"My aunt is in Meadows Manor Convalescent & Rehab Center. They have great care there. I have no complaints whatsoever, they're very good to her, and they're attentive to her physical needs. The room is very clean and comfortable, they serve very good meals, there are good portions, and they have a variety of choices. They play bingo, they talk about daily events, they have games, people come in and sing, and they do activities and crafts. The facility is kept clean, maintenance is kept up, and when we have suggestions, they're always met. We are pleased."

"I had my Grandfather here to rehabilitate after surgery. He was at Hickory Creek for two months. I would have to say that getting him in here was a breeze with the nice lady that does admissions and the Director Tega. I really appreciate all the help they gave and how easy they made the transition. The nursing staff was great to him, and physical therapy had him up and going with in a couple of weeks. Everyone I encountered were very nice and attentive to the needs of my grandfather. He also like having his own room to himself."

"Southwood Healthcare Center was the one my grandmother was in. She really liked it. In the beginning when she went there, she was really active in all the different things they had going on; but in the end when hospice was called in, I was able to stay there with her the whole time until she passed. They had church services. She just really liked it. It was just convenient for us being close. We all made sure that someone went and visited her every day. She enjoyed it. Then it ended up that her pastor from her church ended up there as well. Then people that I had worked with went there for rehab, so I knew other people. It was just great. I really like it. They had a big room that was like a circle where a lot of the residents sat, and they had birds in the middle. People would bring their kids. I took my grandkids over. The residents just loved seeing the kids. My daughter does Girl Scouts. She took her Girl Scouts there, and the Cub Scouts had gone there too. They're just so excited to see kids. I think with it being so close, it worked out well for us. The staff was always friendly. My grandmother had to sell her house to pay for it, but after she was there so long, she ran out of money, but she was able to apply for Medicaid. They were good to her. My grandmother had a roommate; but as her health deteriorated, they put her in a room by herself so that we could come and go and not disturb the other person. It was nice that we could all be in there. I stayed there the last week, day and night with her. When they came in to bathe her and stuff, I left the room. They were really good about telling me what to watch for like her respirations, and it was easier on me than just sitting there and watching her. They were really helpful, and they made it a lot easier on us. They were pretty much dead on when they told me that her end was near. I was able to get all my family there, except for my mom (who was in bad shape herself). It made it easier on all of this, knowing what to expect. She had a lot of good years there, and she really enjoyed it. The place was clean, nice, and secure. You had to be buzzed in. I really liked it. It always smelled clean. My grandma was picky with the food, but she up until the end did really well with the meal plan. She liked it, and it seemed like it was a pretty wide variety. The staff members were great. I also thought it was reasonable."

"My grandmother lived in the Assisted Living Community at Asbury Towers in Greencastle, In., while recovering from a hip fracture. The facility is beautiful, the nurses are amazing, and they even have an Aviary with lots of colorful birds for the residents! The food was amazing, I ate with my grandmother a few times while visiting, and I wanted to stay! The nurses were very attentive, and developed relationships with the residents, which was nice. My Grandmother talked a lot about the nurse who would bring her new baby granddaughter to visit the residents. The care she got at Asbury was excellent, and I would definitely recommend checking into Asbury if you have a relative in need of care in the Greencastle area. "I cannot say enough good things about The Water of Greencastle. I am/was my mother’s caregiver. After my mother had Covid her dementia progresses very fast and I it became evident that I just could care for her. After touring and meeting everyone at the Water’s I decided this was the best place for her to be taken care of. From day one the cared for her like she was their own mother. I worked very close to the water so I could stop by at any time and always found her in good condition as far as her care and hygiene. There were always plenty of activities for her to participate in if she felt like it I just can’t say enough good things about The Waters of Greencastle I never worried about her care. They always kept me informed of any changes to medications or anything. I am so glad that I found The Waters Greencastle for the care of my mother. Thank you."

"Upon walking in the front door, I came face to face with a majority of the residents gathered around the television. They were watching a soap opera with some of the staff members. A CNA was playing the piano with a few residents in the corner of the same room. I was then given a tour of the individual rooms, each containing 2 beds. The rooms were clean and organized, albeit small. Many of the rooms were currently being attended by CNAs or RNs. There was an ice pass going on while I was given the tour. Overall, the place seems happy and active. The residents are not simply left in their rooms all day long. They have group activities, exercises and entertainment. The staff is very helpful and involved. There didn't appear to be any signs of neglect or abuse. Bedridden patients were still paid attention to and turned regularly. "

"We moved to Mill Pond Health Campus and part of the reason was my husband's aunt had been over here and she was pleased with it, and we liked the facility. My husband is in memory care. His apartment is a room and a bathroom. I don't know if he's got a little kitchenette there or not, but they prepare his meals and everything for him. I stay here too. I'm in a different area. I guess it's kind of a little efficiency apartment. I guess that's what you call it. There's one big room with a TV and there are three drawers under it. We bought a drop leaf table from home. We brought our bed, nightstands, quilt rack, and chair with us in my apartment. The food is good. The staff was very helpful and very accommodating. Everybody seems very pleasant. The facility is nice and clean. There are things going on and they give an activity sheet every day of what's happening around. I do a lot of puzzles while I'm in my room. I play games on my ipad. I've got my little dog here, too."

"My mom transferred to Springhill after being in another much new facility....with extremely poor care. The staff at Springhill have been exceptional, we met the Facility Director the day we were admitted, and the rest of the managerial staff the next day. The therapy has been superb and the nursing care is as good or better than we received in the hospital. If you are looking for a great place for someone you love, consider Springhill Village, you won't be sorry "

"My dad and his wife are in Cobblestone Crossings in Terre Haute. I chose it because they're 10 minutes away from me. They have a maid service that comes there and cleans a couple of times a month. The traffic in Greenwood where they were scared me to death, but Terra Haute is a smaller city, so it's easier to get around. Dad says he's back on his feet, and he's doing really well now. I go over and do breakfast and then I deliver dinner to him every night. I look in a couple of times a day to make sure he's doing alright. His wife has Alzheimer's, so we kind of take care of her together. They're both in a duplex that's 1400 sq ft. It has an attached garage for a single car. It's $2100 a month in the duplex and it was $5500 a month if we find anything compatible in Greenwood. So, he'd pay half the money if he was here. It just all makes sense for them to move in here financially. He's well enough now, he argues with you, and he knows when you're treating him like a 3-year old. I know he's 84, but you wouldn't guess that because he's fine. He was in the hospital for weeks. He was unable to take care of himself for several weeks, but now he's fine. They had activities, but with Covid they've stopped doing a lot of that. On Fridays, they have a "happy hour" where everybody gets together. In the morning for breakfast, they can go to the dining that they can walk to and it's basically across the street. The staff would come by and talk to them and see how they're doing. It's a very small community that they walk a lot and everybody knows everybody. It's really a nice neighborhood. Everybody's around their age, so they look out for one another. We only deal with Andy who takes care of everything. They don't even need to change the light bulb, they just call Andy and say, "Hey the dishwasher backed up" or if they're having trouble with something, he'd just send people to do that. They really don't interact much with the staff because they're independent. I picked this place because they're independent living, but they can always go to assisted living where they have more services brought to them. There is also memory care right across the street, so everything is right there. The duplex looks very nice and updated. It goes in a very large cul-de-sac, and they all look alike except for their numbers. It's all well-maintained and Andy takes care of the independent living housing and all of their needs. He knows who to call to get whatever they need fixed or brought to them. He's very good. The duplex looked new and freshly painted when they moved in. Right now, they've done away with a lot of the activities. They've not had a lot of Covid in there; they've had 1 or 2 cases. They post daily updates through emails, so you can look every day and get updates of what's going on. We're pretty much happy in there. "

"We went to this facility to visit my fianc̩s grandmother. She had been here for about six months. The facility did not smell very clean, and they did not seem to have a lot of staff. It looked like only one nurse was on duty and maybe the aides. In the hour that we were there neither the aides nor the nurse came to check on his grandmother or her roommate. We decided that to bring her home shortly after our visit. Upon getting her home we discovered her cancer wound had not been treated as ordered and it took three weeks to get all of the scabbing off from around the wound. Then they kept her last two social security payments, and have yet to return them. When we call them they are not very professional, and seem to think that they sent the money back and yet social security has not received either payment as of yet. "
