"We toured Summerset Senior Living of Reno. It was very clean. The staff was very nice. We didn't have any meals there. It's up to date, but it's more than we could afford. What we needed was a two-bedroom and two-bath, and the only thing they had open was a one-bath."

"I toured Solista Carson by Cogir, and I liked it. They were very friendly. The studio apartments were very nice. It had a balcony in it. It didn't have any furniture, so it wasn't furnished yet. They had movie nights and exercise. They take you around so you don't need a car, which is nice. They even clean your place once a week and cook three meals a day."

"My mom moved into MorningStar Senior Living of Sparks. We chose it because it has everything she needs: great food, people are very nice, the landscaping is nice, and there are many cool areas to sit in and relax. There are a lot of activities, and the rooms are a nice size. They have bingo. They have movies every night. They've got a craft room. They have outings with their van, so they drive them places and take them to all their appointments. They have chair exercises and other stuff going on."

"I moved into Cascades of the Sierra. It's got a nice atmosphere and nice people. My apartment is small but comfortable. The food has been very good. They have a workout gym, a beauty shop for hair and nails, an art studio, 3 libraries, some common rooms, and a real bar."

"The Fountains is very welcoming and gives you a warm and caring feeling. My sister lives there and I have to say they go above and beyond for their residents. She has a one bedroom which is very spacious and clean. When she moved in they had just put new carpet and linoleum in. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. She receives three meals a day which are delicious. Pet friendly with housekeeping and laundry service once a week. I highly recommend The Fountains"

"I'm going to the Promenade on the River. I chose it because it is very close to the Riverwalk. There are multiple activities around there. It's a nice neighborhood. The facilities are very nice and it seems like it is going to fit my needs very well. The staff took me around for an extended tour, and she was very friendly and very helpful. They only had one room available and I took it. It's small, but it's relatively inexpensive because it's so small. They offer three meals a day, indoor exercise, activities, a roof deck with excellent views of the river and the surrounding city, a roof deck heated pool, and just routine activities offered in independent living complexes. I've looked at other places, and they were all very nice. It's just that this one was nicer, and the location is fantastic. You walk right out the door and walk 100 feet and you're at the Truckee River, and you walk two-tenths of a mile and you're at the Riverwalk, which is the greatest place in Reno for restaurants, a movie theater, everything."

"I have been a resident of Vintage At Sanctuary for a year now. I'm on the second floor, and they have elevators to get up here. They don't provide meals. They provide a lot of activities for seniors though. We have card games three days a week. We have cooking lessons. We have bingo once a week. My unit is pretty roomy for an apartment. It's a one-bedroom. They have studios and one bedrooms, too. The area is not very good. It's got a lot of homeless people and it's just not one I want to go to alone at night. Also, the management here isn't that great."

"Five Star Premier Residences of Reno was nice and clean. I didn't eat there, but it looked like the food was pretty good. They had a bakery-like deal. Most of the units were all carpeted and they're going to take those out. There will just be carpet in the bedrooms, but they're going to put laminate flooring. It's easy to just trip on the rugs and it's hard for people with walkers and wheelchairs on the rugs. The staff told me each time a unit becomes available, they're going to put the wood flooring down. You have your own little kitchen. Some of the units have a big stove and you can cook, but most of them have a microwave. The washers and dryers are only in the big units. You have to go to a washer and dryer down the hall to wash. But they make your beds and they do a lot. The staff who toured me was very accurate and nice. She took her time with me. She was very knowledgeable. She just showed me everything that I asked to see. The building was pretty nice, but it was not brand new. There were patios and balconies. The one I looked at had a patio because it was on the ground floor, and the ones above had balconies."

"Vintage Hills is a nice place. You have to be at a certain income level because it's state-assisted. It's very clean, and they have great transportation. Every single day they have a bus that takes the residents to the library or to doctor's appointments. That's one thing we really like about the place. They also have a pretty active clubhouse. They have activities and games going every single day except for the weekends. All of the doors are like inside a hallway so when it gets colder they can get around to the laundry and all the facilities and so forth in their building without having to go out. I would absolutely recommend them to others. It's in a great location, too. It's really close to a lot of stuff, like Kohl's, Walmart, and library. "

"Vintage At The Crossing is closer to my son. My son has to take me places, so it's just easier for him to get to. The location is very good; I wouldn't be afraid to go out there. They have two bedrooms, but I'll be moving into a one-bedroom. It's a very nice property. The elevators are a nice size. They are twice as big as the ones where I'm at. The staff are very helpful. They have the same activities that we have here, only more. They have a library, a movie theater, and a large exercise center. It has a better atmosphere, and it feels more comfortable."

"Sierra Place Senior Living was the one that my dad wanted to move into. It's kind of like individual apartments. They have the community rooms and they have a poker night and they do a lot of activities to kind of get everybody together. They were very clean. They were in the process of remodeling so most of the rooms were brand new and they were very nice. The staff was very helpful. She showed exactly what room would be his. She took a lot of time to answer all the questions that we had."
