"Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills was a bit odd in terms of getting around, but they were really friendly, and it felt really good. They had buses to take people on tours and activities, and it was really well done. They have knowledgeable staff, and whatever they needed to do, they will tell you about it."

"My grandmother lives at Sutton Gardens. I only have the greatest things to say about the quality of care she receives. Smaller caring community with great care and food. The staff is really caring and residents are well cared for. Great pricing and fully renovated. Check it out, well worth a visit."

"I went to The Veranda Assisted Living. When they showed me the rooms and how they renovated certain things, it looked good. At first, I saw people like they were under the influence of alcohol. According to the state law, they cannot stop them from going out of the building, but if they are drinking in the building, then they're going to get penalized. When I was going in, I saw some people drinking, but they were standing outside. When I spoke to the manager, she said they could go out and they could drink, but they cannot use it in the building. The building was clean. They're doing a lot of renovations. They showed me the place where they're eating. It was nice and neat. They said they are doing renovation, floor by floor, coming down, so the whole building is going to be renovated eventually, and it looks good. The manager was helpful. The dining area was nice and clean. They said they have activities for them. They have special therapy, too."

"My husband was at Coterie Hudson Yards and it was a really beautiful place. It was a modern building, and that was what he liked very much. He liked to stay there and be cared for by people. Occasionally, he would come home to his studio and they would provide him with a car service. His studio apartment was quite roomy with very high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows looking outside, and plenty of closet space. He brought in his own paintings to hang on the walls. Also at the entrance, there's a glass box where he could put his things that he can organize in his room, and that was a very nice touch. There was no kitchen, but it had a big bathroom. He participated in the exercises, and there was someone who was instructing him how to draw and paint. They also had performances and music programs. The interaction with the staff was good, but because he was new, it was a little disorganized. But I guess that was a normal thing. I didn't experience the meals. On the top floor, they have a restaurant, and we enjoyed having a family dinner or breakfast there."

"I toured Atria Park of Great Neck. It's very clean and bright. The public rooms were well kept and inviting, and the apartments were very nice. The staff was personable and very helpful. It's close to the train station and opposite a very nice little shopping mall. It's a very walkable area."

"My dad will move into Amber Court of Pelham Gardens. The representative, Ashley, was excellent. The staff was excellent, the place was super clean, and it had a very sociable atmosphere. They were playing bingo. They had a beautiful dining and social area. They had a very nice patio. The food was good. It's not an old facility. It's very updated. The carpet was nice, and everything was good."

"We put my mother-in-law in The Arbors Westbury. The community is very friendly, and her room is a fair size, and very clean. They have a lot of activities from morning until night, including bridge, bingo, live entertainment, and crafts. They kind of have it all, including trips outside the community. The food is very good, and she has no complaints about the food. They provide plenty of it and they're very attentive to her. They have a library, a TV/ movie room, there are constant activities in the break room, and they have gardens. She's adjusting and seems to be doing very well. The dining area is very nice, it's clean, and a large area with a restaurant atmosphere. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are spotless, and the whole place is very clean. The community is very friendly to her and to the children of the seniors. I would rate the activities a four because they're constantly busy. It's affordable, and the level of care, cleanliness, and everything makes it a good package."

"It was very good! When you walk in there, it was different. It didn't seem institutionalized. I think the price ranges for anyone's needs so I think it's doable. It depends on what you really want so you had options. The woman who gave the tour was very informative, very gentle and very open to answering any questions. So I found it a great experience. Sure would recommend the facility! "

"I visited the Villas of Holmdel. It's brand new, and it opened two weeks before I went. It was very expensive, and it was extremely gorgeous. It's a dream place for me, I'm not old enough, but it's a dream place for me to go. It didn't have enough residents for what I was looking for. I wanted my mom to have an active life with residents rather than being there. Only 12 people were living in the place at the time, so that was why I didn't stay there. The place was amazing, and it was gorgeous. We were masked; it was very clean, and they were very cautious about following protocol. Not everything was up and running yet, but everything was brand new, stellar, and top of the line. Everything was top-of-the-line, including their salon and barbershop and they had a spa. I guess I didn't leave with a warm, fuzzy feeling. I left with the feeling that I like this place, but it was not going to work. I also met the nurse on staff, and she was super knowledgeable. I felt like I might have been rushed because the person who was supposed to see me went home sick. I was squeezed in on somebody else's schedule, so they probably were rushed, but they did show me everything. They have a little bakery cafe, like a boulangerie cafe and bistro area where you could sit and get little bagels and stuff at this outpost, but it's inside for them. They had a bar set up and a big, all-purpose room for shows, bands, and things. Everything was beautifully decorated, there wasn't a detail missed. There was an escalator and elevators, and there was a fountain, but they were still in the process of getting that running. There were a lot of nice calming features to it. The spa has a liquid, like a hydro bed or hydro massager that you could use. It was an amazing place, plus, they offered a massage. The facility was state-of-the-art. I didn't get an opportunity to taste the food, but they do have a happy hour. They have a drink maximum at their happy hour, you can only have two drinks in the privacy of your own room. It is expensive, but I think that the value equates to their prices."

"Amber Court is clean and has decent size rooms. The staff is professional and helpful. I don't have any complaints with the staff or anything but, I just want my mom to be closer to me. She has been staying there for three years now. The one complaint she had was the food, she didn?t really like the food there. They have shopping tours, they get their hair done and they have a lot of activities. "

"My mother has been in here for a month. We like the size of the rooms. It is very clean. The people who work there seem very caring and attentive. They have activities and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If I have a question, there is always somebody who will give me the answer. They have a salon and do laundry once a week; they do not mix her laundry with other people's."

"We chose Millennium Memory Care for my aunt because there were only fifteen people there, and it's like a house type of environment with five staff members, so it wasn't like a big institution. There's a lot of sunlight and it's only for people with Alzheimer's. We haven't got the chance to go inside because of the COVID, but as far as the attentiveness and calling us back, it's been good. They have a program now where she's having help with her swallowing, they got her a better wheelchair, they're gonna have somebody come in for four hours a day, and she sees a doctor once a week. She's getting much better care than what we can give her at home. I also like the staff. The facility looks like a home that's built in the neighborhood because in Holmdel, all the houses are big, and this looks like it fits into the neighborhood. It's a bit expensive, but I feel like we're getting what we paid for."

"When the doctors at Bayshore Hospital determined that my 91 year old mother needed special care that only an assisted living facility can provide, like any son who had cared for and lived with his mother during her time of need, I was a little apprehensive. My mother has been a resident of the Millennium Memory Care in Aberdeen (recommended to me by Bayshore Hospital) for close to a year now and I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I am with the attention of care my mother receives from their dedicated staff. Not only does she receive medical care, medication management and regularly scheduled checkups, they also provide a hair dresser and hold holiday parties. Now with the Covid-19 pandemic, the staff has suspended visitation and put other measures in place to safeguard the health of their residents. I would recommend this Care facility to anyone. "
