Needs to be updated, and there needs to be more adult type activities. My mom found the activities to be boring.

I visited my friend in this facility. I found it to be attractive, even smelled ok! The staff and administrator were most helpful, warm and caring.

We liked Star Manor of Northville enough to place our mom there. However, she had some incidents that she had to go to the hospital and now we wanted to bring her back. They had a lovely staff. I was not there during any activities, but I knew they had a list every day by hour of what activities they were going to do. I know they did flower arranging, bingo, and puzzles. The dining area was small, but they did three meals a day.

In my opinion, this assisted living facility was pretty great. She had the ability to enjoy group functions, and outings. There were plenty of other people for her to socialize with, and the staff always seemed courteous and caring. The food wasn't that bad either. This was refreshing, as in the past this wasn't always the case. I rated this as a 3, as it could have been a better living situation, but it wasn't the worse. The rooms were quite small, and hospital like. The staff seemed very helpful and easy to contact when necessary. It was fairly easy to navigate. They really seemed to put a lot of work into making the facility home-like around the holidays. In all, I would recommend this facility to others.The patients were well taken care of. In some assisted living facilities, I've felt uncomfortable around the other patients due to their mental state. I never felt this way here, and it was a very comfortable environmental to be in. Due to my grandmothers condition, it was hard to tell how she felt living there. However, she seemed to be doing pretty well. She did pass while living there, and the staff was very courteous about the whole situation. This was one of the best facilities I've been in.

I found myself being pandered in the environment of this facility. I was given no freedom to do what I wanted, and was treated as if a patient in the hospital, with no hope of leaving. When a death happened in the home, it was ignored by the staff, and they would neglect to inform us of our friend's demise. The food was unrecognizable to put it politely, and was difficult to force down my throat. A smell lingered as i began to sleep at night, and i could not separate whether it was derived of the cleaning supplies or the lack of cleaning altogether. I was treated with a complete lack of respect, and almost as if I was a child in grammar school. The Star Manor nursing home is a completely corrupt facility. I would like to do anything in my power so that my peers do not visit this place and have it become their residence. After four months here, I had to leave and come home. I will never go back.
