"Fidelis Northshorez II was a little bit newer than the other place we looked at, and it was gorgeous. The exterior was beautiful, and the inside was wonderful. The owner was great. My experience with them was five-stars. It was different from a commercial, larger place, but that's what I liked about it. It was great. I was impressed."

"Fidelis Northshore I was wonderful. The two owners were very hands-on, knowledgeable, very friendly, and spent a lot of time with me (more than once), whenever they were available. I thought that the care was excellent. They really cared, and when my husband was there they would Facetime with me three times a day. It was very clean. It was a home, and I liked that when you walked in you felt like you were in somebody's house, except they had a lot of recliners and things like that. It was very homey. I went to the bathroom once, and it was just sparkling clean. It was on a wooded two-acre lot, and it looked just like a house. It was well maintained outside, too. I was never there for a meal, but I think they fed him all the time with snacks and everything. I walked in once, and they were all sitting at a table coloring and doing different things. He was at a different facility that was very expensive and the nursing type care was very good, but I think Fidelis Northshore I was a better place, and it was a much better value all the way around."

"I like the room that my friend has at St. Anthony's Gardens. We've made it look very homey for her. It has a window and a nice bathroom for somebody that is wheelchair-bound or needs a walker. They have wonderful daily activities. If someone likes to participate they would be very, very happy with that. Sometimes I'm disappointed in, the staff members that are physically able to help get the food out to the residents. They come to a dining room and sometimes the staff seems like a smaller number of people. It takes them many trips to do what they have to do. Their activities are very good though. She is in the memory care."

"I am in Christwood in Covington. It is very, very nice, and everything is just great; there are no problems. The atmosphere is very friendly, the maintenance and housekeeping is good, and the food is wonderful or way too good. We have some exercise things and they always have programs, lectures on various subjects, and someone will be coming out this week. Tonight, they have a big screen TV, so the LLG football games will be on that. There is always something going on. I can't say I've been to others to compare it with, but from what I know and what I've heard, this one is really first rate. "

"My mom was at Dunbar Village for rehab last year. She seemed to have a high opinion of the staff, being friendly and helpful. The gym that they had for rehab was basic; it wasn't that fantastic. They got the people gather for community type of stuff, like on holidays and all that. They made it a big deal about decorating the place, and she enjoyed that. Overall, she said it was a friendly and good experience. I never really got to go in, but when we visited her, they had a front lobby as a visiting area due to COVID. She was on the ground floor, so you could go in, look in and wave to her. The room looked nice. The place looked clean and neat, too. It was in a relaxing area and not an overly busy main street. There was greenery around, they kept the outside lawn manicured, just a neighborhood kind of thing. She loved the food. She said breakfast wasn't that much, but lunch and dinner were normally outstanding."

"Facility is dirty. Residents are not attended to very well. Our family member was often left in bed and dirty. My family requested that our family member be taken out of bed and dressed everyday, which was completely ignored. Staff did not bath our family member often. SOme staff members were unprofessional and rude when you ask questions, especially the residents individual nurse. "

"We've decided to go with Westbank Lighthouse because it was small. The staff was friendly and answered all my questions. I liked that they have single rooms with only one person in a room. The room is a very good size, and it was also furnished. I saw everything they have, they had two living rooms, and in everything, there's just plenty of space. It was very clean."

"It was bright and open. The staff seemed very friendly and very knowledgeable. The apartments were a little small, which is what I didn’t like about it, but otherwise, I thought they were nice. They would be my second choice if I can’t get in my first choice. They had a chapel and a library and an average dining room. "

"My uncle moved into The Village At St. Bernard. It's eight minutes from my mother's home, so my mother can visit him quite a bit. The facility is very new and clean, and we just had a really good feeling when we went in. It's really, really nice. They're very attentive when I visit, if I need anything I call, and they're very eager to help. I'll call to ask questions, or I'll get them to relay a message -- anything that I need, they're really helpful. The food is very good. They feed him hot meals at lunch, they get a hot balanced meal as well at dinner time, and breakfast is quite nice: they get eggs, bacon or sausage, and grits. They get a nice, balanced meal. I'm very happy with that, and they don't cut corners. They have an activities director, they do chair exercises, they play bingo, they do crafts, and they've not really taken them out because of COVID."

"In Woldenberg Village, they have assisted living and skilled nursing. I visited the Azaleas and it was really nice. They have a beauty parlor and serve 3 meals a day. It had a lot of flowers and the same manager is in charge of the 3 facilities. It looked fine. A lot of the people from independent unit, needing more care, would transfer there."

"My husband is placed at Old Metairie Gardens by Peristyle Residences. It is a group home, and it is memory care. It is small, clean, and cheerful. The care is very good. It is personal and cozy. It is much better than a big facility. The staff members are caring, competent, and professional. It is all good. I am here for every meal and the food is very balanced, appealing and tasty."
