I am/was a resident of this facility

I have been a resident of this facility since October 8, 2022. The food is superior to what is served in other similar establishments and the weekly menu allows many off-menu substitutions providing a satisfactory meal on every occasion. The kitchen isn’t four-star restaurant quality but always edible. Cleanliness is above average and the atmosphere is pleasant with no unpleasant urine smell. The rooms are a bit small but tastefully decorated, if a little too “Laura Ashley”ish. Each bed has its own TV without Bluetooth ability so rooms can be a little noisy. CNAs are the heart and soul of the establishment and here they run from superbly caring to frightfully callous, with the permanent staff mostly on the excellent tier. The RNs are 100% excellent. The management staff seems sincere in its goals of providing a good product but occasionally has some communication and follow up challenges. Having experienced three other facilities, I would heartily recommend this one.y

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The light blue room walls were dirty, the bed was broken, the floors that had food on them were not mopped daily. They don't answer the call button. My father laid on the floor and was not attended to for over 30 minutes and wounds were not addressed. He couldn't walk when I picked him up after hearing about all the therapy he did. But I received a bill claiming he had private therapy which we did not approve. Was quoted certain amount for his stay but when it came to pay the bill they claim to forgotten to add other charges. There were a few impeccable nurses and helpers. Never saw or talk to a doctor about my father so I never had an update. Now he's home and suffers

My husband has been in the Life Care Center of Sarasota. It's like a little hospital, and I guess that you have long-term care there, but we're only on the nursing area side. The nurses seem very attentive and some of the aides are lovely. I've heard other doctors say you get good care there, and there's a physician's assistant that comes and sees a patient every day. There's a doctor and a physician's assistant. It's fairly clean. The staff is very attentive, and they're very kind. Sometimes the food is really good, and sometimes it's institutional food. I noticed they do have bingo, and they have outside areas where people can go. They have ice cream every afternoon. They try to make it as pleasant as they can, but I think COVID has impacted what they do right now.

I want to capture a few words of reflection and thanks for the excellent care provided to my Father-in-law Rocco M. during his stay at Life Care Centers of Sarasota. Rocco came to Life Care Centers from another state. When he arrived he needed a lot of extra help with care and the luxury of not having to worry about his safety, healthcare, meals and housekeeping. Nina W., Executive Administrator, and her staff went above and beyond to assist with this major transition in Rocco’s life. There was a tremendous amount of conflict and divide amongst Rocco’s Children with regards to his end of life care. Nina and her team really shined helping us navigate through this stressful time. We are forever grateful for this. As Rocco’s care needs increased, the personal care attendants and nurses were attentive, and compassionate. I felt that my father-in law was always treated with dignity and respect. My Husband and I are grateful to the entire staff and healthcare providers who were there for Rocco and us faithfully during his time there. I have spoken highly of Life Care Centers to many of my friends and acquaintances in the community and will continue to do so." Sincerely, Tracy and Michael M.

If you are putting an elderly person in LLC make sure you have secured their finances first. I was there for rehab after hip surgery and on my third day I was presented with 15 pages I was told I had to sign for the to bill Medicare and my insurance. That was a lie, but the real kicker was a hidden paragraph in the papers saying I was freely naming LLC my financial trustee. I refused to sign and on my fifth day there managed to create a severe nose bleed that allowed me to escape--otherwise I'd still be there three months later. The care itself was neither good nor bad it was nonexistent.

My mother has been here for a few months and we finally came down to Florida to come and get her. I was able to hear how the staff talked to other people and they had attitudes and used foul language. A patient kept asking a staff member for help and they ignored him. Management does not care about their patients. My mother kept telling us they don't care and I believe her. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This is a fantastic place to receive rehab services. The facility is very clean (thank you to Marvin and his staff). The food wasn't the best if you require a special diet. The weakest link is the discharge planning as there was very poor communication from Life Care discharge planners about options when the rehab benefits/Medicare days are complete. The saving grace here was Care Patrol to help find placement when leaving the facility.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I was here for 3 months after surgery. the food was awesome and the service with it. the rehab was very well skilled and attentive. some exercises were boring and tedious. the therapist were great. the place overall looks good. outdated bedspreads and tv's, which was horrible when you had to fight to hear yours over roomates, get with it, they need individual headsets and upgraded tvs. the cna's overall were horrible, there was a few that were good. but most of them ignored you big time. where do they get them from? they are rude as hell and no-one does anything about it. the nurses were as good as they could be with the time frame they had to get everything done. for what these places charge they need much better quality cna's. I hear this goes on in almost all of these places, unless mgt is on it. don't go here!!!!

I was at this facility for 18 days. The place is very clean, the caretakers were great. They have a well-equipped rehab center. a day room with coffee, etc. and snacks. An ice cream parlor, an aviary, library, and lovely views onto nice courtyards. The food was great. One meal is offered, but there are many others from which to choose on the menu. The only area that needed improvement was the pharmacy. You need to know what medicines you are supposed to get and when. I often had to remind the pharmacy nurse of one medication or another that I hadn't been given.

Horrible, absolutely horrible. The help is rude and uncaring. The call button is only for show. Nobody will come. My husband had the same food three days in a row. Not very clean and sanitary. After I complained they promised to fix the issues but nothing happened, It just got worse. Run away as fast as you can. Sceen name : Nightmare, Horror, Disappointed, Pissed, Disgruntled have already been taken.

I have had to place my wife in other centers in the past with not good results. This one is the best I've been in. It's clean and friendly. The staff here was great and did a wonderful job helping my wife and treated both of us like we were part of their family. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to help their loved one. Dave

Therapy is a blessing the food is good that's where the buck stops! The cna's have nasty attitudes and ignore call lights as well as verbally asking for help! They are seen visibly rolling their eyes like you're wasting their time. The nurses are no better. I would not recommend anyone coming here.

Therapy is fine and the place is clean but if you need help, forget it, Either they are understaffed or don't care but the end result is the same, you can wait forever for help to come.My mom has pleaded with me to get her out of there. I wish I had seen reviews before her Dr sending her here because I definitley would have found another place.

My husband was in this facility after back surgery. Let's start with the good: The facility is clean and the food is good. Yamili is a sweet person and helps out however she can. Day nurses are good, but very overworked. Therapists are good. Most first & second shift CNA's are helpful. HOWEVER, night shift tends to overmedicate to keep patients quiet. CNA's do NOTHING at night-good luck if you need something. One was so lazy she couldn't even help my husband into bed and left him to sleep in a chair. His incision started bleeding and her excuse was,"he should have went to bed during 2nd shift"! Promised 2 hrs of therapy per day, per week. That didn't happen. Always schedule conflicts or sessions being cut short. Only one time in a week did someone help my husband wash up. Even when you ask, they make excuses so I would just do it. Got disgusted after a week and took him home. They will try everything in their power to keep you there as long as your insurance pays!

After surgery, I stayed in Life Care Center for a short period. It was wonderful, very clean, attractive, and well kept, but it was expensive. The staff was very good. The food was very good. The activities were wonderful. They got patients out of their rooms that were incoherent, but they still brought them to listen to music. They seemed to be really patient with them. From 2:00 to 4:00, they had ice cream served and a special room where you could get specialty coffees or teas. If I ever had to go in or my husband, we'd love to stay there, but that's beyond our means.

My dad was a resident at LifeCare of Sarasota for a couple months this spring. The therapy was very good and the therapists were very compassionate and helpful. The nurses and the social workers should find employment elsewhere. They made our family feel that we were bothering them by asking questions regarding our dads care or asking for advice. The nurses seem very overworked and not at all happy at their jobs. They also administered my dads chemo drug incorrectly for about a month because they have no method of tracking how drugs are administered if they are not categorized as narcotics. I never got an answer as to how this serious error occurred.

My father was at Life Care Center for 20 days. It was good. The physical therapy was fantastic. The food was adequate but not great. The rooms were on the small side; my father was in a double room and it was kind of small. However, the place was clean and there was a nice cheery atmosphere.

Life Care Center of Sarasota is a beautiful facility with a very nice environment. It's like living in a country club. They have a beautiful dining room. The people were friendly. The staff is very competent, nice, and very pleasant. They are very protective of their people and they provided everything except for mental care. They also have activities going on all the time.
