"My husband moved into Sugar Fork Crossing, and the place is excellent. The atmosphere is wonderful, and everybody seems very knowledgeable, and very caring. His room is very nice, and it has a large window. The staff is very caring and knowledgeable. The food is very good. There are all kinds of things that they might have done when they were still able to remember. There's a serious set up like an office, and different places where there's different kinds of tools that they might have used when they were well. The open area is very large and has skylights for the sundown syndrome. We chose it for the closeness to our home, the surroundings were familiar to him when he went out, and the value for what we got. "

"The memory care rooms are small but clean. Designed to be small so the residents will spend more time in the community area and outside in the secure courtyard. The staff is very caring, working with the residents in groups and individually. They assist each resident based on their specific needs. There are many activities for the residents including crafts, exercises, games, and music performed by singers and musicians. An onsite beauty salon is very convenient. Food is served in the memory care dining area with residents sitting with their friends or by themselves if preferred. The menu has multiple choices for each meal. On-site physical, occupational, and speech therapy is available from a third party. There is also a physicians assistant available for appointments on a weekly basis. Overall the memory care at Independence Village at Fishers East is one of the best in the area. I would highly recommend it when considering memory care for a loved one."

"Traditions at Brookside was very nice, but it was too expensive for us. When we went there was hardly anybody there. We only saw a few residents out, one chef and the lady who gave us the tour. It felt very formal and not as relaxed as the other community we chose, since it's sort of an upper-class setting. It was very nice and very pretty, and the rooms were very nice. They had a bus and a lot of activities. It's very new, nicely decorated and had a lot of amenities. They're not affordable for us. The staff members accommodated us, and came in when they aren't normally there and took us on a tour."

"The staff at The Reserve was impeccable. They’re professional, compassionate, very accommodating, and make you feel very much at home. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and range from small one-bedrooms to very large two-bedrooms, two-bathrooms. You can have rentals on a month-to-month basis which is why we are there; there’s no buy-in, unless you choose to build a cottage there. They have a chef from a top-notch restaurant in the area, and the cafeteria is open to the public as well, so you can go in and just purchase food directly from off the street. They have monthly parties, personal trainers, painting class, bridge clubs, other card clubs, and everything else you can possibly imagine. However, the one-time maintenance fee is pretty steep. "

"I found Independence Village of Fishers South. I'll be moving in the coming week. It's a very nice, very nice community. The people, everyone I've met there is very welcoming, even the residents. I looked at a two-bedroom apartment, which is very spacious, and then the one that I chose is a studio apartment, which is also very spacious. And it's got a room for a couch, so you can also put a bed in there. And the kitchen is very nice, very spacious, it's got a counter and also a cabinet space. The bathroom is very large. You have no problem getting a wheelchair and yourself in there. It has a walk-in shower, which is very nice. And they also will build it to suit, like the handles if you need them, something to hold on to in the showers. So they will put bars in there for you and they will put it in however you want to put it in. The manager was very informative. The chef comes from a very established restaurant here in Indianapolis. From what I heard when I talked to the residents, they said the food is very great and if you have visitors come to visit and want to eat dinner with you, that only costs them $7 per person to eat. You can order pretty much anything you want, from hamburgers to steak, and plenty of sides also. It's a very beautiful place."

"We visited Meadow Brook Senior Living. It was very nice, but it was just too far for us. They have very similar facilities to the other place we toured. The staff that gave us the tour was the community director or sales manager, and she was fairly new. They had washers and dryers in the units."

"Gloria and family took the best care of my mom. My mom had Alzheimer’s and my siblings and I looked at so many options for her care, many of them much more expensive with much less personal care. It was such a relief, and truly a gift, when we found Gloria. She and her family met with us immediately and answered all our questions and put all our concerns at ease. We could visit our mom whenever we wanted and she always seemed in good spirits. A Family for Mom was truly an answer to our prayers. "

"Bickford of Carmel was a secure facility. The doors were locked and so we had to be let in. I thought that was nice, especially since a part of that facility is memory care. You wouldn't know what stage your relatives might be in when they're there. So, it was nice to know that they can't just walk away and be lost on their own. I was going to meet with Peggy, but instead, it was Caitlin who took me on the tour. She did a very good job. She took me to a nice room (just as you came through the lobby) where we sat at a large table. She then introduced me to a little bit about the facility before we took a tour of the facility. They had a movie theater, a game room where people could put puzzles together and play games, and a nice dining area. The thing that mpressed me was that the whole layout was in a large square. One thing that impressed me was the ability for a resident to be there on their own, but they're well taken care of. Then if their memory would deteriorate or if they would have issues, they could remain in that same facility and go into the memory care area. Their menu was impressive, too. They had choices that the residents could have."

"My dad recently moved to Fort Harrison Assited Living. What I have noticed since my dad moved in, the staff is very caring, the food is phenomenal, and you can see in the staff work how much they care about the residents. The management team is compassionate, caring and you can also notice they love what they do as well. Every time my family and I come to visit the ED door is always open and she make sure we feel welcome. Julie the BOM we love her, she is always helpful and don't mind going that extra mile to help anyone. I appreciate and glad I made the right decision to move my loved one to FH."

"The hallways are very wide with very nice decors at Magnolia Springs Bridgewater, so it is very homey. They have studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. My father’s apartment has a kitchenette, and it has a separate bedroom. It is big enough for what he needs. They have a chef, and he is good. They take residents to other places like doctors or shopping. It is a great place. He is enjoying it. "

"We've decided to leave my dad at the Sanders Glen Assisted Living. The best thing about the place is the care that the people get. The staff is friendly and very kind and loving. He has been there for like six years. The staff is very caring, and professional, and they're on top of things. The food is not well-prepared, there's not a lot of variety, and not as fresh as I would like to see. I would suggest they add more fresh items and more variety, less gravy. They have activities like games and they bring in concerts. They have a gym and a salon, and they have a small courtyard."

"Majestic Care of Carmel Assisted Living was very nice. They have a lot of amenities. They're undergoing a major renovation in the entire building. They've been doing a very good job of upgrading the rooms, the common areas, and the dining area. They're doing everything they said they would do. The staff members were very friendly. Everyone spoke to us, introduced themselves, and told us what they did as we walked by. They have craft rooms, game rooms, a theater, a library, and sitting areas. We're looking at a two-bedroom, two bath with a kitchen. We saw the food and it smelled good. The dining area was being completely renovated. We saw it where it was about probably 80 percent done, and they were doing a really nice job. I don't know if they're expanding it, but they have really brightened it up, there were lights, and they were putting down new carpeting and new flooring. Upkeep and maintenance looked very good from what we've seen. They have a schedule of activities that they put out every month with everything that's going on each day and where it's located. They also published a menu for the month. They seemed to have good staff there, and it looked like they were well covered."

"I toured Copper Trace. I thought it was clean and presentable. The staff I saw were friendly. It looked like people were willing to work with you in our situation. I was looking for the availability of single rooms for skilled nursing, and I thought even though they shared, they were accommodating to still get privacy. Even if you're sharing a bathroom or something."

"Altenheim Senior Living has been OK. I had someone else in there a few years ago, that's why it was my first choice for my friend too who is in rehab right now. It's nice, clean, and the staff has been great. They answer my questions or try to find an answer for them, but they have been short-staffed, every place is right now though, so that's OK. I have no problems with them, and it's just too expensive. She has a private room. It's homey and a nice room. They're redoing her whole floor and so she's in an area where it's all-new. They have a lot of daily activities, like music, entertainment, bingo, church on Sundays, and she can walk outside to go sit down on the patio. Their food is cafeteria food, nothing fantastic, she likes it though."
