"We toured here. It was a very, very nice experience. The lady that took us around was very knowledgeable and very personable. There's a nice family atmosphere. It seems like it was a community inside a community, it was very nice. They even had a bank. The apartments were very impressive. They were a nice size. We looked at a one-bedroom apartment and it was just a nice experience. I would recommend it highly. The staff who gave me the tour was very friendly. She just put you at ease, and she was very, very sweet. The dining area was impressive. We didn't eat there, but we thought it was pretty neat to have so many selections. For my dad, that's a really important factor. He was looking at the menus a lot, so he seemed pretty impressed by that. We saw lots of things posted for activities. The lady that gave us the tour pointed them out. We even met the person that leads the exercise activities, but we didn't see anything. It looked like they offered a lot of nice things. I like the activities that are offered. It looks like there was something every day and a lot of variety."

"I had a pretty good tour at Sycamore Manor. The staff covered everything. They had a little library, an area to see movies, an activity room, and they had a little courtyard. It was nice, and I kind of liked it. The lady that toured me was nice. The room that I saw was more like a studio apartment, and it was nice. It was located in a nice area. There was a mall right across from it. The outside had little patios, like little balconies. Every room had a balcony. The meal that I had was good."

"I liked the one and two bedroom apartments at Shady Oak Village. The staff were nice and they talked to me during the visit. It was a small structure and there were not much activity programs. "

"We really liked the Wyndmoor Senior Living. We're on the waiting list for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom and also for a two-bedroom, two-bath, whichever comes first. We got to talk with them and we're very pleased with it. We looked at some others, but we didn't find anything that was less money but better health care. The rooms were a little bit larger than what we have here. They had a refrigerator and a microwave. The staff was very thorough."

"The first time I stepped foot into Cannon Inn and saw how friendly and happy the residents were, I was sure it was the place I wanted my mom to live. It has a warm inviting atmosphere, the food is great, and the caregivers are absolutely excellent! They all know her personally—her needs, the little things that make her happy, and especially how to comfort her. The manager is wonderful to work with. Each room has an outdoor, gated patio. My mother has a covered swing which we love to sit in during our visits! There are outside groups that come into the home for special events, fairs, holiday celebrations, and entertainment. Family members are able to gather in a family setting for dinner in an adjoining room from the regular dining hall. It is really comforting to know that my mother is well cared for and happy. Thank you, Cannon Inn Family!"

"My dad and his wife are in Cobblestone Crossings in Terre Haute. I chose it because they're 10 minutes away from me. They have a maid service that comes there and cleans a couple of times a month. The traffic in Greenwood where they were scared me to death, but Terra Haute is a smaller city, so it's easier to get around. Dad says he's back on his feet, and he's doing really well now. I go over and do breakfast and then I deliver dinner to him every night. I look in a couple of times a day to make sure he's doing alright. His wife has Alzheimer's, so we kind of take care of her together. They're both in a duplex that's 1400 sq ft. It has an attached garage for a single car. It's $2100 a month in the duplex and it was $5500 a month if we find anything compatible in Greenwood. So, he'd pay half the money if he was here. It just all makes sense for them to move in here financially. He's well enough now, he argues with you, and he knows when you're treating him like a 3-year old. I know he's 84, but you wouldn't guess that because he's fine. He was in the hospital for weeks. He was unable to take care of himself for several weeks, but now he's fine. They had activities, but with Covid they've stopped doing a lot of that. On Fridays, they have a "happy hour" where everybody gets together. In the morning for breakfast, they can go to the dining that they can walk to and it's basically across the street. The staff would come by and talk to them and see how they're doing. It's a very small community that they walk a lot and everybody knows everybody. It's really a nice neighborhood. Everybody's around their age, so they look out for one another. We only deal with Andy who takes care of everything. They don't even need to change the light bulb, they just call Andy and say, "Hey the dishwasher backed up" or if they're having trouble with something, he'd just send people to do that. They really don't interact much with the staff because they're independent. I picked this place because they're independent living, but they can always go to assisted living where they have more services brought to them. There is also memory care right across the street, so everything is right there. The duplex looks very nice and updated. It goes in a very large cul-de-sac, and they all look alike except for their numbers. It's all well-maintained and Andy takes care of the independent living housing and all of their needs. He knows who to call to get whatever they need fixed or brought to them. He's very good. The duplex looked new and freshly painted when they moved in. Right now, they've done away with a lot of the activities. They've not had a lot of Covid in there; they've had 1 or 2 cases. They post daily updates through emails, so you can look every day and get updates of what's going on. We're pretty much happy in there. "

"Robert Flowers Village is connected to the nursing home. The residents can get their food from the nursing home if they want to, but other than that, they're pretty much independent. It's 12 to 14 individual apartments connected by a hallway, and each has individual entrances. You don't have to go to the lobby to get to your room. It's not a controlled environment, but there's not going to be a lot of people running around. I put my name on the waiting list to move in there. I liked that it was an individual apartment, it had washer and dryer on the same floor, had separate entrance, each one has a backdoor, and you can have a little patio. Most of the people were a little younger, and they're pretty active on their own. They can go out to eat, cook for themselves, order in, or order food from the nursing home, which wasn't spectacular but not terrible. "

"My grandmother is at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living. We chose to move her there because it's one of the places that have skilled nurses who would work on her dementia. So, they provide the level of care that she needs. They have all kinds of things up there. They have a spa day where the girls come in and paint their nails. They have bingo and movie nights. They have a hair salon, which is important, and an ice cream parlor."
