Morningside of Raleigh

The building and everything at Morningside of Raleigh looked very nice. I liked that it had a big open entrance. It was cheerful. So, the very positive part of the tour experience was the openness of the building and everything was attractive. The staff just seemed a little busy, and I can't fault them for that.

My husband is in the memory care side of Morningside of Raleigh. It is in a beautiful wooded setting, and yet it was in this city. It was very bright and very orderly. The staff has been cooperative. They offer activities. They have a physical therapy room, a dayroom where activities can be done, and two dining areas, and this is all in the memory care. However, my husband has a specific rare condition that I don't believe is being addressed correctly with their program. The food is good. He has a spacious, single room with its own bathroom. For his situation, cleanliness has not been adequate. They have housekeeping only on the weekdays.

My stepdad was at Morningside Raleigh for a respite stay for 30 days around middle of November to December. It's a nice facility. The people that work there were amazing. I can't say that I have any complaints. They did a good job with Covid protocols. It's not my favorite situation to be in right now, but it filled the need for us. It's a good place. He was in a studio, a single room with a twin bed, and he had his own bathroom and closet. They will provide furniture if you don't have any. It looked clean and adequate, and the staff was great. They had physical therapy, group sessions where they had music and entertainment, games, a TV, a patio that you could go out on, a garden plant, and some vegetable plant. They definitely try to make it nice for the residents.

I looked at Morningside of Raleigh. I thought it was excellent. The staff that took me around was very knowledgeable. There was somebody at the door to greet you, and there was a lot of interaction between the residents and the staff. The facility was very clean and new. The people that I saw looked like they were happy and content. I also liked their philosophy about how they deal with their memory unit. It really felt like a home. They had a lot of activities like chair yoga, lectures, and shopping excursions for the assisted living residents. They also had barbecues for the holidays. It was a really nice setup. The apartments were new. I thought the studio sized apartments were of good size.

I have only been to one in my life. Morningside is the one I went to, and I was doing it for a friend. It seemed very clean and very professional. I just saw the bulletin board that listed all the activities that were going on and what days they were going on. I think it was a very professional place, and if you have dementia or if you just have some basic needs, it would be a perfect place to be.

Morningside of Raleigh was very nice, but they had no grounds to speak of. No place to go for a walk -- there were little patio areas and little courtyards, but very limited, very nice people, nice rooms, and nice food facilities. Their dining area was very attractive.
