My stepfather will be moving into Parkland Manor. We like the location and the price. They don't have a dining hall, which he doesn't need. They have a big congregating space, but most of the seniors provide their own meals or they have some Meals on Wheels provision to help them with their dining. As a result, what it costs per month to live in Parkland Manor is less than half of what every other senior facility charges.

I live in Parkland Manor and it's nice. My issue with the facility is the parking because it's hard to find a parking space. The activities are very limited, that's why I'm looking for another place because they don't do a lot. I have a 2-bedroom, 1-bath, and the living is very tight. The manager that we have now just become a manager in the last few months and she's excellent. I like her quite a bit because she seems to be more hands-on with the residents. We cook our own food in our own apartments, they don't cook for us. We don't have a staff, we just have the manager and she doesn't have an assistant manager. The majority of the people that live here are either older people or have some type of handicap. Most of us drive, and the parking situation is terrible, we only have six handicapped spaces with 150 apartments. The majority of the people are dealing with walkers or wheelchairs. They need to have something for us to do, we don't have a whole lot to do but play cards twice a week or maybe a bingo and that's it. I thought they were going to take the seniors on tours or something and take us shopping, but they don't do any of that.

I moved in at Parkland Manor last July, so it's been three weeks since I moved in. Everything has been fine. I have a cable-ready one bedroom apartment. All utilities are paid. It's modern and updated.
