Whittier Place is conveniently in the city of Minneapolis - easy to get to with transit available. This is important to us since some of my aunt's family doesn't drive. We also liked that it is nera Abbott Northwestern Hospital - where out aunt's doctors are. We were greeted by friendly staff who took the time to show us around -- everyone seemed very happy there. The community rooms were all nicely decorated, with fresh flowers and the facility was very clean. The staff was kind and caring to residents -- all of whom were engaging in a variety of activities, from reading to playing games or watching films. The events, outdoor and indoor activities included exercise classes, walking, the library, plays, movies, restaurants, museums, art and just about anything else one could think of. There was a really nice indoor porch area - which is nice for cooler weather. The housing room were all spacious and nicely decorated - each to individual taste. Plenty of space for visitors, who are encouraged to participate in events. The snacks were delicious and the menus featured many of our aunt's favorites. She's a very good cook, so will appreciate the high quality food. We really liked this assisted living facility overall.
