"The tour at Harmony at Five Forks was good. The facility's layout is very good and very clean. The staff was very good, the dining area looked nice, and I noticed their amenities. One thing I don't like about it is that it has an oversized kitchen in every room, and the kitchen is not needed. It takes up the biggest part of the room, you have like 20 kitchen cabinets, and you don't need a single one. The bedrooms cannot hold two beds, even two twin beds, so the room layout is not good. The units are not laid out right. Who needs a huge kitchen when no one's cooking. I only saw two staff members, and they looked competent."

"Quillen Manor was our favorite and the one we liked the most. The housing and place were very nice. The people were very nice and friendly. The housing was all brand new, had good space, and was very pretty. They had a living room, kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. All of it was very good, and I'm very impressed."

"We toured Belvedere Commons of Seneca. It was very clean, and it looked like they were very organized. I felt like it was a good place. The rooms were about the same as all the others, but they were adequate. Everything was up to what it should be. I've not tried their food, but the dining area was adequate. The staff who gave the tour was excellent. They're all very helpful. If there are any negatives, I would say that they charge for cable, whereas all the others don't. They also charge for different levels of care."

"We toured The Residences at Park Place. It's very nice, very clean, and comfortable. Spacious rooms. They have patios. The memory care side is very safe. They have a fence around. If they decide to start wandering off, they can't get out. It's very nice. I was very impressed with that. The rooms were very clean and well taken care of. They have one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms available. Even the studio apartment is spacious enough to hold a bed, a chair, and some furniture, and it has a little kitchen in it. It's nice. All of them are nice. They have a refrigerator in the room. The dining area was very nice. They even have a private dining room area where if you want to reserve it for a certain occasion or something, you can use it for that. They also have a small separate dining room, and they have a big dining room and all of them are nice and very well kept. The one thing I was impressed with, too, is that they have a pastor there and they have church every weekend. The staff was very nice. They were very attentive to the memory care patients. I was just very impressed."

"I toured Serenity at Easley. They were very friendly and very willing to help. They gave us a good tour of the building. Some of the clients were very friendly. They came to greet us and asked us if we were going to be there. It was a very pleasant experience. The kitchen in the room was very small, and that's one thing that turned me off because I love to cook. The place was very neat and clean though. They showed us where the dining area was, and that was very neat and tidy."

"Foothills Retirement Community was my first choice if I would move my dad. It was a complete facility. I tried their food and it was delicious. With regards to the room, you could choose the one you wanted. "

"The Woodlands at Furman was a beautiful new facility. It had fully furnished, but very small kitchenettes in the apartments. It was a much more modern and a little fancier facility. It is definitely more expensive. Instead of paying month to month, you have to put a large amount of money down. "

"I moved into Merrill Gardens at Greenville. I chose it because it was just what I needed as far as convenience and price. It's convenient to all of downtown Greenville, and the price is reasonable. It's a modern new building. It's a pleasurable place to live. It has all new, modern equipment. The staff is friendly, very knowledgeable about everything, helpful, and moving. Once you get in, just be in there if you need them. The food is excellent. It's all prepared fresh, the quantity and quality are good, and it's cooked very well. It's got a gym and a swimming pool, which is very nice, and they have activities daily."

"My tour at Clemson Heritage Senior Living was nice. The room that they showed me was also very nice and the person who gave the tour was very pleasant. She couldn't answer all the questions, but that wasn't her position and she was just asked to do the tour since it was a Saturday. Their food smelled good but I didn't eat there, their residents were having lunch when we got there. They had different activities, they had a hair salon and common areas for when residents don't want to eat in the dining area so they can eat there instead. The place and the rooms were clean, they just need more closet space. I didn't see anything wrong and everyone we talked to was pleasant."

"My husband and I came to The Cascades partly due to his health issues which forced us to leave our 2-story colonial house in the New York suburbs. We have a son and family who live in this area and we came to look at a community which would be accessible to my husband in a wheelchair and offer activities and a nice lifestyle. We found the Cascades to be more than perfect in fitting those criteria. We have enjoyed meeting the various people- interesting, friendly, outstanding new friends. There are many activities, I like to think something for all interests. One can be busy all day everyday if one chooses to do so. I participate in the wellness program, the chorus, a couple of resident committees, and the many social events. I enjoy the concerts which are brought in here on a regular basis, movies in our own theater, and adventures outside organized by the Cascades staff such as hikes and visits to museums. The support from the new friends here is outstanding. "

"The memory care at Clemson Downs has 2 floors, and everything is nice and clean. It has a cafeteria/meeting room with a television on both floors because the patients can only be on one floor. The rooms are nice, and you move in your own furniture. Everything is pretty good, and the staff is good. They have crafts, artwork, religious services, and movie nights. "

"I liked everything about Overture Greenville 55+ Apartment Homes. It's just way over my budget, but the person who gave us the tour was wonderful. She was very thorough, she was very nice, she took us around, and she told us all about the place. They were wonderful, and it was a beautiful place with lots of activities. They have a game room where they get together, play cards, meet people, and socialize. There's a section where women get together, cook, or just interact, and they also have a men's night where men just get together, too, so that's very good. They have a dining room and entertainment that comes in, so I think that's wonderful. It's in a convenient location because it's right in the shopping malls here, so they can get out and just do anything they want to do, really."

"Rolling Green Village was very clean, very neat, and the staff that I met with were wonderful. At this point in my life, the apartments were just a tad too small, and I have a large dog, so that wasn't going to work. I just did not have the chance to taste the food, but it's a great place."

"If I could afford it, I would send my mother to the Springs at Simpsonville. The place is very nice; it's very up-to-date, very modern, and elaborate. I think it's fairly new and well-kept. At that time, we had to make an immediate decision and the price just wouldn't fit our budget to be able to take her ther. It's not that they couldn't take care of her, but we just couldn't afford their rent yet. The people there are very nice. It's really nice, but like I said, it's just above what we could afford to pay for during this time. "
