I liked the Senior Suites of Central Station very much. The shower is a big bonus. There's no bathtub. I've got a problem with a knee that doesn't bend all the way, so that was a big bonus. Also, there's parking in the back. I have a car, and there's no additional charge for parking. The manager of the place was very hospitable, very knowledgeable, and professional. She showed me the room and the amenities. There were laundry facilities on each floor and group rooms where people can meet with their families and watch some television. She showed me the parking, told me about the price, and took me to an available room that was open, so I could judge for myself if this would be something that would work for me. I was very happy with her and with the facilities.
They have activities and they also have a bus that takes people to the grocery store, maybe once or twice a week. They also have an alarm button in the shower as well as the bedroom. It's like a security check. If you don't hit the button before 10:00 in the morning, they will call you. She says they'll call you twice and if you don't answer, then they come by to make sure you're not on the floor. I think that's smart. I like that. The rooms were a little small, but you get everything else. I like the security of the pull string that goes down to the floor, so if you're on the floor, you just have to do the military crawl to get to it. That's important for me. I've got neuropathy and I've got a problem with my knee, so it's a smart thing to do.
