Assisted Living Communities in Swainsboro, GA

"My husband and I had been looking for a place for mom for 6 months and we were sent information for Greenwood. We went out to Greenwood and we liked it. They have been wonderful. Mother has been there for 6 months and I could not have asked for anyone to have been any better to her. When mother went in back in December 2012, we did not know that my husband was sick. We did not find out until March 18th and he passed away on April 8th. We had to be in Atlanta at that time and Greenwood took excellent care of my mother. The place is excellent and very clean. In fact their health rating is 100. My mother is kept clean. She gets 3 meals a day. She had glaucoma many years ago. She was given drops and I didn't think she was getting the drops in. This year when I took her for an exam, the pressure was lower than it's been in years. So they're making sure that she gets her eye drops 3 times a day. She has made some friends there and she calls it home now. I brought her back down to her house on mother's day and she said that she does not think she want's to come back down there anymore. She's happy with Greenwood and I'm happy. I don't know what I would have done without David and Tanya during this time. "

"This home was sold in 2012. The new owners are wonderful. 2 of them are Registered Nurses. The staff is the best. Highly trained. The home is licensed for 24 and has sufficient staff to cover the amount residing there as required by the state of Georgia. This is an awesome place for mom or dad to stay. They provide assistance with meds, bath, laundry, meals and much more. They gave me information on how to apply for financial assistance. It really helped. They have a few residents who still drive. We used my parents own furniture and belongs which made everything go so much smoother. "

"The times I have been to Summer Willow were very nice visits. The staff at Summer willow seemed to be nice and friendly. All of the residents interacted well with the staff. The staff were very nice to the residents as well. I have found at other places that the staff weren't nice to the patients. "

"We toured The Cauley House. The rooms were big. The room that my mother-in-law would share with a partner was a good size, but it's an older facility. The staff who toured us were very, very helpful. They have some activities for them. They would have somebody come in and play games with them. They have a front porch they could get out and sit on. There's not a whole lot. The cleanliness was good. In terms of location, there are a couple of little fast-food places."

"We are residents of Southern Manor at Candler Assisted Living. The upkeep is very good. We have a two-room apartment. They pretty much take care of everything. They fed us three meals a day. They do our laundry. They'll come in and clean your house if you want to. There's a registered nurse on duty and a couple of CRNs. They handle all our medications. So far it's been great. The staff is great. They're all quite friendly. They know everybody by name and they provide whatever we need. The food's always good. We have 2 or 3 different cooks. So things change occasionally. We don't have the same boring meals all the time. We have an activities director. I have dialysis three days a week, so I can't participate in a lot of things, but something is going on all the time. It costs, but it's worth it."

"My parents used to live at Bethany Assisted Living. It was clean and a newer facility. It was very spacious. The people there were really nice and kind. The staff was very caring. They went out there to check on people because they loved and cared for them so much. It was a little expensive, but the level of care they offered was excellent. I had seen a lot of facilities and I would honestly say Bethany was one of the best facilities. "
