I had my Grandfather here to rehabilitate after surgery. He was at Hickory Creek for two months. I would have to say that getting him in here was a breeze with the nice lady that does admissions and the Director Tega. I really appreciate all the help they gave and how easy they made the transition. The nursing staff was great to him, and physical therapy had him up and going with in a couple of weeks. Everyone I encountered were very nice and attentive to the needs of my grandfather. He also like having his own room to himself.

Always out of supplies. Food cold most of the time. Unhealthy food chooses. Lots of bread, white gravy and pasta served. Lots of processed meat which is high in sodium. Staff frustrated by low pay and not enough workers. Most of the workers are kind and do their best with the conditions they work under. I do not recommend this facility.

My husband had broken his hip, so I had to find a place for him fast. I had put him in one place, which was a good place, but it was really rather expensive, so I had to get something that was a little cheaper and still had a good rating. And caring.com gave me Hickory Creek; I went over and checked it out, and I thought, "Well, it is small, it's OK, the price was definitely right, and it still has a good rating." So I moved him into there, and he seems to be doing well. He has Alzheimer's, he is in the last stages, and he is actually kind of laughing a lot and interacting with people more than he did, so this is a really nice place. The staff is absolutely fine. They already know my name, they know his name, and it is just great. The only reason I give them a four is because they don't have soft drinks, and my husband enjoys soft drinks.

Hickory Creek was a decent facility for the most part. The staff were very kind. However, to exit the building, you had to punch in a code on a keypad. The code was changed every day. When I would go to leave, there was never anyone at the front desk, therefore I could not get out of the building until I searched around and found someone or another visitor was kind enough to let me know the exit code for the day. Another issue is that I found the patient rooms way to small. My Uncle was in a two-individual room, and both of them barely had room to walk around their beds.
