My parents have moved into Gambrill Gardens. They have a lot of acreage, which is nice. They have smaller buildings, it's not a high rise, so there's space. They also have internal walkways. The people seem to be engaging the folks who live there with different activities and different things to do, which is great. I know they have some crafts, a room that has puzzles, and a lot of birds. They do outings to ballgames and other things. Everyone that I met there has been incredibly helpful and incredibly generous with their time as we tried to get my parents moved in, settled, and get all the paperwork completed. They have been incredibly accommodating to my sister and me when we call, which is also helpful. I haven't eaten the food, but my parents say it's very good. The facility is nice. I don't remember how many years ago, but they had an upgrade. It's nice and bright.

Gambrill Gardens was a wonderful facility. They had a nursing staff and a church. They don't allow pets, and I won't give up my dog, which I've had for 17 years. They had a place where everybody could go and eat together. They have meal services there. They had a hair salon. The staff was wonderful. The apartment was fantastic. It had everything you needed. It had bus services to take you places.

Gambrill Gardens was for independent living, and I felt mom needed some more assistance. They looked lovely. They were very, very nice and looked nice. They had just recently done a remodel. The facility was very nice and clean. There were lots of activities. I always saw residents around, walking around, doing things, and participating in activities. The people I worked with there, when we were trying to see if it was a good fit for my mom, I talked to them several times over a period of about six months and they were all nice, very knowledgeable, and always coming back. I wish independent living would have been what she could have done because I definitely would have put her in there, but she needed more assistance, and that's not what they do. The community was well taken care of, and it looked like they provided quite a bit for the residents.

I lived at Gambrill Gardens for a couple of years. It was very nice. Half the time I was there, they were doing a complete renovation. When they finished, the place was gorgeous. They've got everything there. Not any of the rooms have been turned into a TV room or a theater. The sound system and everything and the furniture are made for the theater room. The exercise room was wonderful. They have a full-time staff in that exercise room that help you and do exercises like tai-chi and chair exercises a couple of times a week. They have loads of exercise equipment. They have a full-time rehab staff in there. If you need rehabilitation of any kind and the doctor prescribes it for you, they've got the equipment for that too. They don't have a swimming pool though. After they changed everything around, it's top of the line. They've got entertainment coming in two or three times a week. They have trips once a week or go out to dinner. They have jewelry making and arts, and they have card clubs. They've got an awful lot of activities. They've got specific movie nights through the week. If you want to see a movie in there, you can request it and go see a certain movie that you want. The food was above average. They have a bistro that's reasonably priced. They serve fresh every day. They have a pizza oven and a grill. They have free coffee and tea and all that. It was absolutely delicious.

My mother-in-law is in Gambrill Gardens. It's a nice place, and it's recently been redone and updated. I can't give it a five because it has no landscaping whatsoever. I can't comment on the staff because we just go there to see my mother-in-law. She's not crazy about the food. It's clean, but as far as maintenance, there's no landscaping, so they don't have a single bush planted around the buildings. They have a chapel and an exercise room, and I've seen people play cards and bingo. She is in the low-income housing, and she gets a lot for her money. She just pays a third of her adjusted gross income.

For right now, Gambrill Gardens is the best fit for my mother. It was a great tour, everybody was friendly, and the residents seemed friendly and happy. We really like the living space that she'd be in, and it's pet friendly, which is important. It's a really beautiful place, so we really like it, plus the staff was nice. She would get at least one meal a day, they have therapy there, they have a beauty salon, and they have other things there like a workout room. They have a bistro and a little store to buy items right there too on the property. She doesn't have a car so she can just go and buy snacks or some aspirin right in her own community, so that was nice.

Gambrill Gardens independent living was very nice. It was very comfortable, clean, open, and lots of places to roam around and still be inside. People were friendly. They had all of the facilities. It's a neat place and I'd move there if they were closer. I have friends who are there and they're very satisfied with the meals. They have everything you need there and a chapel.

We toured Gambrill Gardens. It was very beautiful, and we decided thatÂ’s where we would want to go. The staff was very pleasant and very friendly. The dining area was very pretty. They had a library, a theater, and a pool.

My in-laws have moved into Gambrill Gardens. It's gorgeous. They just did a several million dollar rehab of the place. It is absolutely beautiful. The staff is fabulous. They worked with me. Literally in a matter of two and a half weeks, they had us all set and ready to go, all the paperwork was done, everything needed for approval was done, and we had a move-in date. They were just wonderful to work with. The facilities were beautiful. They have game rooms and puzzle rooms. They have the most beautiful sitting areas, and they have a beautiful new outdoor area with pergolas and a firepit. They have a wonderful chef that prepares meals with all fresh ingredients. He does new things all the time instead of having the same old things repeated every other week. The people are just amazing. Everybody, from the people who live there to the staff, they are the friendliest people my in-laws have ever met.

We went to Gambrill Gardens. The apartments were nice and large enough, and it has a very nice cafeteria. There were several buildings and most were individual rooms. Each of the buildings had a nice walkway between them and they're working on improvements. They're building a lot more recreational rooms, which I thought was a really good sign.

We visited Gambrill Gardens. They were doing a lot of upgrades to their food service. They had only one meal a day, which was fine. The apartments were nice, and the location was good for our son, so we were considering it. They had many things to offer for activities and had laundry services. They had a complete kitchen if you had a one-bedroom unit, plus a separate living and dining area besides the kitchen. The staff was very good. We had a very good lunch there. They came and talked to us while we were eating and were very cordial.

Hi, I recently moved into Gambrill Gardens this August. I relocated to St. Louis after living in Los Angeles for 33 years. Being relatively young (66) I decided to put my name on a list and within a month got a call about a studio unit becoming available. I jumped at the opportunity and am so grateful it all worked out.. My unit is delightful , Starting with Debra, the entire staff has been very helpful getting moved in. The food is good and well balanced for my diet needs. The residents have been very welcoming to me at every turn. I feel blessed to be here and look forward to many more years in the neighborhood.

Gambrill Gardens is affordable but not new and not that nice. It does not offer the amenities that are found in a perfectly rated place. It's a mediocre-type place but certainly for the price, you get what you pay for.

My mother is moving to Gambrill Gardens on Friday. It is independent living, but they do have assisted living on site. It is a very nice and smaller facility than a lot that we have visited. It is very homey. They have very friendly staff and tenants. My mom has a friend who lives there, and I think that is excellent. For somebody who is looking for a smaller facility, I think this is great. It is less expensive. The food is very good.

I chose Gambril Gardens for myself because initially of the cost and the friendliness of the people who were here when we visited. We went to several facilities and most of them seemed like they were kind of quick-ish, and they weren't very welcoming at all, but everyone in Gambrill seemed very happy. We have a crafts group that meet once a week, and the leader of that is just a very, very outgoing person. She is a lot of fun, and she makes us all laugh a lot. She is also one of the bus drivers, and just any place that she is involved, she makes us all feel good about ourselves, and I think that is really important. They have a worship service on Sundays. The food is pretty good most of the time. They have little glitches once in a while, but it is pretty good most of the time. I like their outings. Last week, we celebrated Gone with the Wind's week for its 75th anniversary and made hats. They bought the basic frame and provided tools and picked flowers to decorate them. The usual crafts group didn't get into that too much, but some of the people made lots of flower hats, so even if people said they didn't want them they wore them; it was a lot of fun. It is very comfortable. I am in a one bedroom unit and it is quite large enough for me. The building that I am in is a long hallway from the dining area. There are elevators in the building, gratefully, and when I get on the elevator I'd know everyone in there by name, and I've met quite a number of people.

Gambrill Gardens was nice. The rooms were pretty small, but everything else was really nice. But, you get one meal a day, and the other ones you make yourself. It was not like the other places, but it was fine and suitable for living and all that stuff. Everything was clean, and the person who took us around was great. She showed us everything and all the information we wanted, and she put us on the list. Gambrill Gardens was in pretty good shape, but they really have to do some decorating because it needed quite a bit of work.

The goal of Gambrill Gardens is to lower the cost for independent living. The room sizes were a little on the small side. The staff was very nice and very professional. The dining is cafeteria style rather than restaurant style. They provided transportation and they had a recreation and exercise room.
