"The best thing about Holbrook Decatur was it was extremely nice. The worst thing was it was expensive. It was on the upper end of the budget. The only person I met was the person that was meeting us for the tour, and they were late and they were in a hurry. They were perfectly nice, but we had to wait in the waiting room for 15-20 minutes, and then they were in a hurry. The facility was brand new."

"We toured Canterfield of Kennesaw. My mother-in-law just liked it. When she walked in, she said she felt like she was at home. She felt good. She just has a feeling, and like the other place she didn't care for, but the Canterfield, when she walked in, she said, "Oh, I like this place." It was nice. The people were very friendly. The room was lovely, and they all had things to do, so we liked it. They had movies every day. They have bingo, puzzle time, and games. They have an arts and crafts room, happy hour, and trivia. They have a daily workout. They take a trip to Walmart. You can just sign up, and they'll take you shopping. Then they have church services for a couple of different denominations. They have a library, a puzzle room, a barber, and a beauty shop."

"I moved to Vickery Rose Retirement Community because I like everything about it. I liked the size of the apartments, the schedule they had for food, the meal plan, the activities, the type of people, and the location. Everything just fits in. It has met all of my needs and requirements for an independent living facility. It's not what I considered a typical independent living facility. The decor in the common areas is lovely. I like the arrangement of the dining hall and the eating facilities, and my apartment is lovely with large bedrooms. I also like the friendliness of the people. All of my needs have also been met promptly by the staff. There are many choices for each meal, and so if a resident doesn't like one thing, there's a choice for a second or a third. The food is displayed in a very appetizing manner, and there is help for those who need assistance. This facility has a lot of people who are still active, so they have their own activities to attend to during the day. Otherwise, there are a lot of people who want to play cards and canasta. They also have movies every day, festivities like Oktoberfest, and different outings. There are a few things that need work. For instance, I don't think the weekly cleaning staff is as good as it could be. However, based on what I have looked at, I can say it's a good value for the money in this day and time. Everything that we need is included in one monthly fee. There are no add-ons, surprises, or anything."

"We are choosing Varenita of West Cobb for my mother because it was new and we liked the people. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and happy. The place was large and it was very clean. They had a little courtyard area and a relaxation area. This facility was located near restaurants and grocery stores."

"I will be moving into Brookdale Chambrel Roswell. I was impressed because it was an open area. There are a lot of walking areas around it. I just like the way they set it up. There was a garden that you could walk through. They have a swimming pool. I like the people that I've met there. I had lunch there twice, and I was very impressed. The staff was very helpful. She called me several times in between. I liked her a lot. I met some of the residents there. They all had positive things to say. They were all very nice. They have all kinds of activities. They are busy all the time. You could stay busy 24 hours a day. They have crafts. They have a lot of people who play cards there. The minute I walked in, I felt that it was the place for me. I liked it."

"My uncle moved to Sanford Estates. What I like best is the facility as a whole and the actual place. They have nice, open rooms and a lot more amenities than the other places we toured. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The sales manager even offered to pick up my uncle and bring him to the facility to help out. They've been wonderful. The facility is very well kept. There's clean carpet and nice walls, and it has a good smell. They offer a lot, and he's done a couple of arts and crafts so far. The rooms are spacious. It was more than enough space for him, and that was the smallest studio they offered. I can only imagine the bigger rooms and the places that they have."

"I wanted Celebration Village Acworth. The living area for your bedroom and living room is a very, very beautiful area. It has a lot of room, and the design is really pretty. Also, it is very safe. This was on the second or third floor, but you can't get in and out without a key, so you don't have to worry about unwanted visitors coming in. They don't let just anybody in. They have a beautiful dining area. It is really nice. They have a big library. If I were going to choose, I would choose them, but they're very expensive. They raise their prices every year, and so that too is a problem for somebody who's on a fixed income. The staff member who gave the tour was a very nice lady. I didn't realize that the military would pay some, but they do. If your husband is retired military or in the military, they can contribute a little to your income for a place to live, so that's nice as well."

"I like the entire setup of Village Park Peachtree Corners. It is beautiful and the caregivers are very friendly and attentive. My dad's room has a nice layout and it's wheelchair accessible. They offer entertainment, arts and crafts, and group gatherings. They have a nice dining room and Dad likes the food. There's a good variety. Everything is going well."

Both private and shared rooms are available as well as private suite with private bathroom and sitting area. Fully furnished. "Creekside Pines Retirement Community is completely clean and new. Many things are included, like food and utilities. You have the whole apartment for yourself. They have movie rooms, puzzle rooms, and ice cream rooms. It was so cool. I can take my dog, too. Everybody I met was so nice. It was very, very nice. We had dinner when we did the tour. My son and I went there and had dinner. They have their own chef and everything. The food was very good. Everything was clean, and every empty unit that we went into was so clean. When somebody moves out, they completely redo it for the next person. I was very impressed."

"I toured Cottonwood Estates Gracious Retirement Living. It was extremely clean and well-kept. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I like their setup for the residents, the cafeteria, and the overall amenities they offer there. They provide three meals a day."

"Village Park Alpharetta would have been my second choice. However, my kids would be unhappy because it was a little far from them. They were super nice, though. It had everything. It had a pool. It was super awesome. The people were really friendly. It was just really amazing. It was beautiful. They were adding on, and they had such a big crowd of people. Everybody was really nice and kind. It was great. I would have gone there very easily, but my son was like, "It was too far, Mom!" I guess he's right. The staff was wonderful. We had a luncheon there, and it was amazing. It was great. They gave us a menu and said, "Pick anything you want," and I was looking at it, and it was 'Wow!' I had a hamburger, and it was great. The place was spotless. It was beautiful. Because they had filled up the other area, we were going to be in a brand new area, and it was really pretty. Our unit would have looked out over a garden kind of thing."

"I visited Angels PCH LLC. It's a nice place and very clean, too. The housemaker or the house owner showed me around and told me everything. They explained the whole situation between assisted living and independent group living and whatnot. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. The beds were made up. She was cooking, made me some cornbread, and gave me good corn muffins. It was clean all the way around and the grass was well cut. The porch was clean and didn't have any clutter. The tables and chairs were neatly arranged and were very comfortable, you could sit out on the porch and enjoy nature."

"Parc at Duluth was a very nice place. It was extremely clean. It looked like an upscale hotel, very pretty, and very opulent. The staff was very nice, very accommodating, and showed me the entire facility. The care director answered all my questions."
