"The Waterford was at the top of my list. The rooms were larger than the others that I looked at. The staff member who assisted me was excellent."

"I did a tour of Richmond Heights Place. I like the area that it's located in because it has shops and different things nearby. Even though the meals are provided, if they want to order pizza and not go to dinner, they can do that. Right there in the area, it's conveniently located to a lot of extras. Plus, the site was very, very beautiful. You could just feel good, and you can just feel the energy from the nature and surroundings. It was beautiful outside. The greenery was really nice; it is a very inviting place. I thought it looked modern enough, and the setup was nice. The apartment that they showed us was very nice and homey. It's not like you are in a hospital setting; it's like you were in a small apartment. Their staff, Jennifer was very, very accommodating, and she was very friendly. She answered all of my questions. She was very, very warm, and went over and above. I didn't make it to the first appointment. She made sure that she followed-up with me and not just assume that I didn't want to come. She rescheduled me right away and was there to greet me with coffee and a cookie. I just felt really, really good in her presence. She was wonderful."

"I visited The Ashton of Mayfield Heights. It seems like a very good place. They were very knowledgeable and very helpful. They offered us brunch, and it was very good. Everything was fine. The rooms and the common areas were very nice."

"I looked an empty apartment here, and the lady who assisted me said she had already rented it to someone but said she would put me on the waiting list. They had an assisted living and a nursing home. The attendants were nice to me, and the workers seemed to be alright. The apartment she showed me was an older apartment, but it was clean and freshly painted. They have a beautiful dining room downstairs. She said if I had a government apartment that I would have to buy my own food and when the bus went to the grocery store, I would be able to get on it. They have technicians to help you in the training room for your exercises. They go on field trips 2 or 3 times a month. They had a community room, and they were playing cards; some people were reading. It was nice and clean. Everybody was required to have one meal a day in the dining room."

"The clinical staff were so kind and welcoming! The Health & Wellness Director was able to answer questions we had and was very friendly to my Mom during the tour. The rooms are spacious and tidy. The atrium is beautiful. Our family is very grateful that we found Hamlet."

"Rose Senior Living Beachwood has more social things, but they're very expensive. They're over $5050 to $6000 a month. Two meals are included. They've got the pool, a courtyard, and bus trips. They've got activities, a beauty shop, and everything. They're very, very professional. They've invited me for lunches and get-togethers with groups of people who are thinking of getting into the facility. The building was nice."

"Right now my dad is at Solon Pointe because that is where they can accept Medicaid waiver for him because he is not able to self-pay. He is up on the second floor in the memory care and they want to see if they can try to transition him to the downstairs area and eventually get him over to his own studio in the assisted living. He has been there since April 3rd and he is not happy because he says the place is too clinical. The facility needs a little updating, but I am sure the Alzheimer’s patients don’t really care. The nursing staff is very good and treating him well. The two nurses who we talked to said that they wouldn’t mind having him back. If a family member couldn’t ride with him to appointments, that they will transport him there with someone and bring him back. Their assisted living side looks good and they’ve have a lot of activities going on. Their dining room and little library area look nice, and their assisted living side looks really nice."

"Vitalia Senior Residences of Solon is a brand new place. It had plenty of activities for the seniors to partake in. They had a swimming pool, chair yoga, chair volleyball, and other things. They also had fitness classes, games, a library, and a movie room with discussions going on. It seemed like a very nice place. The apartments were pretty nice. They had studio apartments as well as one and two-bedroom apartments. You have to bring your furniture. The lady that was giving the tour was very knowledgeable and very friendly. She engaged in conversation with my wife's cousin and got to know all about her and everything. There were a couple of residents who came up and said hi, too. We saw the menu and it seemed like there was good food in the cafeteria."

A Home environment for seniors who need some assistance with daily living but don't want to live in a large Nursing Home. "The tour we had at Vitalia Rockside - Active Adult Community was very nice. The young lady that I worked with was so sweet. She made me feel comfortable. I had some questions that she said she would look into for me and she also told me, "You can come here and join us for things. If you want, I'll send you a calendar when things go on and you could come and join us." I thought that was nice. It's modern. They didn't have a lobby or a place where people could go outside of their rooms. All they had in the middle of it that I saw was their dining area. There weren't a lot of rooms like seating rooms and things like a lot of them have. They said there was a library on another floor, but I didn't see it. The food was awesome. They offered me lunch. The menus were very good. I had an omelet and it was very good. They have a bakery and things, restaurant style, where you can just go and get something all day whenever you want. The chef is good. They gave me strawberries, and they were fresh and so good."

"My Grandmother lived at Mt. Alverna for nearly 7 years. Dedicated staff, beautiful & clean atmosphere. Excellent interactive programs & entertainment for the patients. She maintained her dignity there during her final years of life. "

"Governors Port is a smaller facility with extraordinary level of caring. Many larger more expensive facilities have fancier trappings but the difference is staff performs from the heart vs for money. There is no charge for someone to check on a parent who may not hear a call, or can't figure out a remote but be it the maintenance staff or the food service people they take the time to lend a hand. It is the difference between personal and an institutional setting. Lake Tran offers transport to anywhere and staff is happy to help arrange. I can not extol the virtues of this facility enough- they are open , honest , economical and flexible."

"Because of Covid, we have not seen my s sister's exact room but the ones we saw before she went in were beautiful. More importantly, the care that I have seen when we've visited is way better than I could have wished for. Kathy is the director of the unit, and she is amazing. She has been so kind and so patient every time I have seen her. And the nursing staff has been wonderful, also. The girls really seem to understand why they're there. That is not an easy job. I can't wait for Covid to be over so we can visit more often. I can't comment on Activities because I dont know how they can do many with Covid restrictions."

"Nason Center of Breckenridge Village is a nice facility, but they have a big fence because on the other side is a street. It is huge. It would remind you of a college campus in that you need a bus to get around to all of the different areas. They have apartments, a beautiful pool, a chapel, and brownstones, which are glorified apartments and buildings. Once you go into the individual brownstone, you think you're in a home. Fairmont is their long-term nursing center where my brother-in-law lived until he died. The building is beautiful, but there isn't any grass. They have parking lots. The building goes from one street to the other. Going from Ridge Road down to Route 20, it's almost three-fourths of a mile of campus. If they want to go the activity room, they would have to take an in-house bus that runs all of the time. The brownstone people go to a different dining room; there are three or four dining rooms on campus. "
