn't send him to a place I wouldn't go to. And I would go there. I like the appearance of the home, the outside, and the inside. All of the residents seemed friendly. I got to talk to the owner, and he was informative and seemed like he cared about the residents and the staff, so I was impressed with that. He seemed very informed. So, that's the place that I would take my husband to if I could afford it."

"Carolina Reserve of Durham is a very well laid out, friendly community. The assisted living studio apartments are nice size. In general, the place was well-run and very clean.
