"My second favorite was called the Bickford of Carmel. It was very warm and friendly. It had a lot of activities. The food looked really good. It was very decorated. And the people looked happy. They were playing bingo or something. So it looked like a nice place, but it was more isolated. And I didn't think my sister would fit in there. In the unit that they have, you could put it in a little refrigerator in the room. They have a little kitchenette and maybe you could have like a K-Cup coffee maker or something like that. Nevertheless, the staff who toured me around was fabulous. The menus looked good, too."

"Sycamore Reserve is more for just senior living rather than assisted living and that suited me really well. I like the arrangement of the apartments and it's a nice place. It's a very nice place to live in. Everybody I met was friendly, they just didn't overdo their sales pitch and they let me reach my own decisions. They always explain how things are, and that was nice. They have 14 different floor arrangements in their apartments. Everyone I met on the staff was just real down-to-earth, polite and nice. They didn't mind joking with the residents, and they're very friendly. They were having some entertainment, a group was playing music and singing. Now, there weren't too many attending that. They were getting ready to set up the happy hour in the main lobby and were setting it up when I got there. The people were sitting around, talking and having a drink. When getting there, the traffic is the only drawback that I can see. It's located near a community hospital and that's where my doctors are affiliated with. They gave me a menu, they have a continental breakfast every morning, a nice lunch, and you can have whatever you want. It's just pretty nice. They had a nice dining room. On the upkeep, they had a cleaning service that I could get if I wanted it. Each one of the apartments had its own laundry, a washer, and a dryer, so you wouldn't have to hire anybody to do it for you. And I can have my grandkids come and visit, and they say I don't have to do any yard work. There's a nice swimming pool which is open when the city pools are open. And they haven't been open because of the COVID. The people taking the tour had to wear a mask. It was well kept up. One or two of the apartments that we've looked up were still under renovation. After residents leave an apartment they always go in and redo everything."

"I toured Traditions at Brookside. They had a very nice homey feel when I walked in there. The staff was all super friendly and polite. They were very good at communication. Their common area was very nice. They had like an open library section and everything, plenty of chairs, a TV or two set up, and whatnot. So there was plenty of space for everybody."

"My wife moved into Magnolia Springs Bridgewater. We like the activity programming and the social interaction associated with the activities each day. Today, I was there because they were having grandchildren trick or treating, and they were passing out candies, which they do once a year. The place looks open. Some of the care facilities we looked at were more congested and closer. Here, it is more open and light. The staff is supportive."

"We toured Brookdale Carmel. It was excellent, beautiful, it was well thought out, as was the facility itself. I thought it was great, but the only thing is I don't see a lot of interaction with the residents as a lot of them are in very, very sad shape. My mom needs somebody who can carry a conversation and get involved. So, there's not a lot of interaction between the patients, but that's the only thing. It'd be great for somebody with severe memory problems or cognitive disabilities. It would be excellent for them. The staff was very nice, very attentive, and busy. They're engaged with the residents. Everything there was excellent that I could see. It just wasn't right for my mom. They have beautiful views, and lots of places to sit and enjoy the outdoors, just the way it's laid out. It's a round, circular type hallway, so the residents don't reach a dead end and get confused. It's just thought out very nicely."

"Facility-wise, Harbour Manor & The Lodge was very clean and very nice. The rooms they got weren't as big as the rooms that I visited in the other two facilities, but they were still nice. The young lady did a nice job. Her name was Brooke, and I would rate her very high. She's very knowledgeable and very friendly. She toured me to the whole facility. She took me into one of the private rooms and showed me all the different things that they did. They also had a movie room and just about everything the other facilities had."

"My mother is in The Forum at the Crossing. It is great. Everyone is very nice. The staff is great. They will drive you places that you want to go individually or you can go with the group. They will sit you at dinner at individual tables and move you around so you can meet new people. She is in a one-bedroom apartment with its own bath. They have a library and an exercise room."

"My dad recently moved to Fort Harrison Assited Living. What I have noticed since my dad moved in, the staff is very caring, the food is phenomenal, and you can see in the staff work how much they care about the residents. The management team is compassionate, caring and you can also notice they love what they do as well. Every time my family and I come to visit the ED door is always open and she make sure we feel welcome. Julie the BOM we love her, she is always helpful and don't mind going that extra mile to help anyone. I appreciate and glad I made the right decision to move my loved one to FH."

"I toured Traditions at Solana. Their price was competitive. It was very fair for a couple of other places that were of similar quality. So the pricing was very good. They were very willing to work with me on that. As soon as I walked into the building, I got this very homey kind of cozy vibe. It is a very comfortable feeling. The facility was very clean. All the staff I interacted with were very kind and polite, especially towards the residents because I got to take a peek behind the doors into memory care and see what all that looked like. I just liked the general attitude of the environment. The apartment looks nice. It was very well taken care of. It didn't look like a rundown or anything. It was very up-to-date and the safety features were all there when they needed to be and all that stuff. It was a very adequate facility."

"Sunrise on Old Meridian was great. My mother will have a little one-bedroom there and she'd have someone reminding her to take her medication. It seemed like a good level of care for her and they have lots of social activities. We got to see the calendar for activities and it is very informative. It's a very impressive, beautiful facility. There's no odor. It was very clean, orderly, and beautiful inside. I met Julie and she was great. She was very patient. We got to see where they eat and there's a private dining room where you can reserve for family dinners. There's a snack area as well. The dining room was beautiful and spacious."

"I toured Rose Senior Living at Carmel. It was very nice. The staff members were very friendly. The dining area was very nice, and the rooms were very nice. I saw regular kitchens. We looked at a two-bedroom, two-bath. Upkeep and maintenance of the facility were very good. It's a fairly new facility and very well taken care of. They had a really nice outdoor area up on the top of the building with grills and tables, and it was well maintained."
