Aspenwood is a four-star. I think the food has been a little lax lately. They have undergone a couple of staff changes. It is not hard, but we have to be aware of that. However, the people here are wonderful.

We toured Aspenwood Senior Living Community. The apartments were nice. We met the chef. The menu looked excellent. The location was good. It was an older place, but they renovated the whole place. I thought it was one of the better fits. I just had a general good feeling about the place.

We chose Aspenwood Senior Living Community for mom due to a combination of the staff and the facilities. They went above and beyond, and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and accepted into their community. I tried both lunch and dinner, and they both were amazing. All of mom's needs would be met there. They've got upgraded apartments and they're spacious. It's very clean, accessible, and convenient.

I was worried after reading someone's review, but had to see for myself. I'm thinking they visited somewhere else and mistook the name? The staff were wonderful, it was clean and the residents were exercising together to some great tunes. I'll be happy to select Aspenwood Al for my parents, both of their RN's took time with me and my parents to make sure their care plan was complete and all our needs were met.

This place is a disgrace. I met with Shanna and she had no idea what was going on. She did not know any of the residents. She couldn't answer most of my questions. The other managers were so fake. Food was horrible, residents were sitting in wheelchairs and drooling on themselves. Place smelled of urine and feces. Don't waste your time.

They were very pleasant at Aspenwood and gave me a tour. My first impression was I'd rather not be there, but it was clean, light, and airy. I saw a person there that I knew, and she said she was satisfied. They had a music class and singing around the piano.

I really liked Aspenwood and it's really nice. It looked clean and big. Most of the staff members were long term and had been there for years, so there's very little turnover, which is an excellent sign. They have weight lifting, exercise classes, group games, cards, movie time, and they go to museums, shows, and shopping. To me, it's like a community.

I visited Aspenwood Senior Living when I was searching for an Assisted Living Community for my mother. The community was extremely clean with lots of residents engaged in activities. We stayed for lunch and the food was delicious. Every staff person at the community gave us a welcoming smile and greeting. The apartments are quite large, some have renovated kitchens and bathrooms. What I liked most is that the Independent residents and Assisted residents mix and mingle. There are lots of activities scheduled throughout the day. They exercise everyday. Every Wednesday is a trip day where they might go to Red Lobster, Maryland Live Casino, or Toby Dinner Theater. I highly recommend this community. My mother will be moving there in a month!

The sell is hard. Friendly. Delivery of services varies a great deal depending on the provider. Services such as cleaning, bathing, etc. A review states there is a pool, there is NO pool. My mother is very happy with the food. They have many programs, everyday for residents. My mother is Deaf, and the home provides interpreters for her upon request, which is great! However, they have yet to have satisfactory lighting signals, and captioning on the communal TV in the lobby. Travel assistance was over promised- it is VERY restrictive. The administrators were EXTRA friendly, helpful and available when we were selecting, but now, when there are issues.... "they have many priorities".

Aspenwood was very nice. The staff was very kind and helpful. The apartment was very nice and roomy and had plenty of room to accommodate wheelchairs. We had some initial concern about my loved one being able to get into the bathroom in the wheelchair, but she was able to do it because she had enough room. I thought most of the activities were self-generated, and people could take advantage of services provided by Aspenwood, like a gymnasium, physical therapy place, swimming pool, and other physical therapy and equipment. It had a library and an activities room where they played games and puzzles. Plus, they had a bus services that took the residents to various places to go shopping at nearby grocery stores, department stores, and pharmacies. They took them on trips and tours to places like museums and theaters for plays and musicals. We ate there three times, and all three times, the staff was very pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. It was quite nice, and the food was nice, too.

I’m in assisted living at Aspenwood. The rooms are of medium size, and the price is moderate. We have a pool and a salon. The dining area is large, and the food is very good.

We looked at Aspenwood, and it was a very nice facility. There was nothing that I didn't like about it. We didn't choose this one because it was farther for my sister, who is the person that is closest. I live in Rhode Island, and my sister lives in Annapolis, so it was just farther away. It was a fine visit, everyone was friendly, and there was no negative reason. The only reason we didn't choose this facility was the location.

We looked at Aspenwood Community, and we had a very positive experience. It was really well maintained. The people were really nice. They served us lunch. We had a complete tour of the whole facility. They spent several hours with us, and they were very generous with their time. They had a whole activities' sheet that listed all the activities every week. It impressed me that it had a range of both unassisted and assisted services where you could pick and choose the level of service you required.

Aspenwood Senior Living Community is an extremely nice retirement place where they take exceedingly good care of everybody. I visited there for a friend, and it was topnotch. They have a really nice dining hall where people are served. The residents are known by their name, and the staff checks their room every 10 to 15 minutes. They have movies and piano players that come in. They don’t take them out as much as I would like, but they do have a travel van. They also have a little café, beauty shop, and a pool place. The facility is really pretty and very nicely setup. The apartments are really nice, and they have big windows that look out in the back.

Aspenwood Senior Living have lovely ground floor apartments with sunrooms in them which I think is very nice, but I just felt it's a little closer to being a nursing home. The staff was actually quite wonderful and friendly. They do not have washer and dryer in their apartment so the resident has to get their laundry down the hall to the washing machine. Their housekeeping is every other week. I am also concerned about the security of the facility because the fence around the facility is very simplistic. If someone would be determined to do bad it wouldn't be hard for them to get inside, but it is adequate to keep a wandering senior from getting out.

Aspenwood Senior Living Community was my second option where my mom would stay. It was a smaller community compared to the one she was in. The apartment set-up was lovely with a bedroom, living room, little kitchen, a back patio or a den. They had the activities I looked for to maintain my mom's active lifestyle. However, it was too far away from my house.

Aspenwood is more of an assisted living than an independent living. It looked nice, but it was small and it's not as updated. From what I saw, it was almost all assisted living not independent living.
