Summerfield of Slidell was very pleasant, and the people who work there are very pleasant too. My uncle is in a studio apartment. It's very well laid out compared to other facilities' studio apartments. They have a lot of activities, but he hasn't been able to adjust to doing their activities yet. I feel like they have quite a number of activities, both on location and remote. He said all three meals that he gets are excellent. They have a courtyard and little reading library areas. They have various places in the facility where they can sit, and books are available to them. There's a beautiful walking path and a courtyard for dogs and animals.

I went to Summerfield Senior Living of Slidell. I think that one is older and the outdoor area wasn't quite as big. But the rooms were nice and the place was clean. It's just we chose to stay in Gulfport. We didn't have any food there. We just had a tour. But the place was nice. They showed us some apartments. It has a very impressive large room for a studio. My sister just wanted a place with a wall. But the rooms are a nice size, so it's a little more expensive.

Summerfield Senior Living of Slidell was very pretty, very well-kept, and very clean. They had a lot of amenities, individual rooms, an open public dining area, and they have recreational buildings as well. There are a lot of green spaces around there, where you could walk around the place. There's a covered outside area where you could sit in a portico and enjoy being outside, but not far from being in. And the people there looked very content. I just met the lady who was doing the tour and one other person who I bumped into in the hallway. The impression was that they were very professional, and everybody answered my questions completely and gave me the information that I requested so I could forward it along. So I was very, very pleased with the way they responded to my questions. Their one-person room seemed spacious and it had the proper amenities. It had a walk-in type shower, toilet facilities, basin, closet storage area, it had room for a table and a desk. They also had a dining area. If you wanted to, you could bring up a computer, or a laptop, like a few of the people there, did. The place was very nice. I got to walk around with the young lady who was giving me the tour, and she would let me go wherever I wanted to. And I went into the dining area and a recreational area, and their board had all kinds of activities scheduled for people to do. If you were ambulatory, you could go and take a nice walk around the property.

I toured Summerfield Senior Living of Slidell. The tour was wonderful and very thorough. I like the units themselves. I like location. I like the activities that they have, and they have outdoor pond. They have a microwave and a refrigerator in the room. We looked at a two-bedroom. They have a barber shop and a hair salon. They have somebody that comes in and does pedicures once a week. They have two laundry facilities that are very convenient. They have nice sitting areas, and they have lots of activities like bingo and painting. It's very, very nice.

Summerfield Senior Living of Slidell is a newer facility, and it's very nice. When you walk in the door, it has that nursing home environment. We looked at the independent and assisted living. Everybody was in wheelchairs; that's your first image when you walk in. They have a lot of additional charges. They have an admin non-refundable thousand-dollar fee. We were told they charge for the electricity too, so you have to pay your own electric bill. Just the presentation of the tour by the staff (I'm not sure who she was, maybe a marketing person), it just lacked a little to be desired. She was nice enough. I just think her presentation wasn't that great. The facility itself was nice, but I found it not as appealing because they only have one window in each apartment. They have a small area outside that's like a dog park. I think they also have a walking trail in the back.

I want to express how happy my mother was to be a resident of Summerfield Retirement Community in Slidell. From the beginning, she felt at home and loved her apartment, and the staff. She absolutely loved every employee and resident. The kitchen staff, housekeepers, maintenance, CNA's, nurse's, activities and administrative staff were all amazing. They all were attentive, friendly, interested, and caring. I was there almost every day for 2 yrs. with my mother and formed bonds I will cherish forever! This is an amazing facility with amazing people! You will love it!

My mother is a resident of Summerfield Retirement Community for about 8 years. Our experience has been very good, the staff has always been very competent and efficient. The place is always very nice, clean, and updated. It's a nice place. The staff is nice, and are always available to answer questions and what-not, so it's been good. They have a variety of activities that they make available. But for obvious reasons that there are people who are not able, they're moderate as far as activities are concerned. They have social events, events that are tailored for them but with the COVID, there's been a bit of a limitation to the events that they can have. But for mother's days, it was nice because they arranged for guests or relatives. We were outside, and did that kind of thing where we decorated our cars, and the residents came out in their chairs, spaced their chairs appropriately, and we did a parade. It was nice and fun. She has a 1-bedroom that's like an apartment. It has its own bathroom, it has a kitchen, the only thing the kitchen does not have is a stove. They can have microwaves but they can't have stoves in their rooms, and they also have refrigerators. It's a mini kitchen, living room, and bathroom. It's nice and adequate for her. They offer a 1-bedroom and a 2-bedroom.

My family toured many places on the Northshore before choosing Summerfield of Slidell. The residents are always smiling and having fun. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. The functions are a blast! Summerfield is the best hands down!

Summerfield Senior Living was a little bit confining, but they kind of had too many rooms. The 2-bedroom we saw was nice and big. It just seemed like they had to tell the residents everything they did, I didn't feel like I'd have that much independence and I'd feel more regimented there. So we didn't like it that much. The property was beautiful including the outside. They have all kinds of activities during the day. Someone would play the piano and sing or they go to casino once a month. I wanted a place that is more independent. The rooms were very nice. A couple of times, the person showing me around was kind of rude to someone he was talking to. They have staff working, but the people didn't look happy there. Other times, if she needed to talk to or get a hold of somebody, she's ruder than what she should have been to the staff there. As far as the staff goes, they weren't very friendly at all. They have a restaurant where they give you a menu and you order what you want. They did laundry weekly, and if you want to do your own laundry you have to pay them to do it. Thats just more money on top of what it costs. We weren't happy with that place at all, we wanted something more expensive. The building itself is fairly new and has only been there for 3 or 4 years. It's beautiful, and you go inside its also beautiful. The rooms were nice and big. They also take pets, and we have pets. The biggest thing was that it didn't seem like its independent living.

I saw a few rooms at Summerfield Retirement Community. The lady who took us around was very nice and courteous. They didn't have a room available with a window in the living room. We saw a two-bedroom without a window in the living room, just in the bedroom, and I didn't like that. We must have light. I saw parking outside, but I didn't see an enclosed area where people would gather outside in the fresh air. The people that we passed were very friendly. They stopped and spoke with me. The entryway was beautiful.

My tour at Summerfield was good; they have studios, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom apartments. During mealtimes, the waiters come up to you, and you can order from a little menu. It's so cool, and they take pets. They have a very beautiful courtyard, and you can take your pet there. The inside was gorgeous, very clean, and very pristine. I would have put my mom in there in a heartbeat.

My mom went to Summerfield Retirement Community. The place itself is nice, and there are a lot of activities. The meals were set out nice for her, and we just like it there. They have a lot of amenities and activities all day during the day. They have exercises classes, they play music -- and play the harp and piano -- and they take them on outings on the bus, so there are a lot of things. My mother loves the food, and if you go to Summerfield, you really feel like you're at a resort. My sister and I call it a beach house.

Summerfield was a bigger place and was not very welcoming. They did not know that I was coming and the woman seemed very irritated that I was there. She gave me a tour but did it very quickly. I did not find the staff to be as friendly, and they didn't seem as friendly towards the residents, either. It was a little cheaper to stay there, but it would be harder for an older person to get around in such a big place. And then, I had a not-so-warm feeling about the place, so I would not recommend it.

My mother was at Summerfield for about three and a half years before she transferred. The place was good. My mother loved being there. The rooms were spacious. The food was pretty good.

The Summerfield Retirement Community seemed very nice. The person who gave us the tour was very accommodating. The rooms and apartments were adequately spacious. The place was also excellently secured. At the time that we visited that place, there were no apartments available.
