"I wanted Celebration Village Acworth. The living area for your bedroom and living room is a very, very beautiful area. It has a lot of room, and the design is really pretty. Also, it is very safe. This was on the second or third floor, but you can't get in and out without a key, so you don't have to worry about unwanted visitors coming in. They don't let just anybody in. They have a beautiful dining area. It is really nice. They have a big library. If I were going to choose, I would choose them, but they're very expensive. They raise their prices every year, and so that too is a problem for somebody who's on a fixed income. The staff member who gave the tour was a very nice lady. I didn't realize that the military would pay some, but they do. If your husband is retired military or in the military, they can contribute a little to your income for a place to live, so that's nice as well."

"I visited Mt Vernon Village. Linda made a fascinating impression there. It was just outstanding. It was over there right between a school and a church. They were tucked off in the back. It's a nice private type of situation there. They are very upscale and very nice. It was built older, maybe 30 years old or maybe more, but it's very elegant. The apartments are very private. If you're in some sort of trouble, they can get into your apartment with no problem. You can enter and exit your apartment, too. Some of them have a patio where you can just walk right out your patio onto the car or onto your own back lawn. They provide all your meals. You don't have to pay for anything. You don't even have to buy groceries if you don't want to, but I buy my own. I have a different sort of dietary plan, but I liked the idea that grocery is no issue. Then they have a cafeteria. Everything is there. They got a chapel and I was able to meet some of the residents and they were pretty nice. They are very friendly people. They also have a weight room, a pool, and a dining room where people come and serve you the food. Then they have other little meeting rooms. For example, if you like to play an instrument or play the piano or something like that, they have a room for that. They have several different types of apartments where if you're the type of person who needs walk-in showers, they got that. The appliances are great. They got new appliances in most of the apartments. There's a full refrigerator, a full stove, and a full dishwasher. It'd be a place that you'd like to live. They invited me to dinner and I saw their menu and it was good. I don't eat a lot of meat and they have a menu there that would work for me as well. The menu looks great. They have an actual chef and kitchen staff and the the oldest member of the kitchen staff has been there for about 25-plus years."

"We toured Canterfield of Kennesaw. My mother-in-law just liked it. When she walked in, she said she felt like she was at home. She felt good. She just has a feeling, and like the other place she didn't care for, but the Canterfield, when she walked in, she said, "Oh, I like this place." It was nice. The people were very friendly. The room was lovely, and they all had things to do, so we liked it. They had movies every day. They have bingo, puzzle time, and games. They have an arts and crafts room, happy hour, and trivia. They have a daily workout. They take a trip to Walmart. You can just sign up, and they'll take you shopping. Then they have church services for a couple of different denominations. They have a library, a puzzle room, a barber, and a beauty shop."

"The people at The Holbrook Decatur were understanding. It was well-facilitated and supported. There was a great supporting staff, and they kept the residents involved in activities. The apartments were nice-sized, up-to-date, very accommodating, and very clean. I wasn't able to see a non-furnished room as one would walk into it if they lived there."

"My mom is in Angels PCH, and the staff is very good at assisting her and providing her meals. We didn't have issues. Mom's room is clean, orderly, and professional."

"I really like Sanford Estates Gracious Retirement Living. They take really good care of my mom. The people are great and she is really enjoying herself. The food is great. They'll cook whatever you want, and they have two or three different chefs. It's usually two or three different dishes that you can choose from per meal (there's three meals a day). They do exercise classes, card games, and bingo. They also go on casino trips or go shopping at different locations."

"I liked the location of Palmetto Park Senior Living. The room choices is what I liked the least. The staff was really good. They were courteous. They gave me a tour of everything that they have. They updated the different amenities and the upcoming amenities that they will be having. I will be comfortable living there. It's just I'm not at that point right now in my life. They were very inviting and very informative. They did invite me back for dinner. It's a little dated, but other than that it was well kept. The atmosphere was very welcoming. I really liked the dining area. It was really nice. The menu was nice and they're offering some new things. They said they're gonna have a robot to bring out the food and stuff, and I thought that was pretty cool. They don't have walking trails. I'm still active. This facility is more for someone that's kind of has slowed down a little bit and may need care. One of the rooms was like a hotel. I would like a little bit of space. The cottages offer a living space, but it was away from all the facilities and stuff."

"I toured The Lodge at Bridgemill. The representative was very nice and very informative. The facility and the grounds were nice. I also like that they have floor representatives, which means people who live there who like to check in on the other people who live there. They have someone per floor who is in charge of things and can help. The rooms seem pretty roomy, and pretty spacious for the price. Everything was decorated well, and it was very pretty."

"My father is in Cottonwood Estates. It is a very nice, affordable, convenient place. The people are wonderful. They have trips all the time and three or four meals a day. They have all kinds of amenities, including a library, billiards, a kitchen to cook in if they feel like it, and all kinds of transportation and trips. The rooms are very nice, clean, and perfect. "

"I toured Village Park Alpharetta. I didn't like the fact that some of the sections were further away from the area where you ate and had to do a lot more walking. I think it was a different building that you had to go into. They have an elevator that is connected to the main building. It was a nice facility. The bungalow room is not my style. The courtyard was very pleasant."

"I was able to tour Parc at Duluth. It's outstanding. It's very good. It's modern. They have a nice pool, and they have a good gym. Everything is good back there; it was very good. I will recommend Parc at Duluth."

"Ashwood Meadows Gracious Retirement Living is well organized, clean, and neat. It's very warm and inviting when you come in. There is a grand piano in the entrance. There is a beautiful eating area. It opens up to a comfortable lobby-type situation where you can sit and visit with people. I feel comfortable in my apartment. Sometimes, I don't want to leave it. Of course, that's one of the things they don't want you to do here. They want you to mingle if you can, so you have that option. So it's very, very comfortable, quiet, and peaceful. I enjoy the food. I've been here about 30 days, and they have nothing that I did not enjoy. There is a good variety. They give you some options. I'll have to give them a thumbs-up. The staff members are excellent. They respond to everything you ask for. They respond quickly, whether it's an administrative issue or a minor maintenance issue, which is very rare. They're very, very responsive, and they're just wonderful people. Their personalities seem to match the job perfectly. The place is expensive, though."
