I toured Senior Suites of Central Station. The staff was nice, but I thought the apartments were small and kind of old and dated. The neighborhood was very nice, though. The place was clean, too. I was shown the laundry room and the community rooms. They said they offered food at one point, but people weren't taking advantage of it, so they stopped. The only activity I knew about was bingo, but I think they said they provided a shopping bus every week.

I liked the Senior Suites of Central Station very much. The shower is a big bonus. There's no bathtub. I've got a problem with a knee that doesn't bend all the way, so that was a big bonus. Also, there's parking in the back. I have a car, and there's no additional charge for parking. The manager of the place was very hospitable, very knowledgeable, and professional. She showed me the room and the amenities. There were laundry facilities on each floor and group rooms where people can meet with their families and watch some television. She showed me the parking, told me about the price, and took me to an available room that was open, so I could judge for myself if this would be something that would work for me. I was very happy with her and with the facilities. They have activities and they also have a bus that takes people to the grocery store, maybe once or twice a week. They also have an alarm button in the shower as well as the bedroom. It's like a security check. If you don't hit the button before 10:00 in the morning, they will call you. She says they'll call you twice and if you don't answer, then they come by to make sure you're not on the floor. I think that's smart. I like that. The rooms were a little small, but you get everything else. I like the security of the pull string that goes down to the floor, so if you're on the floor, you just have to do the military crawl to get to it. That's important for me. I've got neuropathy and I've got a problem with my knee, so it's a smart thing to do.

Senior Suites Central Station said they had all the amenities, the extra food, activities, and things like that. It was not true. They did not have one activity. I don't recommend that place. They have a lot of smoking people, and that's not what I wanted for my parents. I asked them if it was a non-smoking facility and they told me it was, but they can't seem to stop it. They let everybody smoke, and then people come in anytime they want. They're able to get through the door. They don't have security. Half the time when they were shut down, they didn't have any patio doors open, so the residents couldn't go out to get fresh air. They never answer the phone if you call. Yesterday, I called three times, and no one returned my call. I think they just need to have somebody who cares about what's happening. It just seems like there's nobody there. They don't have the managers on staff. So, when you go there, it's empty and anybody can walk in. The facility itself does not look bad, though.

My mother is a resident at Senior Suites. The quality has really gone down. They have not been able to retain staff. It's not a secured facility. It's right on 14th of Indiana where there's been a lot of traffic cones, and so it's a pretty vulnerable place in that regards for the elderly. When my mother first moved in, they used to have the pull cords. They used to check just to make sure that everyone was OK, and then there's none of that. It operates very much like an independent apartment building, as opposed to an actual senior community where there are community events, community building and care for the seniors. Since my mom has been there over time for six years, the administrative staff turned over four times.

The location of Senior Suites is good, and they have plenty of activities. They had lunch at the time we visited. They showed me the 1 bedroom, and it’s nice. The staff was very nice and cooperative. They have a common area where they have activity area and meeting room. They have a parking space too.

The location of Senior Suites of Central Station was a very good one. The place was very attractive. The apartment that I saw evidently had been recently occupied, and I did find it rather small. It was not cleaned or really suitable for viewing, so it was not a very good impression, but the rest of the building that I saw was in very good condition. The building itself and the common areas were very clean and attractive. I suppose the activity rooms were suitable. They seemed to have enough room for whatever the activity was.

I went in at Senior Suites and investigated. They showed me around the rooms, and its $1800 a year. I was trying to find out from the lady, but she was kind of rude. She never tells me anything; she just said "you can’t do this; you can’t do that," so I just left. I love the area, and it’s OK for me to live there; I would move in if they had some vacancies.

I thought the staff at Senior Suite of Central Station was very professional. They were very caring, and they gave us a tour of the facility. They didn’t have an apartment that was available, but they did call a resident who didn’t mind us being in her apartment. We went into her apartment which I thought it was very cozy, and very homelike. The rooms are a nice size. Their kitchen is a walk-in kitchen. Tome of them, as the lady told us, had a full bath with a bath and shower. Others had just the shower depending on which side of the building you would move into. You have a housekeeper once a month, a chef that does the cooking, and you don’t have to pay for it right then because it is attached to your rent the following month. You could do your laundry for free, and there’s a community room on each floor.

I figured the units at Senior Suites of Central Station are probably kind of similar to the ones in Bridgeport. I liked the place at a five, but my experience was about a four because I did not get to see a unit. If I got to see a unit and I liked it, then I would have said my experience was a five. I am just waiting for them to give me a call because this is where I want to live. If I can ultimately move to their property, I'll leave where I am.

The people were nice at Senior Suites and took me on the tour. They have different apartments; it looked clean and comfortable. The staff was good and pleasant. They have lounges to relax and watch TV.

I liked that it was very quiet, and the people seemed to be an intelligent group. They had amazing residents. The people seemed to know each other, and these are the kind of people I would like to know. The apartments were small, but very nice. They didn't have a dining room, and it didn't have a swimming pool. They had washing machines on every floor, so you don't have to go down in the basement. Everything was very convenient in Senior Suites. The staff was very nice. The security was very good. They had card games and Scrabble. Good impression when you walk in, very elegant, kind of upper class, and an excellent location.

The apartment at Senior Suites of Central Station was so small. Well, I thought it was kind of small for me, anyway. They showed me a sample of one that was ready, but it was empty. The staff was OK, pleasant. I liked the location.

Thank you very much for taking the time to include your review of Senior Suites of Central Station. I do understand your comments regarding the size of the apartments. It’s often an adjustment for seniors who may be moving from larger apartments or homes to a community like ours. However, we do find many residents, who after they are settled find the apartment quite comfortable in light of the various common areas we have for residents to use. We additionally find that residents often find it liberating to downsize their belongings & embrace the organization that comes from living in a smaller home. Please feel free to reach out to me with any additional comments or suggestions.

Senior Suites of Central Station is a very nice place, but the rooms were just too small. I was able to go to that facility because mom was there and the staff was very fine. If I just could afford this facility, I would consider this for myself.

I visited Senior Suites of Central Station and it was nice. But what I was looking for was a two-bedroom apartment and all I saw were one-bedroom with a small kitchen. They were not spacious, but the bathroom was nice. However, it was not what I want to have because sometimes my kids would come and help me at my home. I would recommend this facility to others.
