I was a patient at Golden and I originally was a patient at another facility (I won't name it) and it was horrid.MyNeurologist and Social worker at Centerpoint knew my helpless situation and I was put in hospital for my back and exhaustion .I was transferred to Golden Living and was stunned how nice it was as I was used to 3yrs living in a dump and Golden Living was like a Marriott.Exellent menus and food, you have an array of options for your dining pleasure.Rehab Dept totally transforms patients back to themselves as much possible.Activities 365day.Exellent housekeeping department and Laundry omg they wash, fold and hang up your clothes SAMEDAY.Receptionist they have 3!! sweeties too. Finally Nursing and CNA:s they CARE and if you need your meds or have any medical issues they are ON IT.These depts work hard and long hours yet I was told by a Nurse "I do it because I love my patients". If you're looking all over for a place for you're loved one or you know someone that is STOP and give Golden a call. I was a mess upon coming into Golden and they put me back together

Baptist Homes of Independence furnish everything, even the cable TV. The place was small but it was adequate, and it was something we could afford. They provide your food as well, so you don't have any expenses except for your needs and stuff. It was like at $3,000 a month, which is pretty good. I haven't tried the food but I went through their menu. There are not many activities, they have someone that comes in and cut your hair and stuff like that if you want it, and they've got a nice dining area and a prayer room. It was clean and has a pretty good layout; it's all one level and has a city view.

My grandma is at Truman Gardens and the place doesn't smell good inside. There's often laundry hampers in the hallway that just smells terrible as you're walking down the halls. I think the place is just average. The patio furniture is kind of rundown and raggedy, but the staff has been kind and nice. I've been there many times when my grandma has been eating. She says it doesn't have any flavor. They have activities for her, like she said she plays games, they have craft time, and sometimes music. Her room is also big and she doesn't have to share right now because of COVID. So, that's really nice and they keep it pretty clean. She's got a window too.

The staff are so personable and genuinely kind and caring. I had to place my mom here and I feel that I made a safe decision for her. I feel that she is in good hands here. The staff take good care of her and always willing to discuss how she does on a daily basis with me. I would recommend this to anyone who has to make the difficult decision to place a loved one in a long term care facility and be able to be experience peace about the choice.

Golden Living Community was very nice. The people were friendly. I talked to a couple of the nurses. I wanted to put my mom in there because it just seems so different, like when you walk in the door, and they had a big lobby area that was just beautiful and clean. When I walked in, the first thing I tried to do was smell and see if it had any odors, and it didn't. They had activities and big menus posted for the day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and it was just so nice. The dining room was really nice.

my brother has been in this facility for a few years. rooms are very small. don't see much personal attention. he has experienced some items missing. everyone seems too busy to check on things. may try to find another care center.

I work in long term care and had to put my brother there. He would usually be dirty/unshaven when we visited. Would not recommend this place at all.

Friendly & caring but not the biggest rooms. Great therapy and good food. Thought the care meetings were helpful & informative. I'd stay there again.
