Spring Ridge Senior Apartments

I toured Spring Ridge Senior Apartments. It's 62-plus, and it has transportation nearby, which is a priority for me since I don't drive. I also like the apartment layouts. They have a local taxicab that will take residents to designated destinations like the grocery store or the mall, and you have two free rides a week. There are two cabs that can take eight people. They have community activities. They have bingo, balloon volleyball, happy hour, movie night, and church service on Sunday. It is close to a shopping mall. There's a fire station nearby. The staff members are friendly, helpful, resourceful, and they remember my name. They don't have a dining room, but they have a kitchen and a community room. They don't offer meals. I also think it has three floors with an elevator. It has a fitness room and a hair salon. They have one- and two-bedroom apartments. It seemed clean to me. The walls were well painted, and the carpets were fresh. I saw two apartments and they looked well kept.

My experience here at Spring Ridge Senior has been pretty good. It's a nice community. It's getting to be a little expensive, but the apartment I'm in is a one-bedroom, one-bath. It's about 680 square feet and it's a good size for one person. It's a decent community. It has its own issues, but that's with any place you go. You cook your own meals, but they provide dinner/luncheon whenever they have something going on in the community room. That only happens maybe once a month. They don't have a pool on this site, but they have a community pool because there are a lot of townhomes, single-family homes, and condos back here and we're the only senior place up in this area. So, the community center has a pool for everybody, which I don't go to because there are too many people. This is just one building, but it's like a T shape on each side. I walk through the building especially, during the winter months. You can walk the three flights easily and go from one corner (one side of the building) to the other corner, which is good because you get good exercise (they have an exercise room though). They have a computer room and a nice big lobby area where your mailboxes are and where you could sit out and talk to some of the others. It's a secure building. You have to have a key fob to get in and there's an intercom system. If somebody wants to come to visit, they have to ring your apartment and you can let them in.
