Lakeside Manor was a lovely place. I think the room was too small for me. It's like moving into a small hotel room, but everything was great. They had everything you can think of. It's wonderful. The staff was wonderful.

Lakeside Manor retirement means pleasure for the residents and peace of mind for their families! It’s the joy of life without the burden of worry, making pleasant retirement living a reality. Take a seat in our elegantly furnished Main Dining Room, where our solid oak tables and chairs are dressed with linen tablecloths. Our friendly and efficient wait staff let you relax in the companionship of good friends as you enjoy your meal in our home-like atmosphere. Three delicious meals are prepared daily under the guidance of our professional staff, insuring a well balanced, nutritious, and of course, delicious dining experience. Activities: We offer a monthly calendar full of social activities such as afternoon socials with live music, bingo, moderate exercise, sing-alongs, current events discussion groups, arts & crafts, movies, etc. We provide transportation to stores in the Reno-Sparks area. We also take the occasional afternoon drive or walk to Virginia Lake to get a little time away from everything. There are sign language classes available, baking activities and massages for those who enjoy a little pampering. Once a month we go all out with a birthday party complete with a live band, cake, ice cream and special gifts for our birthday residents, even steak and lobster for their special day. Our calendar is published monthly for our residents to review. Wall-to-wall carpet, custom blinds, kitchenettes with microwave, private bath, large closets, individually controlled heat/air-conditioning, telephone and cable connections are all standard features in our apartments. Many apartments have private screened-in balconies or open patios. All apartments are also equipped with smoke detectors and sprinkler systems. A 24-hour emergency alarm system alerts staff of any problems, adding significantly to the feeling of safety and peace of mind. Living Rooms and Lounges: Exquisite, yet comfortably furnished living rooms and lounges are located throughout all three of our floors. Stop in, sit down and relax in one of our comfortably overstuffed chairs, watch the big-screen TV, use the resident computers, or take the time to browse through the library. Spend a few minutes taking in the unobstructed view of Virginia Lake or Reno/Sparks, or just enjoy the warm glow of a fireplace. Join some of the residents in the card lounge, or visit with your grandchildren in the Disney Lounge. Our lounges are for your pleasure during your stay or visit at Lakeside Manor. Beauty Salon & Barber Shop: Located on our second floor, the shop is open Wednesdays through Saturdays. Our experienced beautician styles both women’s and men’s hair. No matter the style or treatment needed, from a basic shampoo with a haircut to a color or permanent, it can all be done here. Manicures and pedicures are also available! You do not have to be a resident to enjoy our salon, many non-residents come in for their appointments too!

The Lakeside Manor community was happy and doing things together. The building was very depressing. The staff seemed friendly and good. The apartments that I saw there were also dark and depressing. Their eating area was a dining and activity room combined; nobody was in it, and it wasn't being used at the time. I don't need that kind of a facility, so it didn't appeal to me. I'm giving fair judgment for someone who does. People there seemed to be enjoying being there.

I am at Lakeside Manor and I like it here and the people are so friendly. I like the way that they care around here. They watch over us, but they give us our freedom. We have our apartments, but they are always watching over and I kind of appreciate that because at our age things can happen like falls. The people are happy here because everyone rolls outside and talks. There is nothing that I do not like at this point. They even clean my room and do my laundry. It's wonderful. My room is very sunny and bright, I love it, and I enjoy being in here. I just took my shower, and I am just sitting down and relaxing. The dining area is nice. If I am eating to relax, I can just do a takeout. It is a lovely dining area. Lots of people have returned to the dining area after the pandemic. I kind of bring mine back to my apartment. The food is fine, and it has a good variety. The staff is what I like best. They are very caring and are always watching over me and making sure that things are done and are taken care of, it's not all business. There was a trip a couple of days ago that I missed. I think we can choose where we want to go, and our bus driver will take us there. So, I am really happy about going to the bookstore Grass Roots. I have not been there in years and I used to go with my kids every couple of weeks. I went shopping at all the supermarkets a few days ago. I've only been here almost two weeks so I'm just getting acclimated to everything. They'll bend over backward here for you so I, for one, don't want to take advantage of that. So, I am careful with what I do so that I am considerate of them like locking the doors and at a certain time not going out. They are just really careful about everything and I appreciate that. They have all kinds of games and movies. One of the gentlemen bowls at online bowling. On Sundays there's cheese and wine and quite a few people sit around, and they play cards sometimes. I don't know about everything that is happening. I think there are different things that you can do. I don't know even half of them yet. When we were waiting to go into the dining room, I looked at the calendar and it is just jam-packed with all the stuff that we can do, I had to kind of take it one day at a time. I love the idea of the field trips; it seems a lot of fun and it is something to look forward to.

We visited Lakeside Manor for my husband's father. The property was OK. It was nice, it's much older, and it looks older. It doesn't give you the feeling of a Marriott-hotel property like the other place we visited. It was a little funkier. The staff was fine; there was nothing wrong with them.

Mom moved in to a beautiful one bedroom with porch just before the pandemic. I appreciate the staff who have been at Manor at Lakeside for 10-15 plus years. Stable, professional loving folks that provide for mom when I can’t. And they keep her safe. She enjoys life and her small groups there now.

I can't say enough good things about Lakeside Manor. Both the residents and staff are friendly and always smiling. My mom recently had to leave because she needed a higher level of care. She was sad to leave and the staff and residents were genuinely sad to see her leave. She was a resident during the COVID 19 pandemic and they did a tremendous job keeping her and the other residents safe. I'm so glad I found Lakeside Manor for my mom.

My cousin lives at Lakeside Manor. He seems very happy with it, and I find it to be adequate. The rooms appear to be clean. They have an activity room, a library, and an exercise facility. It seems very clean and doesn't have a hospital smell to it.

I decided to go with Lakeside Manor and I am living here now. I am enjoying being here very much. The food in the dining room is just great, the people here are very pleasant, and I like my apartment. So everything is really pleasant and very nice. It is not too expensive either, and it is also very homey. It is just very comfortable.
